The Cross is the Dividing Line of Human History

Understanding Forgiveness in Light of the Full Gospel and the New Covenant

Without understanding the New Covenant we live under today, that can hinder us from properly interpreting scriptures. It is like you are trying to understand a doctrine, such as forgiveness, in isolation, and so you have tunnel vision, and come to incorrect conclusions. For example, how do you understand a passage such as this one?

Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

And then, how do you explain a passage in the New Covenant, such as this one?

Colossians 3:13
13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Are those passages contradicting each other? Are you forgiven of all your sins or not? If I fail to forgive my brother, then will God not forgive me today? Those are the kinds of questions commonly asked upon reading such passages in isolation.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is the Gospel Warning

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P669 (09-09-21)

Hold on to What is Unshakeable and True, Christ Alive Living in You

As you go through life experiences and reflect on life, there are more and more questions that you ask. You never stop growing. If you escaped the horrors of Vietnam or World War II, or had to start all over after the devastation of a tornado or a hurricane, even losing a loved one, you may have asked many questions while trying to hold onto whatever you can call life. Common questions asked are “Where is God?” or “Why is there such evil in this world?” or “Why did God allow this to happen?”

There are all kinds of people in this world who face all kinds of challenges in life. Maybe you have not experienced love or grace in a church environment, unlike others you hear about who seem to just express how much they just love their church family. Others have grown up without a father for their mother had to flee from an abusive husband as far away as she could to a place of safety. They had to leave a loving supporting church family to find a critical, judgmental attitude in a new environment, trying to find a new start in life without much support.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Forgave You on The Cross Forgiveness is Finished

Man Needed Reconciliation to God with Sins Forgiven but Also Restoration with God, with Eternal Life, Being Made Complete in Christ Jesus

There are many people who say they got saved when they were young, but later in life had doubts. A simple question to ask, “What was your understanding of the gospel?” When Bob George asked people that question, he says that nine times out of ten a person will respond that the gospel is getting your sins forgiven. That in itself is not the gospel. It is a necessary preparation for the gospel to be given. So what is the gospel, the message of good news in Christ Jesus?

Jesus came to take away the sins of the world, and that is how man’s sins have been forgiven. There was a means in the Old Testament to get your sins forgiven, and it involved the shedding of blood of an animal, but it had to be repeated year after year, and could never take away sins. It could make a person conscious of sin. Under such a system of law, there were these rules and regulations that man was to keep.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Your Identity in Christ Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P662 (08-19-21)

If God Made You Holy, Set Apart as a Child of God, Walk in that Unity in Spirit and Grow in Truth

In the world today, you may hear people say, “I am a Christian too” But the word Christian has a different connotation of meaning to different people. You used to hear people say that if you are born in America, you are a Christian because this is a Christian nation. Mormons, Protestants and Catholics all say they are Christian, yet they all have different doctrinal beliefs. Others will say that they are a Christian because they were born into a Christian home. Then you may hear or read about “COEXIST”, as if all religions of the world believe the same way, or if they do not, it is just minor doctrinal differences. A person will say that all we need to do is just love one another. That we just all need to get along. The emphasis in the world today is often on unity, to build bridges with other belief systems, with the assumption that we can achieve unity apart from truth, as if everybody can define whatever they want about what truth is, and coexist together in unity.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Taken Away Forever

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P4 (08-16-21)

What the Cross Made Possible for Mankind: An Indestructible Life

What did Jesus’ shed blood on a cross make possible for you and I? And, if Jesus was not raised from the dead, would all that was made possible by the cross be a reality in our life? Think about these questions as you ponder over the passages of scriptures in Hebrews, where the New Covenant God made, not just with the Israelites, but with all of mankind, is explained. Looking at specific passages in scriptures, such as Hebrews 9:22, 27-28, Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:1-18, what conclusions can you come to in regard to the totality of the cross? What can you say in regard to the forgiveness of sins, of being made holy, to be made complete, in Christ?

What God has done for us in this New Covenant is He tells us that He will remember our sins no more and where these have been forgiven there is no longer any sacrifice for sins. In order to usher in a New Covenant, what was done in order for God, through His resurrected life, to be able to give you a life that is indestructible and a life that is eternal?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity and Growing in Grace of Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P661 (08-13-21)

Addressing Music Style, Modesty and Behavior in the Church

Common questions asked in the church are about proper behavior, music styles and modesty in the church assembly (see 1 Corinthians 6 in regard to lawsuits among believers or sexual immorality and 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 in regard to the abuse of the Lord’s Supper). A youth pastor might wonder about how to address those under his care on matters of dress code. At times, this can be a legalistic problem, and best left to the mother of her daughter to address, as addressed in a previous call-in program, in regard to skirts below the knee. As another example, a camp director was overbearing on such a matter, and forbade different sexes to be swimming together. As Bob had remarked to the camp director, that it is okay for he and his wife to sleep together in the privacy of their home but not to be swimming together in decency and modesty in a public place. As another example of legalistic behavior, that could be insisting that your church only serves the Lord’s Supper with real wine. In such a case, a pastor would be wise to serve grape juice instead, because he is making his decision based on love, to not cause a stumbling block to a person who is addicted to wine, such as an alcoholic (refer to 1 Corinthians 8:1-13 in regards to Love being your guide).… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
