Go Beyond The Cross

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P32 (01-21-19)

Synopsis

As we read in Romans 8, there is life in the Spirit. Formerly, the mind of the lost person was hostile to God. We do not naturally think of ourselves as hostile to God, but we are. The law is set against us and so we would rather plead ignorance. Then we can at least plead ignorance. But if we are properly trained by the law to lead us to Christ, then the law served its purpose to convince us that we are dead and in need of life.

We used to live according to the flesh, when we were lost, because that is all we had. But then when we were born again, the Spirit of God came to indwell us. We were set free from the law of sin and death because in our weak state we were never able to live up to the demands of the law. The Spirit of life came to live in us to produce love in and through us, as we learn to trust God.

But how many people have understood what it means to walk in accordance with the Spirit. Jesus told … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Who were the disciples depending upon for information while Jesus was with them? Jesus. They asked him questions continually, did they not? Did he answer questions continually? Did he teach them continually? Everything we know about Jesus, about his kindness, about his goodness, about his forgiveness, about his dedication to you and me, and his faithfulness to you and me, every single thing we know about God and his character has been revealed to us in Christ Jesus.

In times past, God revealed Himself in many ways, through dreams and visions, through nature, but in these last days He has revealed Himself to us in His Son Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 1:1-3

Understanding the New Covenant

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P477 (9-27-19)

Transcript

Nick from Loredo, TX

Nick: I was listening to someone preach the other day. He said you cannot be a cafeteria Christian. What he meant was that you cannot be a Christian that just picks and chooses scriptures and live accordingly. It is either all of the scripture or none of them.

Bob: Well, that is not true. You certainly do not want to be living under the Old Covenant when it has been replaced by the New Covenant. I do not know what his theology is. Let us take two scenarios. If he is saying that we are just as much under the Old Covenant as the New Covenant, then that person is out to lunch. If the Jews could not live under the Old Covenant, we cannot live under it either. That is why God came to replace the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant is obsolete, old and aging and will soon disappear. We do not live under the Old Covenant. We live under the New Covenant.

Hebrews 8:13
13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated

Jesus Life Saves a Person

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P432 (4-18-19)

Bob George RadioBob George received a call from Jim who simply asked if love is more important than faith. Bob answered from scripture that love indeed is greater than faith because love is from God and God is love. God initiated love to us and we respond to that love in faith. So faith is man’s response to love. Do we accept his love or do we reject it? Do we even understand that love? Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love.

Bob George also received a call from a young college lady, Lynn, who had found herself in an unwanted situation. She had committed fornication and is now pregnant. She wanted to know if abortion was wrong. Bob graciously shared truth with her, that abortion indeed is the sin of murder. Bob graciously provided practical advice and explained the truth of God’s unconditional love toward her. He shared such practical wisdom to help her make choices in line with who she is as a born again believer. God created life and this child she has was a life God intended to live. So if the life of … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
