Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P45 (02-19-20)
Although many people, among the Jews, rejected the message of the gospel, a remnant was saved. Many Jews did reject Christ Jesus as the Messiah. However, there is always a remnant that are willing to listen. The first people who came to Christ were Jewish people. Thousands heard the preaching of the apostle Peter, and the other apostles, and were saved. There are those who will have humble hearts, who will hear, believe and be saved.
Today, it seems, not many people want to listen to truth. Many people’s minds are made up, and do not realize the errors they have believed. They would rather hold on to their denominational belief system, but not test it out with the word of God to see if what is said is true. Few will even open a bible up to read it. I encourage you to read your bible, not to gather information, but to get to know the author, who is God. As you read, ask the Holy Spirit to explain to you the meaning of it. Learn to ask questions of God. If you seek Him with all your heart, He … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P495 (12-05-19)
As we live in our present bodies, in this sin-indwelling flesh, none of us are beyond falling into old sinful patterns. Yes, we, who are in Christ, live under the grace of God, but we never want to take advantage of God’s grace and live in sin for which Christ has set us free. So Paul addresses the church in Corinth, for the third time now, and is grieved and humbled to go over these same matters again. He provides firm correction, as we read in 1 Corinthians, about a man who has his father’s wife. The Corinthian church was boasting and should be grieved. The church listened to Paul’s instruction, and the man was put out of fellowship with the church, to be handed over to Satan so his flesh will be destroyed. We read in 2 Corinthians that the discipline of the many was sufficient, and the man went out of his way to clear himself of this matter, having true godly sorrow over sin. The church was then instructed to go out of their way to show their love to him so he is not overcome with … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 30 (06-05-19)
Bob George continues sharing truth from the book of John. He just shared about the reaction of the religious Jews about Jesus claims to be God. The proud of heart will not see God, but the humble will listen intently to his words unto eternal life. Jesus said, “You are looking at me and you are still not going to believe in me”. Your pride can be taken away by realizing that you cannot give yourself life and that you cannot take away your sins. You are ready for Jesus. If that is the case, then your coming to Christ is as close as a prayer. What happens in this day and age when we do not see him? We hear about Jesus today. Do all people respond? Who responds? The humble. The humble listen to his voice and call upon him for truth, as the Father draws him to all truth, the truth that brings salvation, eternal life, to the knowing of God intimately. Let the life of Christ live in and through you.
Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 28 (06-03-19)
Bob George continues teaching from the gospel of John. Currently, he is reading from John 6, picking up after where Jesus just fed five thousand men, not including women and children, on a few loaves of bread and two fish. This whole section here is the key to understanding who you are in Christ Jesus. As you read John 6, notice the response of the Jews. They did not seek to know God but only sought Jesus to have their bellies filled. Seek spiritual food that endures unto eternal life. Let us not seek the Holy Spirit, the Father or an experience but get to know Jesus, that He is God. Do not be proud of heart, but ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you. God look at the attitudes of your heart and not as man sees. He wants to give new life to you. Consider what Jesus is trying to reveal to man about himself, that he is dead and in need of life. That is why he came from heaven, for man to recognize his state of spiritual death and come to Christ for new spiritual food … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P420 (3-07-19)
Several callers called Bob George for insight into common questions many of us have asked before or thought about. What is humility? Can I make myself humble? What does it mean that Jesus intercedes for me when all my future sins are forgiven? Is the King James version the only reliable translation today? How did translations come about and how are they different? If Adam never ate of the knowledge of the tree of good and evil, what would have happened? What would you share with some one who says that we are still under law today? In John 15, what does it mean if we fail to remain on the vine? Is it really saying we will be thrown into hell?
Andy called to ask about humility. Humility is not something we strive to become or get. Life circumstances humbles us, as we are weak in our natural selves, and attitudes in our hearts sometimes are not in line with who we are spiritually. When we look down at someone in our heart, the Spirit prompts us about our attitude that needs correction. So we are always under the Lord’s … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
