The Humble Receive Grace

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 30 (06-05-19)

Bob George continues sharing truth from the book of John. He just shared about the reaction of the religious Jews about Jesus claims to be God. The proud of heart will not see God, but the humble will listen intently to his words unto eternal life. Jesus said, “You are looking at me and you are still not going to believe in me”. Your pride can be taken away by realizing that you cannot give yourself life and that you cannot take away your sins. You are ready for Jesus. If that is the case, then your coming to Christ is as close as a prayer. What happens in this day and age when we do not see him? We hear about Jesus today. Do all people respond? Who responds? The humble. The humble listen to his voice and call upon him for truth, as the Father draws him to all truth, the truth that brings salvation, eternal life, to the knowing of God intimately. Let the life of Christ live in and through you.

John 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is God I AM

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 29 (06-04-19)

Bob George teaches from John 6. Bob shares that the humble of heart are the ones the Father gives to Jesus, whom the Father draws and enables to be saved. The humble have come to the end of themselves, their philosophy, their religion, or their best efforts. Their circumstances, such a divorce or loss of income, and world view of life all came crashing down on them to lead them to the point of despair or frustration. They humbled themselves and said to God, “I can’t but you can”. Now they are ready to turn to Jesus for the answer to life, that Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the life. But God resists the proud. The proud will not see God. The Father will not give the proud to Jesus for they will not trust him, they do not see their need of him and do not want Him. The proud is satisfied with their religion or tradition or insist that there are many ways to God. For the Father only gives to Jesus those who are humble of heart, for they are the ones ready to listen to Him so as to trust him to receive new life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Looks at Your Heart

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 28 (06-03-19)

Bob George continues teaching from the gospel of John. Currently, he is reading from John 6, picking up after where Jesus just fed five thousand men, not including women and children, on a few loaves of bread and two fish. This whole section here is the key to understanding who you are in Christ Jesus. As you read John 6, notice the response of the Jews. They did not seek to know God but only sought Jesus to have their bellies filled. Seek spiritual food that endures unto eternal life. Let us not seek the Holy Spirit, the Father or an experience but get to know Jesus, that He is God. Do not be proud of heart, but ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you. God look at the attitudes of your heart and not as man sees. He wants to give new life to you. Consider what Jesus is trying to reveal to man about himself, that he is dead and in need of life. That is why he came from heaven, for man to recognize his state of spiritual death and come to Christ for new spiritual food that endures to eternal life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Asks of Us Lean Not on Your Own Understanding

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P445 (5-31-19)

Tony asked for understanding of a conversation he had with people who believed that the apostle Paul was the only person with the mystery of the gospel. Bob instructed him to stay away from such erroneous teaching and rely on the Spirit to teach you and trust Him to complete the work he started in you. Think about Ephesians 3:5 and 2 Timothy 3:16 for example. Bob then answered his question about priesthood and ambassadors. Those in Christ Jesus are ambassadors for Christ, since our citizenship is in heaven, representatives of God on earth and our priestly function, with the Spirit living in us, is to represent Christ to the lost and the lost to Christ. Aaron got into a conversation with Bob, agreeing that scare tactics is not an effective way of evangelizing. Bob addressed that the heart of the gospel is the resurrection. Bob personally addresses the person’s need of new life first, and if the person then does not accept or agree, then it would be fine to address the matter of their being on their way to hell in unbelief, but he would not start there. Ed called to ask about how to pray so as not to be begging him for things.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Work God Requires

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P444 (5-30-19)

John asked what works is, wanting clarification on James 2:14. Bob explained that you need to base your theology on the totality of the New Covenant, that salvation is not based on our works but on the finished work of Jesus Christ alone, we are not in the fruit inspection business, and our role is to simply abide on the vine. Bob also shared about the basic problem of religion. Andy called for Bob’s thinking on an evangelism technique that uses scare tactics, showing a dramatization of what hell would look like. Bob would not use such a tactic for it is a wrong motivation to come to Christ and presents salvation as a fire insurance policy where a person really does not come to Christ for life. Janice called for clarification on Hebrews 12:7-11, and particularly wanted to know what discipline means. Bob said that discipline is not punishment, but training and discipleship, where instruction in truth is received that sets you free.

John called to ask Bob about James 2:14, concerning what works is. He also called to get help clearing up doubts he has if he is saved. He essentially asked how we determine if we or someone else is a Christian based on works or lack of it.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Lord Save Me

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 27 (05-29-19)

Bob George shared from John 6 and Matthew 14 on the miracles of Jesus, the healing of the sick, the feeding of the five thousand with two small fish and five barley loaves, and calming a storm after walking on water, then continues teaching from Matthew 15. God is in the miracle working business but the greatest miracle is the transformed lives of men. Jesus did these miracles because the Father told him to (John 5:19, John 8:28), for God is full of compassion and tender mercy (James 5:11).

He was here on earth on a mission, a plan from before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:19-20), to go to the cross and rise again, a command he received from His Father (John 10:18). He came to do something for man that man could never do for himself (Matthew 19:26).

He first came to prepare the hearts of men so they may know who he is, that he is God (John 10:38, John 5:18, John 8:58), and see their need, their unrighteousness (Romans 3:10) and God’s righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). At times Jesus was not what we would call tactful and was quite firm in telling the truth about a person’s hypocrisy, to shine the light on their condition of spiritual death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
