Salvation is Life Through Jesus Life

Synopsis

A question commonly brought up by many, many people is about their fear of losing salvation. People who ask that question do not know what salvation is. If you were to ask people, “What is salvation? What does it mean to you?”, then nine times out of ten you will get the answer back, “Jesus died for my sins.” That is not what salvation is.

Salvation is receiving life. That is why the apostle Paul said that without the resurrection we are still dead in our sins. The issue is not about sin, but about death and your need for life. Sin caused your death and the wages of sin is death. So what a dead man needs is life, and the only life available to man is the resurrected life of Christ Jesus.

The cross is what Jesus had to do to take away the cause of our death, which is sin. That was what Jesus had to do to prepare us to receive life. For if sin was not taken away first, eternally, then the next time we should sin, we would die again. You grow up hearing things all your life and you begin to hear different things from various people, denominations of churches or people, and something just does not seem right to you, but you are not sure where to look or find the answers to life you are looking for. Sometimes you hear a teacher explain things, and that can help, if he has grown in the Lord himself for some time and has learned from the Holy Spirit so he can pass onto you what can be of help to you. But ultimately, you have to get into the scriptures yourself for the Lord to teach you, so you can test and affirm what anyone says is true. The Holy Spirit will do so, if you are in Christ, because He has promised to guide you into all truth.

We are to walk by faith in truth. We are to walk by faith in Christ, who gave his life for you so he could give his life to you so he could live his life in you and through you. Indeed, it is by faith in what Christ alone has done, by his death, burial and resurrection that we have become a child of God. As a child of God you have been given the choice to walk in the newness of life, to choose to participate in the divine nature, who lives in you. As a child of God, Christ lives in you. Everything that is a characteristic of God; compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, is in you. You do not have to go get compassion or pray for patience. You already have all of that, who is Christ Jesus, living in you. You access Him. He is already there, in you. You clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. You put it on.

Synopsis

To the degree we grasp God’s love for us is the degree to which we can allow God’s love to be produced in us and through us into the lives of others. We are a conduit of God’s truth and grace, of His love in our hearts. As we receive from Him, that is what then spills over into the lives of others. We cannot produce this fruit of the Spirit. As we abide in Him, in the source of love, rely on Him, allow our minds to be renewed with truth, fruit of the Spirit is borne in our lives to the glory of God and the benefit of others.

Knowing this love of God is so vitally important. Until we know the love of God for us, we have nothing to pass on to others. For apart from Him we can do nothing. We were designed to be dependent on Him. God wants us to trust in Him, that He has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Synopsis

We will always be learning how to trust in the love of God. As we allow ourselves to get to know God better through His word, error in our heads will be replaced with truth. So as we rely on, abide in Christ, the life of the vine, who is Christ, will produce in us and through us the fruit of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Like a branch, we cannot produce such fruit, but we can bear fruit, as we remain connected to the head, who is Christ. You are the church, you who are in Christ Jesus.

The Spirit testifies with our human spirit that we are children of God, by which we cry “Abba, or Daddy, Father.” That is our true identity, a child of God, not Baptist, or Presbyterian, or whatever label you put on yourself. Those are not identities God gave. Those are identities men give. Denominations may be teaching truth or they may be teaching error. How do you know? Synopsis

In this subject of Agape love, that is love that can only come from God and what God produces in us and through us as we rely on HIm, as we rest in Him like a branch on a vine. Our natural self, that sin-indwelling flesh, that Agape does not come out of us unless we are depending on Him, walking in the Spirit and not in accordance with the flesh. Of course, we have been in the flesh, our mind being so long in this worldly thinking, that we had since we were born with this sin-indwelling flesh. So there is the renewal of the mind that has to occur, and will continue to occur until the day we die. So we learn how to have our minds renewed and we put no confidence in the flesh.

So what happens when we put confidence in the flesh? We live in bondage to sin and death, even if, or though, you are not under that any more, when we do not have to. If error is what binds you, truth is what sets you free.
