A Closer Look Bible Studies

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P36 (07-08-20)

Synopsis

You are growing in grace, but you sense in your Spirit that you are not really experiencing all that God wants for you. You read about the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-24, and you ask yourself, “Am I really experiencing those things in my life?” If you are not, you ask yourself, “Why not? What is preventing me from experiencing what is truly life; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self control?”

Could it be you are looking in the wrong places? Could it be that you are still thinking like the world thinks, that money will buy you happiness? Why is it that the world seems to value people who are rich and famous, successful people, who are influential in the eyes of the world. In 1923, Bob George read from the Be Born Free gospel tract about the lives of nine successful men, and what happened in their lives 20 years later. They learned how to make money but they never learned how to live.

Now, you know that Christ is your life, and you know that this fruit of … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Come to Jesus for Resurrection Life

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P34 (07-06-20)

Synopsis

Jesus Christ truly is our only hope. No one can live the Christian life. We were never designed to lean on our own understanding. That is how denominations start, with all its various ideas made up by men. We were designed to acknowledge Him, to have the Holy Spirit of God living in us. Yet, we were born without the Spirit of God living in us. That is why God sent His Son to rescue us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. We were without hope, without God in our lives. We could not function as God intended. We were bound up in sin and death, to forever be separated from God if we remain in the state we are in, dead spiritually.

God sent Jesus to die on a cross to take the punishment of death for us. Only He was without sin. Only He had a life to lay down. Only He could be raised from the dead, for He had no sin of His own. Only He can offer life to mankind, for only He existed eternally, with no … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Come to Be In Christ

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P33 (07-01-20)

Synopsis

This gospel of God’s grace, of Christ in you and you in Christ, your only hope, is nothing new. It has been preached by the apostles, and by men from generations past. Bob happened to find a book written by a missionary to India around 1929, that his wife Amy found, where the same truth he has been preaching has been preached. It is so encouraging to hear. God raises up men to proclaim truth, teachers na evangelists and missionaries, so that people may know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, to know eternal life.

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

When the apostle Paul says that Christ is your only hope of glory, what does he mean? When he is saying Christ is our only hope of glory, he is saying there is no hope for you. There is no way for you and me to have a relationship with the living God apart from coming alive to a … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

LIFE IN JESUS

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P32 (06-30-20)

Synopsis

Have you thought about what Jesus accomplished for us? Did you know that we have already been reconciled, and that before you were ever born. Wait a minute, you ask, “Does that mean everyone is saved, or born again?” No. “What are you saying then?” When Jesus died on that cross, he took away the sins of the entire world. That is a necessary part for salvation. It was preparation for life to be given, but until someone receives that life they are not born again because he does not have the Spirit of God living in him. The complete gospel is the meaning of his death, burial and resurrection. Let us move on from the cross and onto the resurrection.

When you realize that you are wretched, you realize that you are dead in sin already, knowing that the good you ought to do, you do not do, and the things you hate to do, you do anyhow. Then you realize that that sin that caused your death was paid in full. But you still cannot stop your sinning and you are still wretched. You … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is Our Only Hope

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P31 (06-29-20)

Synopsis

Let us learn about laying a solid foundation of Christ Jesus living in you. You must start with and continue on with gaining a deeper understanding of Christ, who is your life. It is not only going to be a foundation of what your hope of glory is, but it will be a foundation for you for subjects like predestination and election, which was discussed last week. It is a foundation in which to live in all godliness, which is by faith.

With any foundation, if your premise is off, then everything else will be off. Without a proper understanding of these things, without a foundation, you really cannot understand the scriptures correctly, they make no sense, and you are tossed to and fro by every wind of teaching. So we looked at Pentecost and how Christ is the head of the body, the church, the Ekklesia, made up of both born again Jews and born again Gentiles. So you have a place to start and build on, to form a solid foundation. From there, as you read through Romans, Ephesians and Hebrews, you begin to … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
