So many people today think that they were righteous in the sight of God before they had the Righteousness of Christ Jesus living in them. We get it in our minds that we were righteous, and simply need forgiven from time to time in order to stay righteous. Folks, that teaching is from the pit of hell. We never had righteousness before we received the righteousness of God.

Jesus Forgave the Sins of The Whole World

Because we are so preoccupied with trying to keep ourselves clean, and religion throws that in our faces too, that we fail to realize the truth of the word of God. We discount His word and think to ourselves, that God really didn’t die for the sins of the whole world. You hear this type of teaching all over the place today. It doesn’t matter whether a person is a Catholic or a Protestant, both teach the error of ongoing forgiveness. They are not teaching the New Covenant and don’t even understand the New Covenant to begin with. They change the meaning of the word of God to something else.

I don’t think there’s a more important subject that we can deal with than our identity. First of all, I think the most important subject that we have to deal with is His identity and that’s Christ. And of course not only do most people, not only not know who He is, but because we don’t know who He is, we don’t know who we are. And so we really don’t know a whole lot when it comes right down to it. I think the other thing is because we’re in such a mindset that our identity comes from what we do, that the reality of that is and the problem with that is, we go out and do something and we don’t even know who it is that did it. If we don’t understand who we are, so when my identity is in what I do, I can say well I do this, I’m a preacher. I’m a basketball player. Bob: Now, another thing where we use to determine our self-image is by what we do. And I believe that Satan has done a masterful job of getting people, to use the statements, I’m a, I’m a businessman. I’m a housewife. Who are you Bob? Well, I’m a housewife. I’m a, I’m a businessman. I’m a football player now. In that particular deal our self-image is therefore based upon what we do.

But I think there’s even something deeper to that because in essence, our self-image is not only based upon what we do, but it had me. It would have to be based on how well we do it. In other words, what good does it do to say well, I’m a football player? Have you ever caught a pass? No fumbled every one, every one that has been thrown to me. Well, in other words, it’s answering those questions. Those age-old questions. Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? It’s, if we don’t answer those questions, we’re walking around in confusion for the rest of our lives. We don’t know who we are.

And so folks God made us to have an identity, but when God made man, he made man in such a way whereby God in the man is indispensable to the humanity of the man. You take God out of the man, and what do you have, where you’ve got a man that’s two thirds whole, as a body and a soul, but his spirit is dead?
