The Fathers Love

Classic Christianity – Fathers Day Part 3 (06-21-19)

Bob George teaches a Father’s day message. From the spelling of “Father”, Bob shares characteristics of a father. These characteristics in a father have great impact on our children. Those same things also apply to mothers.

F – Faithfulness

A – Attentiveness

T – Truthfulness and Thankfulness

H – Helpful

E – Encouraging

R – Respectful

Let us take a closer look at encouraging.

As parents, we should be encouraging our children. We live in such a competitive age, that even young children are being recruited for the big leagues. What does the child need? Criticism? No, encouragement. What ever happened to children just going out to play and have fun? When is it okay to tell Johnny it is okay to not be as good as the other child?

1 Timothy 6:9-12

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

You Are of More Value to God

Classic Christianity – Fathers Day Part 2 (06-20-19)

Bob George teaches a Father’s day message. From the spelling of “Father”, Bob shares characteristics of a father. These characteristics in a father have great impact on our children. Those same things also apply to mothers.

F – Faithfulness

A – Attentiveness

T – Truthfulness and Thankfulness

H – Helpful

E – Encouraging

R – Respectful

Closely related to attentiveness is truthfulness and thankfulness.

So how do I pass these things to my children? We do this with an attitude of truthfulness. I need to teach my children truth I and also need to teach them to be thankful in all things. This is all a part of being attentive to your children.

Look at Paul’s attitude.

Romans 1:8-12
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. 9 God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you 10 in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus God is The Faithful One

Classic Christianity – Fathers Day Part 1 (06-19-19)

Bob George teaches a Father’s day message. From the spelling of “Father”, Bob shares characteristics of a father. These characteristics in a father have great impact on our children. Those same things also apply to mothers.

F – Faithfulness

A – Attentiveness

T – Truthfulness and Thankfulness

H – Helpful

E – Encouraging

R – Respectful

These characteristics are God’s characteristics. Because you are children of God they are passed on to you. If you do not understand God’s forgiveness, how are we going to forgive others. If we do not understand God’s love for us, how can we pass that love onto others. All of those things discussed here are characteristics that we as parents should be involved in. This is first of all how God deals with you and me. Therefore, we are in the position of receiving in order to give just as Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We remain attached to the vine so that what is produced by the vine is borne on the branches. Apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15).

Let us look more closely at faithfulness.

2 Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Big God

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 35 (06-18-19)

Bob George shares from the gospel of John. He shares briefly what we have learned so far. Beginning with John 1 up until we pick up again in John 7, verse 14, we discovered quite a lot about Jesus. We read about how Jesus is the living word that came down from heaven. We read that he claimed to be God. He said that he is the the bread of life and the living water. We read that he demonstrated that he is God by the miracles that were performed through him. We read that he only did what he saw His Father doing, and said only what His Father told him to say and how to say it. He fulfilled the Father’s will perfectly, and at the right time. Numerous times he said his time had not yet come. He was truly the Spirit-filled man, who was the perfect model of how man was designed to live.

From studying the life and character of Jesus, we can come to believe he is God, that he alone is righteous and we were born spiritually dead and in need of life. The prerequisite to coming to know God is an attitude in our heart to want to know and do God’s will.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Believe in Jesus Not Your Belief System

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 34 (06-17-19)

Bob George continues teaching from the gospel of John. Bob shared from the scripture that when your desire is to do God’s will then you will in the right attitude to believe in who Jesus claimed to be. Do you really want to do God’s will or do you want what you want and when you want it? If you have heard God’s word, are you willing to trust what you heard? Or, are you inclined to trust the words of men over the word of God? Are you persuaded that the one who said he is God really is God? If you do then you would know how mankind was created and you would not believe in evolution. You know the Holy One of God and you know that what he says is true and believe what he says. Even though Jesus is not walking on the earth today, the divine word has been recorded down for us as men were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit resides in people who have believed the message of Christ and accepted his offer of eternal life. They have been adopted into the family of God, the body of Christ, who is the head of the church.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Holy Spirit Life

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 33 (06-12-19)

Bob George explains from John 6 what Jesus meant when he said to eat his flesh and drink his blood (John 6:53-59). In the natural mind, it sounds like he is teaching cannibalism. The natural man understands nothing but the spiritual man understands everything. Jesus is not teaching cannibalism at all nor is he saying that we are to ingest a wafer offered by a priest in order to have the life of Christ. You do not mix the natural with the spiritual. Flesh and blood do not inherit the kingdom of God. The Spirit gives life and the flesh counts for nothing. Jesus is speaking about spiritual food. He is explaining that he is the bread of life, not a physical piece of bread, but that he is the Holy one of God who has the words of eternal life, spiritual food man desperately needs to live forever. Whoever believes that he came from heaven and has a message from heaven will follow him to the cross and to the empty tomb. The lost man comes to understand he is spiritually dead and in need of life, and the only life available to him is the resurrected life of Jesus Christ.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
