Focus on Jesus

Classic Christianity – The Book of John P26 (04-04-23)

Focus on Jesus ~ Turn Your Eyes on Jesus

~ Jesus said, “If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.” John 5:46

“And what Christ said, is to focus on Him, to turn your eyes upon Jesus and to look full in his wonderful face. And the things of the world will grow strangely dim in the light of his wonder and grace to keep your eyes upon Jesus. And what that is meaning is to focus on Christ, he should be the focus of everything that we do, and everything that we say, in this life. And he came into the world to tell people this truth. And there was rebellion against that, because their focus was on something else, their focus, in this particular case, was on their religion, on their traditions, and on the teaching of Moses, and on the person of Moses. And so they would have been saying, Look, we’re followers of Moses, not you. And so he was saying to them, that I’m not going to accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, the very person that you … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is Light - Place Faith in Him

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P8 (02-23-21)

Synopsis

The word of God points to Jesus Christ. Inasmuch as Jesus is alive, His word is alive. You cannot separate those because when God says something, it is a total reflection of His being, unlike us. So God is living and God is active. He is alive and so God’s word is living and is active.

The word of God had to be confirmed and it was, but all scripture points to Jesus, in what He came to do for us through His death, burial and resurrection for us, so we may live a new life. All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, correction, rebuke and training in righteousness. The word of God that we hold in our hands will teach us. Teach us what? Truth. That will do what? Set us free. It is teaching for rebuking what is taught. We have gone off the road, and it tells us we are off the road. It is useful for correcting. What is that? Getting you back on the road. Training for righteousness. What is that? Keeping you on the road. So the word … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Said to Believe in Him

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P3 (02-10-21)

Synopsis

You cannot separate the word of God from the person of Jesus Christ. If you will not or cannot believe the word of God is absolutely true, then how are you going to know if any of it is true, including truth about Christ Jesus. So how can we ever rest in salvation in the one who came to save us if we are not certain the book that recorded that salvation is true. So if it is true as it relates to the person of Jesus Christ, it has to be true in regard to what Christ claimed about every word He held in His hand.

The entire testimony of the bible rests upon the author, and that is Christ Jesus. The credibility of the book rests in the credibility of the author. Jesus said the word is totally true. Listen now as Bob George reads eyewitness accounts of those who had been with Jesus when He walked on the earth. What testimony do we have from Jesus’ own words concerning the Old Testament scriptures He held in His hands? What importance did He place … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Looks at Your Heart

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 28 (06-03-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues teaching from the gospel of John. Currently, he is reading from John 6, picking up after where Jesus just fed five thousand men, not including women and children, on a few loaves of bread and two fish. This whole section here is the key to understanding who you are in Christ Jesus. As you read John 6, notice the response of the Jews. They did not seek to know God but only sought Jesus to have their bellies filled. Seek spiritual food that endures unto eternal life. Let us not seek the Holy Spirit, the Father or an experience but get to know Jesus, that He is God. Do not be proud of heart, but ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you. God look at the attitudes of your heart and not as man sees. He wants to give new life to you. Consider what Jesus is trying to reveal to man about himself, that he is dead and in need of life. That is why he came from heaven, for man to recognize his state of spiritual death and come to Christ for new spiritual food … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
