Classic Christianity – God’s Greatest Gift Part 1 (11-19-18)

Bob George TeachingWelcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George. Today Bob shares from Luke 2 and Matthew 2 on God’s greatest gift to man, Jesus Christ. God reveals truth to people through His word and Jesus is the living word that came from heaven. For those in Christ Jesus, you have everything you need for life and Godliness. Indeed, the living word lives in you through the Holy Spirit who is your counselor, one who gives you advice. He advises you on proper thinking, continually renewing your mind to think how God thinks. This discipline of the Lord, the renewing of the mind, is a blessing and helps us grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. So the Holy Spirit renews the mind of a believer with truth so you are set free from error that keeps you bound.

Luke 2:22-32
22 When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”[b]), 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”[c]… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John p16 (11-14-18)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues teaching from the book of John, beginning at John 5:45. Bob explains how natural man focuses on the things of this world and, as believers, how easy it is to take our focus on the one who is our life, Jesus Christ. Then, when we do focus on Christ, then we miss what Jesus really came to do. Do we come to him only to meet physical needs, such as food and clothing and protection from a storm. Does one trust that he is one who is with you always in every trial and tribulation in this life? What about knowing Him and having life in His name? Have we forgotten why he came? This life is but temporary.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John p15 (11-13-18)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues teaching from the book of John. Currently he is sharing practical biblical insight from John 5:41-45. From this passage he shares that the opposite of love is pride. He illustrates several ways man shows pride and contrasts that with love as listed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-6. God is love and perfectly shows such love. Bob explains that man cannot produce this love in their flesh, but by abiding on the vine (John 15:5), so they can bear the fruit, the characteristics of the Spirit, as listed in Galatians 5:22-23. In contrast to the Pharisees, who accepted praise from men rather than seeking the glory that comes from God, could not even bear love. Unless someone is born again and has God’s love poured into their heart, they cannot give out love, being detached from the vine.

John 5:41-45

41 “I do not accept glory from human beings, 42 but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. 43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John p14 (11-12-18)

Bob George TeachingBob George, from the original People to People radio for over 30 years, continues teaching from the book of John. He starts out by introducing the thinking of an atheist and agnostic in regards to their lack of understanding of the truth of God. Then he transitions to how the child of God, or believer, knows the truth of God and has the indwelling Spirit of God to reveal truth to him. The believer has the choice to walk by the flesh or by the Spirit. Bob shares some common patterns of walking in the flesh and the absolute necessity of having the Spirit of God at work in you. Without the Holy Spirit, the believer cannot love and his natural tendency in the flesh is to walk in fear or anger.

Bob also explains the relationship between faith, hope and love and the typical flesh pattern of living in fear, sin really. Fear leads to anger or the building of defensive walls as barriers to relationships. With fear, one is not free to love someone else and fear leads to anger.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John p13 (11-07-18)

Bob George TeachingWelcome to Class Christianity Radio with Bob George, the clear, timeliness teaching on the complete forgiveness and unconditional love of Jesus, that will transform your life as you learn about God’s amazing love. Let’s join Bob as he continues sharing through the book of John. Currently, we are studying John 5:19-30. Bob begins the lesson showing how modern day church organizations and denominations so often are not operating by the Spirit of God, with Jesus as the head, but as religious activities for God to bless. He presents several examples of religious activities and briefly retells the story of the religious Pharisees from yesterday’s sermon. He then re-explains the concept of the Trinity, with emphasis of how Jesus lived on earth in total dependence on His Father. Bob then further explains the function of the Holy Spirit in a believer. He particularly focuses on the role of the Holy Spirit as counselor, to help a believer to identify error in thinking, and replace such error with truth. Bob then further explains man’s most basic problem is not that he is a sinner, but that he is spiritually dead and in need of life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John p12 (11-06-18)

Bob George TeachingWelcome to Class Christianity Radio with Bob George, the clear, timeliness teaching on the complete forgiveness and unconditional love of Jesus, that will transform your life as you learn about God’s amazing love. Let’s join Bob as he continues sharing through the book of John. Currently, we are looking at John 4:46 – 5:20. Bob shares insight into one question Jesus asked a man who was an invalid for over 38 years: “Do you want to get well?” Bob made several observations, the invalid’s attitude and initial unbelief, the invalid’s coming to believe, and the response of the religious leaders. Bob made a point to identify what religion does to keep people blind to truth and what a real relationship with Jesus does to change lives. Bob said that there is nothing more stupid than religion. Then Bob shares how the Holy Spirit living in you was modeled first by Jesus living as a man to show us how to live, to live totally dependent on God. This personal relationship with the living God is unique to every individual. Bob made a point to emphasize the true freedom a believer really has.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
