Jesus is The Resurrection and The Life

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P36 (01-29-19)

Synopsis

Have you come to grasp the love of God that is in Christ Jesus? If you are in Christ Jesus, allowing Him to renew your mind with truth, the truth shall set you free. Sadly, so many believers have not studied the word of God for themselves, and have kept listening to error from the pulpit. If someone tells you that God will get you if you sin, is that true? No. God has taken away your sins, never to be seen again from the eyes of God. And that was done at the cross. There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. But do you see how a little error here and there, keeps you from walking in freedom. Who will boldly go to the throne of grace in your time of need, thinking God is mad at you or is punishing you?

Another serious error is thinking salvation is getting your sins forgiven. I do not think anybody wants to go to hell. So, sure, I will say thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins. But, someone thinking that, is he really saved? … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Forgiveness Does Not Produce Life

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P35 (01-28-19)

Synopsis

So often when people grow up in a church background, error is being taught. There are those teachings that keep us bound under law, by the mixing of law and grace, preventing people from walking freely in the new life God has given to those who have believed. Then there are those teachings that are serious doctrinal error. Many a person has walked down an aisle to receive forgiveness of sins, for that is what they have been taught. So the doctrine of salvation is taught in error.

Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven and that is it. Romans 5:10 and Ephesians 1:7 are key verses that, understood in context, explain this more clearly what Jesus accomplished for us, in what salvation is. When you were His enemies, lost, you were reconciled. How? By his death on a cross. How was what provided for then, at the cross, received? In Him. In Him, you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Salvation is the receiving the life of Christ Jesus. The cross without the resurrection is meaningless, for the apostle Paul spoke to the Corinthians, that without the resurrection you are … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P505 (01-23-20)

Synopsis

It is so heartbreaking to hear people being taught under law, or mixing law and grace, an impossibility. So many grow up in churches and are taught wrong, and are truly ignorant of the truth. When someone tells someone it is a sin to not go to church on Sunday, or that you must train your children only in this way, then you are teaching them about living under law. The letter of the law kills. It does not bring life. It brings suffering or hardship on people.

The spirit gives life. Scripture is very clear in Hebrews about the New Covenant of grace we are under, that we can rest from our works just as God did from His. Every day is a Sabbath rest for the people of God. You live by a trusting relationship with the living God. When you are born again, the Spirit is living in you, teaching you to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions, and He guides you into all truth. You no longer need to be tutored by the law, that was designed so you may recognize your sinful state and … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – New Years P3 (01-01-20)

Synopsis

As you read the familiar story of the account in Luke of the birth and early life of Christ, what grabs your attention? The Spirit continually teaches us through His word, even from passages so familiar to us, as we stop and ponder His word, and ask the Lord to reveal to us what He wants us to see today. When you think of how the Spirit is at work to reveal truth to men, do you see how He works throughout the ages to reveal Himself to men? How has He revealed Himself to you? Today, He has revealed Himself to us by the Son He has given.

What do you think of the shepherds in the fields, who had angels visit them, and then Mary, through whom the angel Gabriel told her of the Spirit to be placed in her, to be called Immanuel, God with us? Then you have the Spirit speak to Simeon about a prophecy from the prophet Micah, that both the Jew and the Gentile will be saved the same way, through this small child Jesus, who will be the light to the Gentiles. This is … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Know I Am God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P19 (12-09-19)

Synopsis

The first four books of Romans laid the foundation of the need of all mankind for salvation. Both Jew and Gentile were addressed as both spiritually dead, sinners by nature. Whether under the law or apart from the law, they are both spiritually dead since birth. Sin and death entered the world through one man’s sin, Adam, the first created being.

Now, in chapter 5, Paul is addressing the solution of man’s problem. Man’s problem is greater than sin. His greatest problem is he is spiritually dead. Sin caused his death. So until the problem of sin is taken away, salvation cannot be offered. Now, two fundamental questions need to be understood. What is death? What is salvation?

When Adam chose for himself to decide right from wrong, good and evil, he died. God had told him that the day you decide for yourself that you do not need Me, and choose for yourself right from wrong, good from evil, you shall die. Adam did that and he died. Death is the absence of life. Adam, when he was created, was created with the life of God in him. When Adam … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Holy Spirit

Classic Christianity – Thanksgiving Part 1 (11-25-19)

Synopsis

So often people trust the words of their pastor or some person. He could be Calvin or MacArthur or your baptist preacher or your Presbyterian preacher, or your Catholic priest, and you would just trust what they tell you as true. After all, he went to seminary, you think. Or he got trained under 2000 years of church history just like the Jews did, for they had Moses as their teacher. But have you ever stopped to think if what they are saying is true? If you are born again, who is living in you? What did he promised you? That he would guide you into all truth. How do you suppose he is going to do that? If you are born again, did you know that you have the mind of Christ, the ability to discern the things of God and make judgments about all things?

Now, we have the example in scripture where Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. Satan quoted scripture, but he did it to deceive. Jesus also responded with scripture. He would say, but scripture also says. Now, how important is the … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
