God is Creator We are Responders

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P14 (03-09-21)

Synopsis

When we are talking about the validity of Old Testament events, which certainly adds to the validity of the Old Testament itself, it all gets back again to one simple question Jesus asked, “Who do you say that I am?” Because if Jesus is who He is, God, and He said there is a Sodom and a Gomorrah then there was a Sodom and a Gomorrah

As you read the account of Sodom and Gomorrah, something striking you will notice. Fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. That is why archaeologists have never found those two cities that were destroyed by God. That adds to the validity of the scriptures. Archaeologists have found almost everything else recorded in the scriptures but they never found Sodom and Gomorrah.

But as you read these different accounts, do not just simply believe that this event happened or not, for that has no relevance to how you live your life. But take note of the analogy Jesus used in referring to these events in regard to His judgment on mankind. Jesus is pointing to a future date, where just as it was in the days of Lot, who was rescued from God’s judgment, having been declared righteous by His faith, his heart being distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless, so too there is a longing in the heart of God that every man would escape this coming judgment Jesus spoke of, and do not have to be destroyed by fire as what happened to the people in Sodom and Gomorrah.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Forgave You - Thank You

Classic Christianity Radio (02-26-19) – The Mystery of God Part 2

Bob George continues teaching from the book of Ephesians concerning a mystery that the Gentile is saved the same way as the HEBREW, by faith in Jesus Christ. God planned before the creation of the world that in Him we were chosen to be made holy and blameless. Jesus Christ is the object of our faith. Sin entered the world through one man, Adam, and death through sin, so death came to all men because all sinned.

Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned

Sin, the cause of death, had to be solved for man to have new life, to be made holy and blameless. Only God is perfectly holy and blameless.

Psalm 99:5
Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.

So what man needs is the very life of God. The problem of sin was solved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Now, man is free to come to Jesus Christ for life. God was pleased to do this for man and lavished His grace on those who put their faith in Him.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Belief vs Faith in Jesus

Classic Christianity Radio (02-25-19) – The Mystery of God Part 1

Bob teaches from Ephesians about how the HEBREWS and Gentiles are to be united under one body through the mystery revealed to the apostles and prophets by revelation from Jesus Christ. That in Christ, you, even a Gentile, and the HEBREW too, can be made holy and blameless in His sight, a message of God’s redemption and grace through Jesus Christ!

Ephesians 1:1-3
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul was named an apostle by direct revelation from God, confirmed later by the rest of the apostles.

Ephesians 3:2-6
2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, 3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

God Has Forgiven You

Classic Christianity Radio – Heirs of the Promise Part 3 (2-20-19)

Bob shares that the New Covenant is for us today from Hebrews 10. Now that Jesus shed his blood on the cross, taking all the sins of the world away, the HEBREWs take off the old clothes of the Law and put on the new clothes of Christ’s righteousness. The Gentiles, who never had the Law, just put on the new clothes of Christ’s righteousness. For Christ has been raised to new life, and in Him is forgiveness, redemption, holiness, and righteousness. So those who put their trust in Christ’s finished work, they have been made complete in Christ, with His laws written in their hearts by the Holy Spirit. So under the New Covenant of God’s amazing grace, we live in the higher laws to love God and to love our neighbor by the power of the Holy Spirit within us.

In about 14 minutes into the audio, Bob asks some questions. “What is the Christian life? “Can we live the Christian life?” Not in the energy of the flesh! “What then is needed?” Bob shares from God’s word to answer these questions. The Christian life is Christ. Enjoying him, getting to know Him, about His love, provision, kindness, goodness, mercy.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation is Life Eternal

Classic Christianity Radio – Heirs of the Promise Part 2 (2-19-19)

Bob George first repeats a message from yesterday from the book of Ephesians that the believing HEBREWs and Gentiles, together are heirs of the promise of God in Christ Jesus. About 14 minutes into the audio, Bob explains this New Covenant He made with man, both HEBREW and Gentile, from Hebrews 10. Bob begins by asking the question, “This covenant we are under, is that for us?”

Hebrews 10:11-18 (KJV)
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Truth

Classic Christianity Radio – Heirs of the Promise Part 1 (2-18-19)

Bob shares a message from Ephesians that, as Gentiles, together with the HEBREWs we are heirs of the promise. In part 1 on this topic, Bob shares how to properly discern context from reading Ephesians. So often people read one passage and come to false conclusions about election and predestination. Looking closely at transition words like “Therefore” are clues to the theme or purpose of writing. However, punctuation and chapter divisions can be put in the wrong places. Oftentimes people form incorrect doctrines out of the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and the book of Acts, which are historical recording of events that happened but are not for forming doctrine. The epistles of Paul, like his letter to Ephesians, contain doctrine, yet even then wrong conclusions are drawn. Read the entire letter over and over again and look for the overall meaning and then let the Holy Spirit teach you. It is not the word that sets you free but the truth of the word, the meaning of the word of God, that sets you free. So Bob reads through the book of Ephesians, interjecting what the meaning of the passage is, who is being addressed, the HEBREW or the Gentile, as he is reading along, to clear up confusion.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
