Look Toward the Future - Look at Jesus

Synopsis

There are people who have called into this program who came from unbelievable heart-breaking and tragic backgrounds, of a father or mother who left them, who abused them or beat them. I have also heard from other people who were the ones doing many of those things in their past and have since come to Christ later in life. But they struggle with their past and will not let it go. They will ponder over their past, either in sorrow or regret, and continue feeling the pain in the present that they cannot walk in the joy of the Lord. They are hindered in walking in the newness of life God has called them to. If that is you, there is hope in the Lord, a renewing of the mind with choices you need to make.

You have to renew your thinking, that just as Paul left his past behind and pressed on to the higher calling in Christ Jesus, you too have to make that choice. Jesus is Talking to You

Synopsis

So we allow Christ to live His life in us and through us by having our minds renewed with truth, of who God is, so that new attitudes of heart are formed in us, the attitudes of servitude, of humility and dependency that are in Christ Jesus, and modeled perfectly by Christ as He walked on this earth, in appearance as a man, being God, but functioning as a man for our sakes. We imitate His faith, not His actions. Actions are a result of attitudes, a result of dependency on Christ, being internally led by the Spirit of God who lives in us. When you have the Spirit of God living in you, then you can hear His voice like a sheep knows the voice of a shepherd. As a new creation in Christ, we have been given the privilege to participate in the divine nature.

Now, we were not born alive with the Spirit of God living in us. We were born spiritually dead. That is why man feels empty inside, because he is. Synopsis

When we come to understand the love of God for us, His mercy and grace to us, how do we respond to that? Should that not form in us new attitudes of heart? How should that result in love in action, in how we act toward our brothers and sisters in Christ? When you are born again, you have been made into a new creation, the body of Christ, the church of the born again, the Ekklesia, the called out ones, of whom you are brothers and sisters to one another, with Christ Jesus as your head, your Counselor, your common Father.

When you think of a physical body with many parts, controlled by the head, how does that help you to understand how we are to function towards one another in love. Each body part is unique in function and no one part is considered more important than another, and each responds to the instructions of the head to operate properly. So too with the body of Christ. Synopsis

As we think about the attitudes of love, we think about the attitude of Christ Jesus, who is God, and God is love. Again, Jesus did not come here so we can copy his actions. What He did is what God called Him to do. He did not call us to raise Lazarus from the dead, nor are we able to raise anyone from the dead. We are the ones who needed to be raised from the dead, and that is why Christ Jesus came to do what he did and that is how we know what love is.

What Jesus did was show us what it means to live as a man. We are meant to live by faith in the same way he did. We are to imitate his faith, the trust and total dependency on His Father. He emptied himself of his divine attributes, coming in appearance as a man, and although never ceasing to be God, as the second Adam, one with the Spirit of God in Him, did nothing of his own initiative but did exactly what he saw his Father doing and saying exactly what his Father told him to say and how to say it.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Be Born of The Spirit for Life

Synopsis

So many people call in with questions they want answers to. Some wonder how we are meant to live the Christian life. Others wonder about end time events, like what has happened to Damasus. And in our world today, the end of the age certainly seems to be speedily coming toward the end. Time seems so short, like the rapture could occur within ten years. There are so many signs we see today, like Damascus being a heap of ruins, as prophesied by Isaiah.

But as curious as many people are toward end time events, the nagging questions people have about the meaning and purpose of life are still the same. It seems error seems to spread like wildfire and can never be quenched from being spread to the naive and those lacking discernment. The same errors are being propagated from generation to generation, from denominational persuasions of men and from the world. You still keep hearing the same questions. Is tithing for today? Why do pastors teach tithing? What is this strange teaching I hear about healing in the atonement? How can anyone find out what is true?

In this world, we will face all kinds of temptations, and we may even give into temptation. Such is the frailty of all mankind. There is not a person who has not sinned except Jesus Christ. He is not tempted by sin but was subjected to all the temptations we faced. But he was without sin. That is why we have a great and merciful high priest, who can identify with what we go through. He took away all the sins of the entire so that we can freely come to Him to receive life and grace in our time of need. You who are a child of God, humble yourself, trust the Lord to cause all things to happen for your good. Continue to walk in faith in the promises of God for you. If you should stumble or fall, get right back up, forget what lies behind, and go boldly to the throne of grace for help in time of need. Yes, make restitution when that is what needs to be done in your situation, as God would have you do.
