Bob received a call by Patsy, who wanted guidance or reassurance in regards to actions she had taken with a granddaughter who had chosen to live a lesbian lifestyle. Bob reassured her that what Patsy did was in accordance with truth and love for her granddaughter. You do not have to be a believer to know that the actions of your granddaughter is sin. Bob explains Romans 12 in regards to this kind of perverse mind and also the actions taken by the apostle Paul in regards to a similar sexual perversion that occurred in the midst of the believers in 1 Corinthians. So Patsy did what was right to send her granddaughter back to her parents because of her persistent rebellion. Bob and Patsy were in agreement in the truth on this.

“You set a standard and tell her the truth in regards to Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ loves you and he was raised to offer you eternal life. He did not create you a depraved pervert. That came from your own choice. But I am not going to have that behavior flaunted in our own home. A Person Forgiven Much by God Loves Much

Bob George is so glad to hear from people that call to thank him for truth that has changed their lives. Jeff called and is now serving as a pastor, known also as pastor Jay, is now excited sharing the same grace and love of God that changed his life. Ted called to thank Bob for resources that he could share with the soldiers deployed overseas. The materials, particularly Classic Christianity and Victory of Depression, were very much liked by the troops there. Vernon called to express his gratitude for the truth that he now understands, that he is already forgiven and no longer needs to ask God for forgiveness of sins every morning. That understanding of truth changed his life.

What is particularly special and brings great joy is when the truth of the gospel is shared to someone so that he becomes a child of God. James called to ask a question about what makes a man think he is a homosexual. Many times people ask such questions because they are bothered about sin in their own life and want to be set free. Tony asked a question about false prophets, those men who say they heard from God. Nobody today is getting direct words from God. Those who prophecy today are proclaiming truth from the scriptures that have now been closed. The canon has been closed. Anyone proclaiming words of the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses or the other cults is not a prophet.

Stacey asked about why Jesus was tempted when he is God and He is never tempted. Bob cleared up her misunderstanding. Someone can be presented the temptation to sin, but if you are perfect like God then that really is not a temptation to you. Sin was offered to Jesus by Satan is what is being said here but Jesus is not ever tempted by sin that he should sin. If I were offered a cigarette or drugs, I would walk away or turn it down because I never desired or was given to that kind of temptation.

Jesus Asks of Us Lean Not on Your Own Understanding

Tony asked for understanding of a conversation he had with people who believed that the apostle Paul was the only person with the mystery of the gospel. Bob instructed him to stay away from such erroneous teaching and rely on the Spirit to teach you and trust Him to complete the work he started in you. Think about Ephesians 3:5 and 2 Timothy 3:16 for example. Bob then answered his question about priesthood and ambassadors. Those in Christ Jesus are ambassadors for Christ, since our citizenship is in heaven, representatives of God on earth and our priestly function, with the Spirit living in us, is to represent Christ to the lost and the lost to Christ. Aaron got into a conversation with Bob, agreeing that scare tactics is not an effective way of evangelizing. Bob addressed that the heart of the gospel is the resurrection. Bob personally addresses the person’s need of new life first, and if the person then does not accept or agree, then it would be fine to address the matter of their being on their way to hell in unbelief, but he would not start there. Bob George sometimes received calls from people who have a general question concerning a scripture that seems out of place and does not make sense in reference to the totality of other scriptures. They call to ask Bob for his understanding. Bob addressed a question by Larry to explain Mark 16:6. Sometimes just common sense can get you through a scripture’s intended meaning. We should not drink poison or drink poison thinking we will not be harmed. Bob also explained how a translation can have a passage that is not in the original manuscripts and to take that into consideration when studying God’s word.

Other times people call just to thank Bob for resources received to share with others so as to grow and be encouraged in the faith. Such was the case with Ted who called thanking Bob for bible study materials he received, such as “Classic Christianity” and “Victory over Depression” that he shared with men he was deployed with in Iraq.

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 18 (05-08-19)

Bob George shares again the good news of the gospel, sharing truth from scriptures that he has compiled into a little booklet titled, “Born Free”. What is our part, as believers in Christ?

2 Corinthians 5:20
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Recall that which Christ has done for us, the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:21
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

We are saved by His life, the cross was not an end in itself, but a means of accomplishing the end – that of restoring life that had been lost through sin.
