Let Jesus Live His Life Through You

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P52 (03-09-20)

Synopsis

In Romans 12, we learned what true worship is. True worship is making your body available on a continual basis to Jesus, who lives in you, to live His life through you. It is giving access to Him. We were and never are able to live the Christian life. Jesus explained to us how we were created to function in the parable of the vine and the branches. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. The vine produces the fruit and the branch bears the fruit. The same way in the life of someone who is born again. We cannot produce the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Jesus living in us, is who produces the fruit. A branch can only bear the fruit, and the only way that it can bear the fruit is by abiding in the life of the vine to let it live its life in and through you. We cannot produce the fruit.

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P48 (02-26-20)

Paul addresses the attitudes of the heart in a believer, resulting in actions of love toward one another, the body of Christ. Christ Jesus is the head of the church and we are the body. As the body of Christ, we belong to one another, and should be acting in love for one another. When one part of the body hurts, we hurt with him. When one part of the body rejoices, we rejoice with him. We each are given spiritual gifts for building each other up; prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, and showing mercy. Even if one aspect is not our spiritual gift, we learn from one another, and become just as effective, as we observe how one another operates in their gift. In this way the body builds itself up in love as each part does its work. So let us look at these attitudes and actions of love; sincere in love, hating what is evil, clinging to what is good, being devoted to one another in love, honoring one another above ourselves, with spiritual fervor, serving the Lord, joyful always, praying continuously, giving thanks in all circumstances, helping those in need, and practicing hospitality.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

How hard it is to grasp this concept of grace! When you are lost, you just cannot understand that there is nothing you can do to make yourself acceptable to God. But many believers also struggle with this concept of grace that is spoken of in the New Covenant that God ushered in after his death, burial and resurrection. Even your best efforts fall short. Why? You are striving in the energy of your flesh, and not living under grace. The reaction that a lost person often has upon first hearing a message of grace is, “What do you mean there is nothing I can do to make myself acceptable to God? I have tried to obey the law.” A believer also does not always fully understand grace either. Often, upon reading God’s word, their mind is confused for awhile. They have not understood the words of Jesus in the Lord’s prayer, what Jesus said when he said, “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Often times, so many modern churches today co-mingle law and grace. That compounds the problem and hinders people from growing in grace. Jesus is Love

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P42 (02-12-20)

Synopsis

As children of God, we have the privilege to participate in the divine nature. Before, we did not have such a privilege, because you cannot participate in what you do not yet have, the Spirit of God living in you. But, everyone is born with free will. Adam and Eve were born with the choice to love God or to choose for themselves what is right and wrong, and good and evil. When they chose wrong, sin and death entered this world, the Spirit of God left mankind, for all have sinned, and all have died.

So since the fall of Adam, we were all born spiritually dead, without the Spirit of God living in us. Then Jesus took away the cause of death, which is sin, by becoming sin for us, when he shed his blood on a cross. Now, man has a choice to accept the life of Christ. For when Jesus rose from the dead, he now offers eternal life, the same life that raised him from the dead, to all who will come to him to receive that life. Synopsis

Bob George receives calls from several callers. Monte was specifically asked to come on the program to share his testimony of God’s grace. He had a hard time accepting the grace of God because of his horrible life he lived. He had been caught up in drugs, and in and out of jail, since he was young. He was literally pushing a shopping cart around here in Vancouver at three in the morning trying to get his next fix. Yet when he came to understand the grace of God, and became born again, his life was dramatically changed.

Bob explained how hard it is for people to understand grace. He explained that Romans 7 is the passage of scripture that to him explains grace. For in Romans we read how Paul testified that he was in sins grasp, for what he knew what was right to do he could not do and the wrong he did not want to do, he did anyway. Bob George teaches from John 6. Bob shares that the humble of heart are the ones the Father gives to Jesus, whom the Father draws and enables to be saved. The humble have come to the end of themselves, their philosophy, their religion, or their best efforts. Their circumstances, such a divorce or loss of income, and world view of life all came crashing down on them to lead them to the point of despair or frustration. They humbled themselves and said to God, “I can’t but you can”. Now they are ready to turn to Jesus for the answer to life, that Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the life. But God resists the proud. The proud will not see God. The Father will not give the proud to Jesus for they will not trust him, they do not see their need of him and do not want Him. The proud is satisfied with their religion or tradition or insist that there are many ways to God.
