Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Classic Christianity – The Book of John P38 (05-02-23)

When The Holy Spirit Baptizes Us We Are Placed Into The One Body of Christ Jesus

~ “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Judaeans or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:13

~ “And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.: Galatians 3:27

It’s so important for us to understand today, that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is done by God today. When we place faith in Jesus, God in flesh, for having done it ALL for us on the cross, having completely forgiven us, He baptizes us with the Spirit of God, placing us into the body of Christ Jesus. And there is only one body, made up of many parts. No one is saved by water baptism.

~ “Now, folks, you’re talking about two baptisms. You’re talking about a water baptism that John gave for cleansing, ceremonial, it says ceremonial washings, which was very prevalent in the Hebrew community. And then you’re talking about a final … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Repentance is a Change of Mind

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P808 (02-10-23)

Understanding the Word of God in Context is Key to Our Proper Understanding

~ “To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” Romans 2:7

~ Some people will take a single verse of scripture and twist the meaning of it because it is taken out of context. It is so important to study the word of God in the proper context to understand the true meaning of things. Don’t allow yourself to be swayed by a doctrine of man, taking something out of context and build a false doctrine of law on top of the word of God.

~ Cletus asks, “I have a question on Romans two, seven. I think I caught one of the days you were explaining it to somebody but I cut the end part of it. So I don’t know if you can help to explain that to me about sounds like Paul is contradicting salvation. I know it’s not a contradiction. So I just need a little bit of explanation on that.”… Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is Our Completed Total Forgiveness

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P623 (04-08-21)

Synopsis

People call in to get advice and help on various topics, such as personal struggles with temptation or clarification on understanding scriptures, particularly those passages in the gospels that apply only to the Jewish people who were living under an Old Covenant. So Bob explains what the New Covenant we live under today is.

Jesus used the law to bury people under the law so they can see their need for a Savior. Until the work was finished, Jesus taught about the New Covenant to come, and he told his disciples to wait in Galilee for the promised Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes into a person, a person becomes born again, the Spirit remains forever. That is what happened to the disciples on the day of Pentecost, the first time in history people were born again.

The Holy Spirit is what changes lives. The disciples could not really understand what Jesus was saying to them, but now with the Holy Spirit living in them, they now have new revelation. The Spirit lived in them and changed them from fearful men, hiding in fear of the Jewish leaders, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Salvation is Receiving New Life

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 67 (09-03-19)

Synopsis

Bob shares from the 14th chapter of John. Jesus is soon going to the cross and is sharing final words of instruction and encouragement to his disciples. He is explaining the plan God has laid out for him to accomplish. He is telling his disciples that they should be glad he is going away. For if he does not go away, then the Spirit will not come to them.

Jesus first had to go to the cross. At the cross is where he shed his blood to take away the cause of death, which is sin. Sin is the cause of death, and until that is settled, the next time man sins, he would die again. But once that is done, then he will ascend back to his Father and leave the Holy Spirit to be with man, to those who will receive him and believe in his name. Salvation is receiving new life. New life happens when the Holy Spirit comes to live inside man. That first happened at the day of Pentecost, to those who believed the words of Jesus.

Jesus shared the good news of the … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

A Closer Look Bible Studies

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P438 (5-09-19)

Bob George RadioBob addressed several questions often asked by people even today. Is tithing for today? What about Melchizedek? Does the example of Abraham “tithing” to Melchizedek mean that we should tithe today? If I committed adultery that resulted in divorce, is it okay for me to marry again? Should we celebrate certain Jewish holidays, such as the feast of first fruits, or Pentecost? What should we do about certain things that are not clear in scripture, such as certain topics that do not really have sufficient information and tend toward speculation? Should women serve in the military? Can a woman be a pastor? What is the role of men and women in the home? Are their roles different? What does it mean for a woman to submit to her husband?

Erwin from Vancouver, British Columbia

Erwin called about the importance of Pentecost and asked when we should be celebrating it.

Pentecost occurred fifty days after the resurrection of Christ Jesus. Pente means fifty. So fifty days following the the resurrection of Christ Jesus. This would fall in April. For the birth of Christ, there is some speculation. But the resurrection lines up … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
