Forgiveness Does Not Produce Life

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P35 (01-28-19)

Synopsis

So often when people grow up in a church background, error is being taught. There are those teachings that keep us bound under law, by the mixing of law and grace, preventing people from walking freely in the new life God has given to those who have believed. Then there are those teachings that are serious doctrinal error. Many a person has walked down an aisle to receive forgiveness of sins, for that is what they have been taught. So the doctrine of salvation is taught in error.

Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven and that is it. Romans 5:10 and Ephesians 1:7 are key verses that, understood in context, explain this more clearly what Jesus accomplished for us, in what salvation is. When you were His enemies, lost, you were reconciled. How? By his death on a cross. How was what provided for then, at the cross, received? In Him. In Him, you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Salvation is the receiving the life of Christ Jesus. The cross without the resurrection is meaningless, for the apostle Paul spoke to the Corinthians, that without the resurrection you are to be pitied of all men, and are still dead in your sins (1 Corinthians 15:17-20).… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

When we are born again, we have become a new creation. As we study God’s word, letting the Spirit reveal truth to us, we just cannot help but thank God for His amazing grace, with total unconditional acceptance and love. We have truly been made complete in Christ. All of us have been taught things, error from our former life, that often carry with us in our new life in Christ until our minds are renewed with truth. Many times we can remain in error for much of our life because we fail to study God’s word or remain in a church that reinforces false teaching. So many people get caught up in the burden of having to tithe, as if tithing is for today. They are told that if they are not tithing they are robbing God. Knowing God is Knowing Jesus

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P33 (01-22-19)

Synopsis

Mankind was created by God to be in a loving relationship of trust. We were to trust God, the one who created us. Mankind was created with free will so we can choose to love God. But since the fall of mankind, we have his sin-indwelling flesh, that is in conflict with the Spirit. The flesh does not trust the Spirit.

It seems that those who are uneducated, the poor or the slaves are much more likely to depend on God. You may notice the black spirituals in the days of slavery where the blacks relied so much on God, for that is all they had. I was just talking with my sister who observed a nursing home that was the most poorly funded and had few equipment available to help the elderly. They were the most kind-hearted and grateful people compared to the other nursing homes in the area that had so much more.

In the time of Christ Jesus, the lame, the sick, those with leprosy, and the downtrodden came to Christ before the religious Jews or the wealthy. Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P31 (01-20-19)

Synopsis

In Romans, the apostle Paul explains to us the nature of fallen man, how man is not only a sinner but spiritually dead and in need of life. Paul explained this in great detail, in regards to both the Jew, who pursued a righteousness as if it were by works, and a Gentile, who was so far removed from the things of God, the most heathenistic people there is, with temple worship and all kinds of promiscuity and evil behavior. The Gentiles were set aside while God is working with the Jews through the law and the Old Covenant he established. But then Paul is appointed to bring the gospel to the Gentile world, as God promised through the prophets of Old. So, to the Jew and the Gentile, God formed one new body out of both the Jew and the Gentile, called the Ecclesia, the people of God, made up of the those who are born again, made into a new creation by Christ, by believing the message of Christ.

Jesus is The Gospel of Good News

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P30 (01-15-19)

Synopsis

Paul is appealing to men to come to Christ for life. Are you weary or heavy laden? There is good news for you. God is there to give peace and rest to your soul. It is so vitally important to understand the totality of salvation, the gospel, the good news, that you can be made complete in Christ.

There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. God is love, and love keeps no records of wrongs. There is no more record of sins. Why? God sent His Son into this world to die on a cross. The blood of Jesus’ shed blood was of such eternal value that it took away the sins of the entire world. He reconciled the world unto Himself, not counting our sins against Him. God remembers our sins no more because that one offering of Christ Jesus was sufficient to take away the consequence of sin, which is death, for the entire world.

Now, the death of Christ, as great as that is, to take away the consequence of sin, which is death, how much greater is His resurrection from the dead? Come to Jesus for Life

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P29 (01-14-19)

Synopsis

Recall that in Romans, Paul explains the purpose of the law and explains what God did to bring salvation to fallen mankind. He goes on to explain law and grace. In doing so, he anticipates the common questions that man would ask.

Romans 6:1
1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

Romans 6:15 (NASB)
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!

Romans 7:7
7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful?

Paul answers these questions, explaining the grace of God, the totality of the cross, the resurrection, and how man is made complete in Christ. Still today, there is much confusion on what salvation is. You have numerous denominations out there, and what they could be telling you is true or not true. How would you know?

The Holy Spirit reveals truth to men, and truth is revealed to you through his word. So a lost person cannot discern the things of God because they are spiritually discerned.
