Classic Christianity – Book of John p4 (10-17-18)

Bob George TeachingBob George, continues his teaching from God’s word from the book of John. He has a passion to share insight from God’s word to help the listener walk in true freedom. Beginning with this very passage, Bob elaborates on foundation principles for walking in freedom. How do you overcome fear, depression and anxiety? These are problems common to all men, and Jesus alone knows how we are made and has the solution. Then, after a short break, he speaks on a subject titled “Prepared or Scared”. He exhorts believers to be prepared for tribulation to come and the importance of spiritual training, contrasting the training offered in the natural realm, such as universities or the corporate world, with an appeal to believers to show yourself as an approved workman, rightly dividing the word of truth.

In the first half of the sermon, Bob elaborates on a passage in John 2:23-25.

John 2:23-25
Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name. But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of John-p3 (10-16-18)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues with his study on the book of John, sharing truth from God’s word that transforms lives with a message of God’s amazing grace. He is now in John 2, and mentions why certain events are in the other synoptic gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke, but not in John. The major focus on John is on the love of God so one will not read about the detailed account of Jesus temptation in the wilderness in John as in the other synoptic gospels. Bob highlights certain events recorded in John concerning in the early life of Jesus, such as the miracle at the wedding in Cana and clearing the temple. Bob emphasized the miracles of Jesus and mentioned it was vital to have proper understanding of the Jews response. Even though many believed in his name, Jesus would not entrust himself to them for he knew what was in a man (John 2:24). Bob asked the question that because they believed in his name, seeing the miracles, does that mean they were saved? Bob mentioned some other topics, such as drinking wine and virgin birth, that are commonly discussed in religious circles.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Bob George TeachingBob George continues his teaching from the book of John on the complete forgiveness and the love of God through Jesus Christ. Bob George shares to help the listener come to understand doctrine, particularly the concept of the trinity, as revealed through the book of John. His hope, and the hope of those in Christ, is for the listener to understand personally the forgiveness of sin and the receiving of new life in Christ. You can walk in that new life today. Bob emphasized again that truth is revealed to men through His word. There is no other way to understand the meaning of God’s word except by the Spirit of God.

Bob addresses such topics as knowing what the word of God means (doctrine), where the doctrine of the Trinity comes from, what does the Spirit look like, what do you believe and why do you believe it, the role of the Holy Spirit in teaching you the meaning of His word, the application of doctrine to your life, the conflict of the flesh and the Spirit, choices as a child of God, who can become a child of God, law and grace before Moses, law and punishment, atonement in contrast to the taking away of sin, who goes to hell and for what sin, judging others instead of seeing yourself in the light of Christ, unmet expectation of others, blindness of all men, darkness and light, cause of death and receiving of new life, the need of the cross, the forgiveness of sin, and the foundation of God’s love for you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call In Bob George p383 (10-11-18)

Bob George RadioBob George, on People to People radio for over 30 years, answers questions by several callers. The first caller, Sam, asks about a Muslim and what happens when he dies and then about those who have never heard, even those in a remote place. Larry, the second caller, asks about what it means to take up your cross and follow Christ. The final caller for today, John, asks a specific question about Romans 8:17 in regards to what it means to suffer with Christ?

Sam, the first caller asks about a Muslim, born in a Muslim nation, where would he go when he dies, heaven or hell? Bob explains that all countries were Christian nations at one time, and how Muhammad converted people to Muslim religion. But the real point he made was that it is not
about converting someone to a religion but converting someone to Christ. He then explains more thoroughly what Jesus Christ did, that is so unique and special that no religion really addresses, the condition of man in sin and the need to come to Christ for life. Truth revealed in scripture is what all men need to hear and understand in order to come to Christ.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

10/10/2018 – Book of John – part 1
Introduction to the Book of John

Bob George TeachingBob George continues discussing the complete forgiveness and unconditional love of Jesus Christ through the book of John. First, though he begins with a review of biblical interpretation. From 2 Timothy 3:16, he provides a framework of understanding what is meant by scriptures as being inspired by God. He explains that the original manuscripts are inspired and scriptures we have today are translations. Although translations are not inspired, they are translated from God’s inspired word of God into languages known by the reader. In particular, the Septuagint, a translation of the Old Testament Hebrew into Greek, often quoted by Jesus, is a trustworthy translation. Other translations exist today, and we have many in the English language so we can read in our own language.

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Bob George also made a specific point to quote from the King James Version to explain how one needs to show proper discernment when reading from a translation since only the original manuscripts are inspired.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
