Julie, the first caller, is a believer, but is walking according to the flesh, in obvious and blatant sin, because she has a faulty belief system and had made the same wrong choices. Therefore, she was not experiencing God’s love, joy, peace, patience, the fruit of the Spirit, that God wants for her. The second caller, Chip, called simply to thank Bob, recounting the early years, when he approached memorizing scriptures but without understanding its meaning, and so was bound up living in error. He was very grateful to Bob for his teaching of the New Covenant that helped transform his thinking and manner of living. The third caller, Katie, was experiencing anxiety and understandably so since her husband walked away from her marriage after 2 years. Bob gives her practical advise, basic insight into the root cause of marital problems, the encouragement to think truthfully, and take one day at a time. He offers real answers to real problems with truth from God’s word. The first caller, Niles, is a father with six children, struggling in his marriage. Bob asked several questions to help him discern whether his wife is a born again believer. He gave practical advice in either case. If she is not born again, then he is unequally yoked and she does not have the ability to discern the things of God nor would she be inclined to do so. But, if both are believers, then as the leader of the home, he can approach his wife and appeal to her to study the scriptures together to get God’s wisdom, to ask God what he thinks about the subject of contention. Join Bob George as he takes calls from listeners on the original People to People radio program for over 30 years. Tedd called to ask about if it was okay to date a girl who is in Catholic Church and he belongs to a different Church. Bob answers by addressing Tedd’s lack of time reading God’s word and not knowing the scriptures. Someone who is a child of God will grow as they read and ponder over God’s word letting the Holy Spirit teach him. But, in case Tedd did not know the Lord, Bob explained the simple gospel message. He then provided a practical suggestion to help both him and his girlfriend to hear truth from scriptures. The second caller, Dale, heard a sermon by a preacher that cited Luke 15 as scripture supporting the concept of a believer being able to be in and out of fellowship with God. Although the caller did not agree with the pastor, he wanted clarification from Bob on the meaning of Luke 15. Bob graciously answered by explaining a common problem in people applying scripture by determining truth from human experience. The second caller, Jack, a relatively new believer, was puzzled why there are so many different interpretations among different churches. It seemed strange for that to be when the Spirit guides the believer into all truth. Beginning with that very verse, Bob answers his question. The third caller, Vivian, called to thank Bob for his teaching of truth that set her free from 40 years of guilt. But her question was about why she has a lack of awareness of the Holy Spirit in her. Some callers, like James, ask a question concerning a certain general sin in the world, but deep down they are sharing because they are feeling an emptiness or weight of guilt in their own life because of some own past sin they are remembering. As Bob George simply answers questions, many times, the person feels freedom to share more about their own struggle. As Bob shares with James, he hears the hope that is presented to him in Christ Jesus and becomes a child of God, a new creation in Christ. Other callers, such as Rene, ask a question about a teaching on a verse she has heard that puzzles her. Many times a person is being persuaded to believe a lie from a group, church or organization. Bob George answers Andy’s question in regards to the proper application of the 10 commandments by sharing truth revealed in scripture. In Galatians 3:19-24 is where we learn about the purpose of the law.
