Learn to Walk in Freedom in That Sabbath Rest in the New Covenant of Grace

When a person does not know the full gospel, has been taught erroneous teaching of in and out of fellowship, that you can lose salvation or lose fellowship, and does not understand the New Covenant He is under today, he is unable to rest in the fact that God has not only done it all, has taken away your sins from the eyes of God never to see them again, but is always alive, living in you, forever interceding for you.

As you ponder over these scriptures, Romans 5:10, Hebrews 9:22-28, Hebrews 10:9-18, Hebrews 4:1-11, Hebrews 7:23-25, and Hebrews 3:18-19, what conclusions can be drawn?

Romans 5:10
¹⁰ For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

When you think about Romans 5:10, ask yourself, “When were you reconciled?”, “When did Jesus die?”, “Did His death save you or were you saved by His life?” So, Jesus died for you before you were even born, and when you were born, you were at enmity with God due to your fallen sin nature in Adam.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

What is Salvation? Death to Life

So many people call in and ask questions about salvation. They are often confused by what they hear in their particular denomination or various preachers on television. Again, it is so important to rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you through the scriptures He has given to us through the prophets and apostles, who were eyewitnesses, when Jesus was alive walking on this earth. Ultimately, that is where truth has to come, from the Spirit of God in Jesus, who Himself is God in the flesh.

So often we hear from people that you can lose your salvation or that you have to do something to keep yourself right with God, or you have to be obedient to the law so as to keep in God’s grace or to do some religious practice to get more grace. All of that is simply not true. If anyone says you can lose your salvation then they do not know what salvation is. If anyone says that salvation depends on what you do then he does not understand salvation. Recognize your condition of death that you might come alive in Christ Jesus

Many of us have grown up in some sort of religion where we at least heard about God and something about Jesus. And one topic you will almost always hear about is forgiveness of sins. Yet, sadly that is also a topic that can also be a controversial topic! Why is that? God gave His word so we may know the truth on such a foundational issue, the issue of sin that caused our death. And the more serious problem is that we are all born dead spiritually. And the crux of the matter is, because of our condition since birth, there is no one who seeks God. We may know about God. We may know He is the Son of God yet not know what that means. We may even know something about the fact that Jesus died on a cross. In many churches, you will see a statue of Jesus nailed on a cross. What the Cross Made Possible for Mankind: An Indestructible Life

What did Jesus’ shed blood on a cross make possible for you and I? And, if Jesus was not raised from the dead, would all that was made possible by the cross be a reality in our life? Think about these questions as you ponder over the passages of scriptures in Hebrews, where the New Covenant God made, not just with the Israelites, but with all of mankind, is explained. Looking at specific passages in scriptures, such as Hebrews 9:22, 27-28, Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:1-18, what conclusions can you come to in regard to the totality of the cross? What can you say in regard to the forgiveness of sins, of being made holy, to be made complete, in Christ?

What God has done for us in this New Covenant is He tells us that He will remember our sins no more and where these have been forgiven there is no longer any sacrifice for sins. The Cross Settles the Sin Issue; A Necessary Preparation for Eternal Life

Most of the world knows that history is divided into B.C., before Christ, and A.D., Anno Domini, the year of our Lord just from the calendar. A subset of the world knows historically that Jesus died, was buried and rose again. There is much information out there, but the most reliable and trustworthy information is the scriptures available to us today, the Word of God, written down through eyewitnesses of these events. Much of the world has the bible translated into their own language.

As you study the scriptures, you will discover that from God’s vantage point, history is divided into before the cross and after the cross. There was a time period in history before the cross when the Israelites were under an Old Covenant agreement with God. After the cross, that was replaced by a New Covenant agreement (Hebrews 9:16-28). Let Truth set you Free and Learn to Walk in Grace by Faith

As a new believer, you will tend to have more of a struggle in overcoming sinful habits, and that is not unusual, as you are just now on the starting line of having your mind renewed. Even as you mature in Christ, you will continue in that process of having your mind renewed until the day you meet the Lord. We will all continue to battle the flesh, and God knows our weaknesses and tendencies. We are all reminded to guard our life and doctrine closely and take heed that we do not fall, and to be gentle and humble toward others, as we ourselves could easily get caught up in any sin ourselves. By allowing God to change us, our thinking and attitudes of heart, our actions will be in accordance with who we are as a child of God, and our emotions will follow. You will no longer be miserable but experience the fruit of the Spirit God wants to produce in you and through you. Learn to trust the mercy and grace of God.
