So the question that needs to be answered is this. Who do you say that I am, the Jesus we have been studying about this past week? We have been reading from the scriptures the claims Jesus Christ has said concerning Himself. These things were written down so that you might believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. This statement is a record of what Jesus said, and is His bold explanation of the gospel, a message of good news of new life, that He came in order to offer us. The gospel, the message of salvation, is about life, new spiritual life, eternal life, God’s life, to be made available to all mankind.

Let us not stop at the cross, where he shed his blood and died, but let us move on to the resurrection. He came not only to take away our sins, when he shed his blood on a cross, without which there is no forgiveness of sins. Synopsis

God has made Himself known to all men through His Son, in how He lived and in what He has done. The Spirit has gone into all the world. There is nowhere His voice has not been heard. God the Father sent His only Son into this world and the Holy Spirit revealed the Son to men, as the one whom He claimed to be, God, and God is Spirit. Those who worship God must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

Jesus came to proclaim truth into the hearts of men, truth about themselves, their sinful condition, their condition of spiritual death, and about their need of life and that life is the life that is in Christ, who is eternal life. If you have the Son, you have that life. So He is not far from any one of you. His Spirit is drawing all men unto Himself. Will you believe the message and receive new life in Christ Jesus?

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Everyone starts out with basic questions: Why am I here? Why do I feel empty inside? Is there meaning and purpose to life? Did you know Jesus offers a practical solution to the most basic need of all people? Jesus came as a solution to the problem of mankind.

This course is about building a solid foundation in Jesus Christ. Who is Jesus? Who did he claim to be? What did he accomplish for you and me? What is your understanding of salvation? Synopsis

So let us explore the facts and thoroughly examine the claims of Jesus Christ. If you were to look at all the leaders of various religions that exist out there, whether Buddha or Mohammad, what they did in their lifetime is nothing in comparison, and quite contrary, to what Jesus did. The calendar used by the world has engraved in its meaning, Anno Domini (Latin : “In the year of (our) Lord”), shortened as AD or A.D., and is used to refer to the years after the birth of Jesus.

As we read the account of the life of Christ in the gospel of John, you will read that he fulfilled the words of the prophets, that he was born a virgin, to be named Jesus because he will save his people from their sins. You will read that he will be called Immanuel, which means “God with us”. Jesus literally is God come in the flesh! He is referred to as the Son of God.

Every now and then, you have a caller who asks, “What must I do to be saved?” or says “I am having doubts about my salvation.” Many people have doubts about their salvation for any number of reasons. And wherever you are right now, we all start out the same way, without the Spirit of God living in you. That is we are born dead spiritually and are in need of new life.

When you are reading the gospels, you are reading a record of the life of Christ while he was here on earth. What was his destiny? He came to die on the cross and give you and me eternal life in Himself. In order to do that, He had to prepare us and show us what our condition was. He had to show us we are sinners. If we do not see ourselves as sinners, what would the cross mean to me? He had to show us we are dead. If I did not know I was dead, why would I need life? Salvation is Life Through Jesus Life

Synopsis

A question commonly brought up by many, many people is about their fear of losing salvation. People who ask that question do not know what salvation is. If you were to ask people, “What is salvation? What does it mean to you?”, then nine times out of ten you will get the answer back, “Jesus died for my sins.” That is not what salvation is.

Salvation is receiving life. That is why the apostle Paul said that without the resurrection we are still dead in our sins. The issue is not about sin, but about death and your need for life. Sin caused your death and the wages of sin is death. So what a dead man needs is life, and the only life available to man is the resurrected life of Christ Jesus.

The cross is what Jesus had to do to take away the cause of our death, which is sin. That was what Jesus had to do to prepare us to receive life. For if sin was not taken away first, eternally, then the next time we should sin, we would die again.
