Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P626 (04-16-21)

Synopsis

It seems in today’s church world or religious world, people do not know what it means to rest. It seems people are either working for their salvation, which is an impossibility, or are trying to double up their efforts in the church to be certain they are pleasing to God. The first question to be asked is, “Do you know what salvation is?” That is where you start. Do you know the totality of the cross, what is accomplished for you and me? Do you know the meaning of the resurrection? Do you know if you are made complete in Christ, being made a child of God, with a new identity, with the Spirit of God living in you? Have you entered the Sabbath rest as spoken about in Hebrews?

And as you come to Christ, realize that you still have sin-indwelling flesh. You are not going to perfect your flesh, or make it better. No, you overcome your flesh by the Spirit, by loving one another. But love is not something you conjure up. Love is a fruit of the Spirit, which comes from a dynamic relationship with the living God, who is love, and is alive living in you, if you are born again.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P625 (04-15-21)

Synopsis

Sometimes we can get off focus on what is really important in life, what God has called us to do in regard to being fishers of men, to reach out with love and truth for the souls of men. We can spend endless hours trying to figure out end time prophecies, and as interesting as that might be, the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Yes, we should read Revelation and not avoid it, but everything in proper perspective. God’s word certainly tells us that anyone who reads the words of the prophecy and takes it to heart what is written in it is blessed. So He certainly wants us to read it with that in mind. God wants us prepared but not scared.

Then there is our neighbor or relative who does not know Christ. If you got a call from a friend, who at one time in his life rejected God, or even mocked the things of God, but all of a sudden there is a change in attitude in him. He is being drawn by the Spirit of God, expressing to you an emptiness he is feeling in his life, and how he has been recently listening to things of scripture and is beginning to wonder if he should accept Christ into his heart.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P30 (04-14-21)

Synopsis

As we live in this world today, how much more are you aware of the increased evil in our day, than even what was observed in Bob George’s time here on earth? Are you surprised by it? Should you be? Was the world ever our friend? So how are you responding to the difficult trials and tribulations you are facing today? How solid a foundation has been laid in Christ Jesus in your life?

Did Jesus warn you about the days ahead when he walked the earth, even about the events that are unfolding before our very eyes? Consider what was written down in Matthew 24 and 2 Timothy 3. What were His last words to us before ascending back to His Father, that we will be able to stand in the day of evil? Consider what He said in John 15 and 16. What was His prayer for us? Consider what He prayed in John 17. What did He give us, that if we grab a hold of that truth, and depend on Him, and believe His words, respond in faith, that we can rise above our circumstances?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P29 (04-13-21)

Synopsis

Is the bible relevant for today? Are there contradictions? What evidence do you have that it can be trusted, that it is the word of God, truth that will set us free? Have you found the bible to be useful for doctrine, correction, reproof and training in righteousness?

We have heard the testimony of God concerning His word. We have read what the apostles, the eyewitnesses of the risen Savior have said. We have read what the prophets had to say, and how truth was revealed to them through dreams and visions and various and sundry ways. But today, we have heard truth for ourselves through the Holy Spirit He has given us. Today, there is no new revelation. The Lord has spoken to us through His Son.

So what is the condition of your heart? Until the Spirit of God reveals truth to you, you are not going to understand it anyway. All the persuasiveness of man combined is not going to challenge a hard heart, a heart that does not want to receive truth from the word of God. But I have better hope for you, you who have a humble and teachable heart.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P28 (04-12-21)

Synopsis

So we are to avoid those who teach things contrary to sound doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ. Instead, we are to rely on the Holy Spirit, who lives in us, to reveal truth to our innermost being, so we can walk in the newness of life. For it is for freedom that Christ set us free. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

Does your heart yearn to know the truth? Consider the parables of the lost coin, the lost sheep, and the prodigal son. What do these stories tell us about the heart of God, His love and acceptance of us, His compassion and understanding of us in our weak and dead condition. He seeks out the sinner that he might restore him back to Himself. Such is the love of God. Indeed, we love because He first loved us. He initiated His love to us first, and we respond to that love.

So the Holy Spirit teaches us about the love of God, that we may walk as Jesus did. Jesus walked in perfect love. God is Spirit, God is love, and love is the fulfillment of the law.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P624 (04-09-21)

Synopsis

As a new believer, you will tend to have more of a struggle in overcoming sinful habits, and that is not unusual, as you are just now on the starting line of having your mind renewed. Even as you mature in Christ, you will continue in that process of having your mind renewed until the day we meet the Lord. We will all continue to battle the flesh, and God knows our weaknesses and tendencies. We are all reminded to guard our life and doctrine closely and take heed that we do not fall, and to be gentle and humble toward others, as we ourselves could easily get caught up in any sin ourselves. Sometimes we just need that person who can point us to that unconditional love and acceptance from God. And along with allowing God to do that through us, we are firm with truth while gently guiding the humble of heart to grab a hold of such truth that will set them free. We can learn to walk in the new life of freedom God has called us to.

The word of God is useful for all of this training in righteousness we need.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
