As you ponder over scripture, looking up all the passages you can find on the Holy Spirit, you will have a deeper understanding of your identity in Christ, how the Holy Spirit indwells you, if you are born again, and how the Spirit will guide you into all truth, and how He is your Counselor and best friend. You will discern that the Holy Spirit is alive, living in you, and you have the privilege to participate in the divine nature, to allow and rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. Synopsis

To grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is important that we do not rely on what a denominational persuasion says, whether Baptist, Catholic, or Presbyterian, or whatever else it might be. Nor should we rely on what the early church fathers said, what Polycarp, John Wesley or Martin Luther said. Nor do we blindly rely on People to People or whatever common ministry is out there today. If what someone says is in agreement with truth as revealed by the Spirit of God through the word of God, then certainly hold onto such truth, for that is revealed by the Spirit of God, who does not lie.

Ultimately, we need to study the word of God for ourselves, as Paul commended the people of Berea for doing, for they diligently studied the scriptures to see if what he said was so, and they only had the Old Testament scriptures available to them in their day. Synopsis

It can be difficult to sort out truth from error. It is sort of like brainwashing. The more often you have heard something repeated, so often that you believed it to be true, it seems so much harder to be convinced that you were deceived. That is so true today in the world we live in with lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccine passports. But it is also true in the religious world where people hold onto false concepts such as election and tithing for today. Indeed there is a correlation or overlap between the religious and secular worlds. Those who are deceived in the things of this world tend also to be the same ones deceived in regard to the spiritual realm as well. For the spiritual realm has practical implications. But Jesus also warned us in his word to let no man deceive you, and that in the last days, even the elect would be deceived if that were possible.

People in all backgrounds are looking for purpose and meaning in life, whether you were brought up in a religious background or were in the habit of rejecting God, calling yourself an atheist. But there comes a time where you realize that this yearning in your heart for acceptance and love is not working. In that process, you hear a message about Christ or you pick up a bible and start reading. There you learn that Christ is the answer all along.

As you are getting your mind renewed, you may be confused for a while, because, if you came from a religious background, you are beginning to wonder about what you had been taught. Things just do not make sense. A pastor commits adultery. That in itself is alarming to you, when he is supposed to be a believer, and believers are not supposed to do that,and certainly not a pastor, whom you are relying on. Another pastor is preaching about tithing. And you are not even sure if that is what you are supposed to be doing or not. The church you grew up in never mentioned tithing. In this world it seems things are constantly changing, and almost instantaneously. We have election fraud, a so-called C pandemic, an earthquake here and there, a tornado, or some other disaster, and a war about to break out in a moment’s notice. And we have a push for all people to just get along, regardless of whatever you believe, for that is just your opinion, as people would say. It is also so easy to get your mind, as an American, to spend all your energy and time to restore America. And to do that, people can forget their purpose as an ambassador for Christ, to represent God in a foreign land, to proclaim the gospel without compromise.

Now, if we study our bible, Jesus tells us ahead of time what we can expect, and to not be alarmed, or afraid, when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, for the end is not right away. So, it is so easy for us to lose sight of what God has commanded us to do, to love one another even as He loved us. Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P38 (05-04-21)

Synopsis

How can mortal man know God? Who can know the thoughts of God, the one who created all there is, who spoke the world and the universe into existence, and who created us? What is it about mankind that we ponder things of eternity, asking questions such as “Why am I here?”, “Where am I going when I die?” and “What is the meaning and purpose of life?” There is a general notion of emptiness, of a certain longing inside of mankind, to be made complete.

Why does mankind form religions to attempt to answer these questions of life? There is a conscience built into mankind, knowing that murder is wrong, knowing that stealing is wrong? So man instinctively knows the law. But man, being weak in his natural self, cannot obey the law. He thinks he can improve himself and ultimately appease some God out there, a God he does not personally know, but instead substitutes a god of his own imagination, not based on truth.

So what does man do? He makes up his own ideas, leans on his own understanding, and when he hears a message of grace, his first inclination is to reject it, for it is contrary to all the worldly patterns of thinking ingrained in him, that he must do something to be made acceptable to God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
