Faith is a Responder to the Grace of God

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P2 (04-21-20)

Synopsis

So these three remain; faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. Although we cannot produce love, in Christ we have been given the privilege to participate in the divine nature. We participate in the divine nature by abiding in Christ, trusting him to do through us what we could never do, as Jesus explained to us in John 15. So this love is to reach out to people, to share the message of Christ, to serve in the spiritual gifts God has given us, to serve the body, to give a cup of water in the name of Christ, and any of those things God has led us to do by the Spirit He has given us.

We have been made a new creation in Christ, so this labor is prompted by the love of God that has been poured into our hearts, imploring every man to be made complete in Christ. We have this hope in us, this promise of God, that when we are absent from the body, we are present with the Lord. This life is temporary, so our … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P1 (04-20-20)

Synopsis

Listen as Bob George shares a message on faith, hope and love. Have you ever noticed that whenever you read about love, you will see it together with faith and hope. Just like the Trinity, Father, Son and holy Spirit, it is there as a triplicate. What comes to mind when you think about love? Is it something we can produce in the energy of our flesh? No. Why do you suppose faith and hope in Christ Jesus is so vital to even love one another as Christ loved you? We love because He first loved us.

God is the initiator. We are the responder. He initiated His love to us when He sent His Son to do something for us that we could not even do for ourselves. We were born spiritually dead, without hope and without the love of God in our hearts. Have you ever noticed that a dead person cannot raise himself from the dead? That is how we were born. How then are we to respond?

Did you know that sin is what caused our death? As long as we are … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Saved by Life

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P17 (12-03-19)

Synopsis

God has always wanted man to live by faith, to trust Him. The root of all sin is that man chose not to trust God, to believe what God has said. Man has chosen for himself what is right and wrong, independent of God. That is how sin entered the world. Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and that affected the entire human race. Now every person is born in the likeness of Adam in his sinful, broken state. All have sinned and all have died.

That is why Jesus came to this world, to save us from the condition of death, death to God, a separation from God in what was once a trusting and loving relationship between God and man. So God came to first take away the cause of death, which is sin, in order to offer new life to man. Salvation is new life in Christ, the Spirit of God to be placed back into man, to restore what was lost in the garden of Eden. This new life is received by faith, trust in God’s provision of his … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is Truth - Truth is Truth

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P9 (11-06-19)

Synopsis

In this world we live in, of political correctness, there is a strong pull to cave into the thinking of the world. You also have television that tries to convince you how fun something is. You have the soap operas and the commercials after big events such as the Super Bowl. All these influences that tempt us to not hold onto the knowledge of the truth. But we are instructed in scripture to hold onto truth.

So Bob shares truth from the scriptures. Currently we are studying Romans 1:28-32. This is what God says about these matters, of what perversion is, such as homosexual activity, and how it forms in the human heart.

We see someone who is caught in sin, a sin as devastating as homosexuality. Now, it is sin because that is what God calls it. God calls it perversion. Adultery is sin. Worry is sin. A Christian can be caught up in any sinful behavior, even the sin of homosexuality. All that it takes is to listen to the voice of Satan and give into a lie that this is something I have never done. You hear the … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
