Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P580 (10-16-20)
Truth is so important to grab a hold of so you can walk in the way God intended. On today’s program, two callers called, that highlight how when truth is not understood or grasped, you are unable to walk in the new life God has given you. There are those people who will not think it worthwhile to hold onto truth, and have been deceived by the thinking of the world, and are lost. Sometimes people call in on behalf of a son or daughter or granddaughter who has been ensnared, and are asking for counsel in how to reach their loved ones with truth. Then there are those who have not quite grasped what salvation is, and because of their faulty thinking, such as the fear of losing salvation, they are unable to walk in true freedom.
Glenn asked a simple question but really opened up to expose a more serious problem in his belief system. For many years he was enslaved in fear and depression over guilt over a past sin of fornication. Bob graciously helped guide him to truth so he could walk in new freedom. Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P572 (09-18-20)
Jesus told us that the gospel will go out into all the world and then the end will come. So we are busy about doing what God has called us to do, to make God known. The reason we are here is to proclaim Him. Make the most of every opportunity, for the days are evil.
Jesus Christ is the solution to the world’s problems. It will not be solved by peace treaties and doing good to others. The problem goes deeper than that. It is a problem in the human heart, of mankind being born dead to God. We are born dead spiritually, that is, without the Spirit of God living in us. Unless a man is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. The only life available to mankind is the resurrected life of Christ Jesus.
Doing good to others is not going to give life to someone who is dead. Yes, it is helpful to lead someone to Christ, for it is God’s lovingkindness that led us to repentance. God is love so we love because He first loved us. We are to allow the … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P53 (08-18-20)
Let us focus on this aspect of faith, this access to this grace in which we, who are in Christ, now stand. We know that anything which is not of faith is sin. Sin is what caused our death, but through faith in Christ Jesus, we were born again. The message of the gospel is life in Christ Jesus. It encompasses the totality of what Christ Jesus accomplished for us through His death, burial and resurrection, ultimately leading us to place our faith in His provision and receive eternal life, the life of Christ living in you.
Many of you have heard justification expressed as meaning just as if you had never sinned. That is part of justification, but there is more to justification than dealing with sin. The removal of sin did not save us. That is what prepared us for life to be given and for life to be received.
Dealing with sin is really what reconciliation is, which is what God did for us by sending His Son to shed His blood on a cross to take away the sins of the world. … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P560 (08-07-20)
As we grow in Christ, we all have our struggles, our battles with temptations of the flesh. That can be unique to each individual, what seems to be more prone to you, your weakness. Sometimes we give into our flesh, but we must remind ourselves that we do not have to. We are instructed to rejoice in our weakness so that the power of Christ might rest on us. That is what walking by faith is, walking in what God says is true about you and His provision of life or you. If you are a child of God, then you are being internally led by the Spirit of God, who lives in you. As a child of God, He has given you everything you need for life and godliness through Him who lives in you.
If we do not properly understand the gospel, or have forgotten that our past sins have been forgiven, then we found ourselves putting ourselves under the law. The power of sin is the law. The law stirs up sin. So, when we renew our mind in what truth is, and that truth sets us … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P547 (06-25-20)
If you are a parent, and you are a believer, how would you relate to your adult son who comes home to visit, says he is a homosexual, that he is born that way and he wants you to accept him? These are the kinds of questions that we hear today. First, of all you do love him dearly, not for what he does, but because he is your son. You know such behavior is perversion, and you do not have to be a believer to know that. And you know that in order for your son to come alive in Christ, to walk free from that, he needs to be told the truth.
You never want to get to the point of calling something other than what God calls it. If God calls it sin, it is sin. How can someone repent of being a sinner and know to come to Christ for life, if he first does not even acknowledge what sin is? He is believing a lie. Anyone who is in that lifestyle is not happy no matter what he looks like on the outside. He has … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
