Born Free

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 17 (05-07-19)

Bob George answers the question, “What is the gospel?”. Starting from 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Bob explains that Jesus died, was buried and was raised from the dead and appeared to you. This is the gospel that saves you, with nothing added to it. The gospel that saves is the message of what Christ has done to take away the consequences of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life. Bob wrote a booklet titled , “Born Free”, that explains the gospel message. There are five main thoughts Bob shares concerning the gospel message.

  1. Man’s problem : Man is spiritually dead and in need of life
  2. God’s Solution : God has provided life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ
  3. Before life could be given, sins had to be forgiven (taken away)
  4. The Good News of the Gospel – “It is finished”
  5. In Him you are a new creation.

Our decision is to turn from our unbelief and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our life. Salvation is crossing over from death to life and is by faith alone. The good news of the gospel is “It is finished”. What is our part?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 16 (05-06-19)

Bob continues in the gospel of John, where he left off in chapter 4. He summarizes Jesus encounter with the Samaritan woman as an introduction to the topic of evangelism and starts up again where Jesus reconnects with his disciples, telling them the fields are ripe for harvest. Evangelism is reaching out in love with the truth of the gospel message. The gospel message is all about what Jesus came to earth to do and did. As believers, we share the same gospel of good news we believed and received, which is the same gospel that the apostle Paul preached. We long to share that message with others. Bob George explains what the gospel message is beginning with 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and several other scriptures. In one sentence, the gospel is a message of how man is saved from the consequences of sin, the wages of sin, which is death by the gift of God, which is eternal life. He explains the reason he wrote the “Born Free” gospel booklet in the order it is in. He first sets the stage for understanding man’s need for life by sharing the true stories of the lives of many successful men and how their lives ended 20 years later.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is the Initiator

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P433 (4-19-19)

These callers called in to the original People to People radio program Bob George was on for over 30 years. Most of the questions were to get clarification of truth on some commonly misunderstood passages of scripture. Laurie asked, “Where do you place Melchizedek in Hebrews 6:16?” Oftentimes by simply reading the verses before and after a scripture that is unclear to you, you can discern what is important to understand in a passage. We often want to focus on a very narrow point rather than get the spiritual truth that Jesus wants you to know. Bob emphasized that Hebrews is about explaining the superiority of Jesus Christ. To the Jew, there is no one greater than Abraham. Hebrews clears this matter up by explaining that Melchizedek is greater than Abraham and Jesus s greater than everyone.

Edwin asked a very common question, typical of those who are new believers or those improperly instructed from religious teaching. He asked what is the difference between baptism of water and baptism of the Holy Spirit. By studying the scriptures the answer is very clear. John the Baptist even spoke of two baptisms in Luke 3:15-17.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Your Sins Have Been Forgiven by God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P427 (3-29-19)

Bob received a from Mark from Ketchner, Ontario asking about the meaning of the priesthood of believers. He also wanted to know if there is any association of the Catholic priesthood to the scriptures. Prior to the cross and throughout the Old Covenant, the Levites were the only priests in existence. The Roman Catholic priesthood came much later and is a man-made tradition. When Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross, he initiated a New Covenant with men, abolishing the Old Covenant with all its animal sacrifices and need for priests to carry out those duties for a temporary covering for sin. For a Catholic priest to say that he can absolve sins of man is heretical teaching. For such a Catholic system of sacrifice to exist today is in total contrast to God’s word. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. What basis is there for a continual, unbloody sacrifice of the mass? None! Jesus Christ sacrifice, his blood shed on the cross, was once and for all, and all sufficient to take away the sins of the world. No other sacrifice is needed nor is there any sacrifice besides the death of Jesus on the cross that can take away sin.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P425 (3-22-19)

Bob George received calls from several callers who had questions about forgiveness, dealing with bitterness, understanding the assurance of forgiveness from God, and in regards to being single-minded on the truth of God’s word. As a believer, a new creation in Christ, you can be assured all your sins are forgiven, never to remembered anymore in the sight of God, and you have eternal life. You were never saved by your actions in the first place. You became a believer when you placed your faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone, through his death, burial and resurrection. Furthermore, all your sins were in the future when he died. Yet, it is so common for believers to be narrowly focused on what seemingly unclear scripture and get overcome with anxiety on such things. In the sight of God your sins will never be taken into account. Satan, though, will accuse you before the throne of God when you do sin. And when he does, Jesus Christ is right there reminding Satan of what was done for us by Christ. Jesus C Christ died to pay for your sin. There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Life

Classic Christianity Radio – (03-20-19) – Part 3

Bob George shares how in Christ we have forgiveness, righteousness and life. The law brought death but God brought life through Jesus Christ. We were dead in our transgressions and sins but God made us alive with Christ. God does not send anyone to hell. People just remain spiritually dead because they refuse to come to Christ for life. Only Jesus Christ can provide life, eternal life, to mankind. Whoever believes in Jesus is not condemned to death but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in God’s one and only begotten Son. Bob spent some time explaining what spiritual death is and how that came about through Adam’s choice to sin. Bob then explains man’s need of new spiritual recreation, a spiritual new birth unto new life in Christ. This new spiritual birth is what Jesus spoke about with Nicodemus in John 3. Bob continues to explain what coming to Jesus Christ for life means.

There are a lot of people who want to come to Jesus Christ to get forgiveness because they do not want to go to hell. So a lot of little kids coming to Jesus because they do not want to go to hell.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
