God is Not Counting Your Sins Against You

Synopsis

The first caller, Hans, with understandably great emotion with weighty decisions to make. He shared that he is dying of melanoma cancer that has invaded much of his body already, including his brain. He had concerns about losing a relationship with God because of potential damage to his brain. Bob assured him that his relationship with God will always be there. You will never cease to be a child of God. You might not be able to pray to Him, but you are in His hands. He was also wanting advice on further treatments to take. Bob could not answer that for him, but for him to ask God for wisdom. God gives wisdom to all who ask without partiality. But he offered what he personally would want to know. If the cancer has invaded most of his body and that no amount of treatment will get rid of it, then the decision, to Bob, would be one of quality of life versus quantity of life. He would personally refuse continued treatment, if he had definitive information from the doctor on the matter. Synopsis

Bob shares from the book of John where Lazarus had died. Jesus meets Mary and Martha. Martha tells Jesus, “If you had only been here, my brother would not have died. But even now, I know that whatever you ask will be done.” Here we come to see more about the person of Jesus. When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. Jesus is a real person with a heart. Jesus, being God in the flesh, was at His Father’s side, creating all that exists, the world we see and all of mankind. Mankind was designed to be created with the Spirit of God living in him. Here he is among his own creation. Imagine God weeping at the fall of man, seeing what was intended in his creation, knowing how man was designed to function, destroyed in a moment by the cunning of Satan, once known as Lucifer, a fallen angel, who has become the father of lies and has deceived man and has him bound in sin and death. Synopsis

Bob received calls from several people wanting help in communicating with people who have been caught in false teaching. People are not free to walk in the newness of life because they have not studied God’s word and allowed the Holy Spirit to teach them. Instead, they listen to the world and do not test and see if what people say are true. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”

Brian asked in regards to his wife who has been diagnosed as bipolar. He was in need of correction in regards to going to the ungodly for advice and in regards to what faith is. There is so much false teaching out there that teaches that our faith causes God to do this or that. That means we are greater than God and He ceases to be the initiator and He responds to us. There are so many false teachers of the Word of Faith crowd, or the “name it and claim” or “blab it and grab it” crowd that needs to be corrected of error, if they are willing to listen to truth.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

You Are Reconciled to God

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 49 (07-23-19)

Synopsis

So often as we live this new life in Christ Jesus, we forget or lose sight that Jesus really is our life. We forget to thank God even of the simple things of life, such as food, shelter and clothing and the air we breathe. Everything we have is from God. In past generations, woman and the elderly were respected. While in a crowded waiting room, waiting for the doctor, there are no seats available and a woman or elderly man walks in, it was quite common and a natural thing to do to give up your seat. There was a greater moral climate that even lost church goers had quite a moral nature about them. There was, in general, respect for those in authority over us, whether police officers or the president of the United States. It has gotten far worse than in Bob George’s time on earth. We have those athletes who have no respect for even our country, for what men in previous generations did to fight for us to have the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy.

Faith in Jesus


Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 48 (07-22-19)

Synopsis

Jesus walked on this earth to come to his own, to show them that he is the Messiah that was to come into this world but his own did not receive him. But to those who did receive him he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believed in his name.

Jesus identified himself as the good shepherd. He is the shepherd for his sheep. The sheep are those who hear his voice and believe that he is the savior of the world, the one who gives life to men. He came first for the Jew and then the Gentile. The Gentiles later too heard the message along with some Jews and believed and were saved. Jesus all along came to make one new body, the Ecclesia, out of the two.

Jesus also identified himself as the gate, the only way by which man can be saved. Those who try to enter any other way except through Jesus, Jesus says their father is the devil and said they are a thief and a robber. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. So many people are in bondage due to error, whether from legalism or from false teaching or harsh, condemning words they believed to be true. Todd expressed the error he has heard from Baptist churches, that is really double talk, that only leads to being unstable in all your ways and living a defeated life. How can someone say you have to confess your sins to keep in fellowship with God and also say all your past, present and future sins have been forgiven? There is so much incorrect teaching from a poor translation of 1 John 1:9 and from passages in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, where people do not understand the difference between the Old Covenant that the Jews and Jesus lived under and the New Covenant that Jesus spoke about. Because of such error, people are living defeated lives and certainly not the abundant life Jesus promised. Salvation is also not properly taught or understood.

Here is the problem. We stopped at the cross for salvation. The cross does not save anyone. The resurrection is what saves you. The cross was preparatory for salvation. It was something that had to take place in order to bring salvation to us.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
