Synopsis

Bob George continues sharing from the 13^th chapter of John. Here is Peter, like all of us, born spiritually dead, without the spirit of God living in him, living in darkness. But who is he listening to? He is listening to the Light of the world, the man sent from heaven, sent to explain spiritual truth to him. Can he understand what Jesus is saying? No. Neither could we without the Spirit of God living in us. Yet truth is being explained to him. What does he decide to do with the very words of Jesus?

When someone is born again, having the Spirit of God living in him, what is supposed to happen? There is supposed to be a change that takes place. You become a new creation, not an old one. Many times that does not happen overnight. Conversion experiences are all over the place. For some people, their behavior changes immediately. With others, that change in behavior takes a while. Synopsis

The first caller, Anne, wanted to thank Bob for how he encouraged the previous caller, a man who was dying from cancer, to not make decisions based on fear and not to let the doctors or medical staff put fear in you. She had asked Bob if people should at least go more to the Lord instead of the medical profession or even pastors?

Bob and Anne both shared from personal experiences how much fear hospital staff and doctors put in you if you let them. Doctors will insist that if you do not do this or that procedure that you will have these consequences, that if you do not have open heart surgery that you will go into cardiac arrest. Te main point is that you do not let them drive your decision-making based on fear. You lean on the Lord for wisdom and understanding for the decisions you make.

Bob was in agreement with Anne on this matter. Both Anne and Bob shared much heart-breaking experiences of friends or relatives with cancer. A man dies much sooner than expected, and that even from something next to nothing, or a man suffers greater loss of quality of life by following the doctor’s advice, who often expresses the situation with fear, than if he just let the disease takes it course.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Bob George continues sharing from the gospel of John. He shared about how the disciples waited in Galilee to receive the promised Holy Spirit. That day they were born again. When they received the Holy Spirit, they were changed men. Before they were once cowardly and fearful, hiding in a room fearing for their lives, and now they are preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ boldly before men. There are those in the crowd who were drawn to hear the teachings of Jesus. So too was Nicodemus, a religious Pharisee. Unlike the other Pharisees, he wanted to know the will of God. Nicodemus had said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” The other Pharisees were like Communists or politicians of today, not wanting to hear truth, but just spin a story. They hated Jesus without reason. Jesus came full of grace and truth. This is very evident in John 8 in how he restores a woman caught in adultery. Bob George explains from the book of John what it means to be born again. When you are born again, scripture tells us that Spirit of God comes to live in you. In Romans, you read that without the Spirit of God you do not belong to Him.

Romans 8:9
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

You cannot be born again unless born of the Spirit.

John 3:34
For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

Jesus came to this earth, as God in the flesh, totally emptying himself of his divine attributes in order to show us what full dependence on the holy Spirit as a man looks like. Still fully God, Jesus came to speak the words of God.

Bob resumes the study of the gospel of John. He introduces John chapter 4, but first, he revisits John chapter 3. This is one of the most important chapters because it teaches us how to enter a brand new relationship with Christ Jesus. We not only come to him to be our Lord and Savior but also to be our teacher.

Bob shares again how man is already dead in sin, born in the nature of Adam. Man cannot give spiritual life to man because he does not have spiritual life in himself. But a man was sent from heaven to explain heavenly things to man. God sent Jesus to redeem man from the consequences of sin, which is death. Satan deceived man and man chose to believe the lie. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy but God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, not to condemn the world, but to save man through him. Man was condemned already. Man is dead and in need of life.
