Take Off The Grave Clothes

Classic Christianity – The Book of John P52 (06-05-23)

Take Off The Grave Clothes!

~ Many people today are walking around with their old grave clothes hanging on to them. They live as though they are still under the law, pretending, being hypocrites that they are somehow obeying the law of God. They have one foot in the law and the other foot in grace, trying to straddle both sides of the fence, holding on to the old grave clothes.

~ The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” John 11:44

~ “The purpose of the law was a mirror to show me my face is dirty. But you cannot wash your face in a mirror. You use the mirror to identify your condition. And then you turn to Christ Jesus for the cleansing, do you not? You don’t go to a wash rag to see if your face is dirty. You go to a mirror, you go to the wash rag to cleanse your face. And so the law was given as a reflection, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Born Again by Faith in Jesus

Classic Christianity – The Book of John P51 (05-31-23)

When You Are Born Again, The Holy Spirit Comes to Live in You Immediately!

~ We are told once again that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus. And for us (those who place faith in Jesus), resurrection happens immediately upon being born again of the Spirit of God. God’s Spirit brings life to our spiritual death. We have eternal life at that very moment in time.

~ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25

~ “But Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. And he who believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever lives and believes in me, will never die. Now there again, he’s talking about two completely different kinds of death. I’m the resurrection and the life and whosoever believes in me, though he were dead, well you can’t believe in someone when you’re dead physically, can … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is The Resurrection and The Life - Believe in Him

Classic Christianity – The Book of John P50 (05-30-23)

Jesus Is The Resurrection

~ Jesus is our Resurrection! When you place faith in Jesus, he raises you immediately from the dead spiritually. On this side of the cross, you become born again of the Spirit of God. His Spirit, gives life to you that is eternal. Jesus provided a physical example of a spiritual truth. Even though we die (sleep in Christ Jesus) we live eternally with him forever. Someday we receive a new body that is waiting for us. For flesh and blood cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

~ “Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” John 11:23-27

The Will of God is Believe in Jesus

Classic Christianity – The Book of John P49 (05-29-23)

Jesus Came to Explain What the Word of God Means

~ There are those walking around today that can spout out the word of God left and right and still don’t have a clue what the word of God means. They are dead lost. In fact, they will live their lives as though God is telling them to kill Goliath, when in reality God has a new set of commands that very few obey; believing in Jesus. Many still pick and choose from the old testament, certain things that God said. They act like Moses, when God told Moses to speak to the rock for water, and instead he struck the rock twice [Numbers 20:7-12].

~ “But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of Listen to Broadcast & Read More

A Living Sacrifice

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Your Identity in Christ P50 (07-05-22)

If You Are in Christ, Offer Your Body as a Living Sacrifice

We need to be often reminded, that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. If a person is in Christ Jesus, and Christ is in you, we are told that we are the temple of God. As such, we are to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, that is holy and acceptable to God not based on what we do or what we don’t do, but because God has made us that way. He has made our bodies holy and blameless in His sight.

Romans 12:1
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Jesus is Our Sabbath Rest for Those in Christ

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Your Identity in Christ P49 (07-04-22)

Rest From Our Works

So many times, whether lost or saved, people get of the mindset, that they need to work for God. For the lost person, it is simply part of who they are. They are out there trying to perform for God in order for God to do something for them. But the Christian is in a similar mindset also. Especially in light of all the teaching of error that is going on in the pulpit today. However, we are told to enter into the Sabbath Rest. And that is what the book of Hebrews talks about.

Hebrews 4:9-11
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
