Follow Jesus to The Cross and Resurrection

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 59 (08-14-19)

Synopsis

We are in the book of John, chapter 12, after Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Then there was a dinner in the honor of Jesus, and Lazarus was there, and then a festival that took place. After the festival, Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. On his way, some Greeks who had gone to worship at the festival, wanted to see Jesus. They told Philip and in turn he told Andrew and they both told Jesus. Jesus then speaks truth about his purpose in coming to this earth, the mission he came to complete.

While all these events had transpired, the Pharisees and religious leaders are getting more and more upset, and sought to kill Lazarus as well as Jesus. After Lazarus was raised from the dead, the word of Jesus was spreading even more. Recall that job security killed Jesus. They could not be teachers of the law if everyone follows Jesus. They wanted people to listen to their teaching of the law that was contrary to what Jesus was teaching. It did not matter to them that lives were changed by the message Jesus taught and the miracles that were performed through him.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P458 (7-25-19)

Synopsis

Several callers ask Bob questions pertaining to things they have heard out in the world today, and not just the secular world but the Christian world. Bobby called to comment on how sad it is when so many people listen to false teachers, like the Kenneth Copeland‘s. Bob commented that the real issue is where are people going to spend eternity. False teachers have just enough truth to draw people in to listen but intermixed with so much garbage that messes them up for the rest of their life. Is that just like Satan, who is really the one behind this great deception. Bob then addressed the real issue that each person needs to ask himself, “am I saved or am I not saved?” Bob then explained from Hebrews 10:26 what sin keeps someone from being saved from death and the real need of man to have new life in Christ. Bob explained that Jesus death on the cross is when the sins of the entire world was taken away. That does not mean the whole world is saved. You are not saved through the death of Christ but through the life of Christ.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

End of the Law

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P457 (7-19-19)

Synopsis

Bob answered questions by two people today. Glenn asked a simple question but really opened up to expose a more serious problem in his belief system. For many years he was enslaved in fear and depression over guilt over a past sin of fornication. Bob graciously helped guide him to truth so he could walk in new freedom. He no longer needs to be enslaved to the law but is free to walk in the grace of God. Andy asked a common question asked by many people still today. He asked, “What is the role of the ten commandments in the life of a believer?” The short answer is ‘not a thing’. Bob also addressed a statement he has heard by many people, “We are no longer under ceremonial laws but we are still under the ten commandments.” That is totally false but is still being said today by many people. Bob shared scripture after scripture to more thoroughly explain.

In summary, the law is designed for unbelievers, not believers (1 Timothy 1:9). The law was added in order for men to recognize their utter sinfulness, their state of condemnation, dead in sin, that they are spiritually dead, so that they might seek a savior (Romans 7:7, Hebrews 7:19, Galatians 3:19-21).… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Worship in Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P456 (7-18-19)

Synopsis

Bob received calls from several callers, asking common questions asked in the world still today. Danny asked, “Do you believe in the Trinity?” John asked, “What does Romans 8:17 mean that ‘we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory’?” Sam essentially asked, “What about the person who has never had the opportunity to hear the gospel message?” You may have heard a similar question, “What about the heathen in Africa?” From the scriptures, Bob explains the Trinity, that God is the Father, God is the Son and God is the Holy Spirit but there is only one God; about the sufferings of Christians, that we do not look for suffering but sufferings will inevitably come, and that there is no person who has not heard but even if there was, we leave that decision to God, who will do what is right in accordance with who He is, a perfectly loving and just God.

Sam also asked a more specific question about the Muslim who has never heard, since he was just raised Muslim all his life. Bob shares the truth of the gospel message that cuts through all religious belief systems and puts the emphasis on where salvation is, Jesus Christ.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity - Bible Studies - Victory Over Depression

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P454 (7-11-19)

These callers called in to the original People to People radio program Bob George was on for over 30 years. Most of the questions were to get clarification of truth on some commonly misunderstood passages of scripture. Laurie asked, “Where do you place Melchizedek in Hebrews 6:16?” Oftentimes by simply reading the verses before and after a scripture that is unclear to you, you can discern what is important to understand in a passage. We often want to focus on a very narrow point rather than get the spiritual truth that Jesus wants you to know. Bob emphasized that Hebrews is about explaining the superiority of Jesus Christ. To the Jew, there is no one greater than Abraham. Hebrews clears this matter up by explaining that Melchizedek is greater than Abraham and Jesus is greater than everyone.

Edwin asked a very common question, typical of those who are new believers or those improperly instructed from religious teaching. He asked what is the difference between baptism of water and baptism of the Holy Spirit. By studying the scriptures the answer is very clear. John the Baptist even spoke of two baptisms in Luke 3:15-17.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Your Sins Have Been Forgiven by God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P453 (7-05-19)

Bob received a call by Patsy, who wanted guidance or reassurance in regards to actions she had taken with a granddaughter who had chosen to live a lesbian lifestyle. Bob reassured her that what Patsy did was in accordance with truth and love for her granddaughter. You do not have to be a believer to know that the actions of your granddaughter is sin. Bob explains Romans 12 in regards to this kind of perverse mind and also the actions taken by the apostle Paul in regards to a similar sexual perversion that occurred in the midst of the believers in 1 Corinthians. So Patsy did what was right to send her granddaughter back to her parents because of her persistent rebellion. Bob and Patsy were in agreement in the truth on this.

“You set a standard and tell her the truth in regards to Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ loves you and he was raised to offer you eternal life. He did not create you a depraved pervert. That came from your own choice. But I am not going to have that behavior flaunted in our own home. When you flaunt that behavior in other people then I have to take a stand on that.”… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
