Jesus Died and Resurrected For Me

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P428 (4-04-19)

Bob George, on the air with the original People to People ministries, answers questions by callers from across the country on real life issues as well as the common questions. Andrew from Lubbock, Texas asked about the meaning of the head covering for a woman in the passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 11. Bob answered what he knew from a translation or footnote in a translation that provided information that makes some of that passage more easily understood in its context of the day the letter was written. In that culture, the Gentile were very heathen, and had idols made of stone and sexual goddesses with temple prostitutes. The prostitutes in those days wore short hair or had their heads shaved. From bob’s understanding, a woman who came out of that sinful lifestyle and is now a believer may still have her head shaved and if she does not want to be identified with the “shorn” woman, that is, the prostitutes, she should have a head covering until the time her grows out. As far as other things in that passage, such as “because of the angels”, he did not have an answer.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is God

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 3 (04-03-19)

Bob George continues teaching from the book of John. He encourages all believers to pick up the gospel of John over and over again so you may know the love of God. What counts is lives changed by the Holy Spirit living in men, where faith expresses itself through love. The love that is produced in you is the love of God so that love can be expressed through you.

Galatians 5:6
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

John 1:1-3
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

There was a beginning for you and the beginning was the word of God. When God created this world, how did he create it? God created everything there is by his word. This world came into existence by the spoken word of God. So we know that the word was with God and the word was God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Took Your Sins Away

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 2 (04-02-19)

Bob George teaches from the book of John, with particular focus on the doctrine of the Trinity. He encourages the listener to let the Spirit of God teach you doctrine through the word of God. Bob addresses such topics as knowing what the word of God means (doctrine), what is the doctrine of the Trinity and where the doctrine of the Trinity comes from, what does the Spirit look like, what do you believe and why do you believe it, the role of the Holy Spirit in teaching you the meaning of His word, the application of doctrine to your life, the conflict of the flesh and the Spirit, choices as a child of God, who can become a child of God, law and grace before Moses, and law and punishment. He shares from supporting scriptures to encourage the listener to internalize truths concerning Christ and yourself. His hope, and the hope of those in Christ, is for the listener to understand personally the forgiveness of sin and the receiving of new life in Christ. You can walk in that new life today. Bob emphasized again that truth is revealed to men through His word.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Our Righteousness

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 1 (04-01-19)

Before getting into the teaching in the book of John, Bob George first starts a review on biblical interpretation. From 2 Timothy 3:16, he provides a framework of understanding what is meant by scriptures as being inspired by God. He explains that the original manuscripts are inspired and scriptures we have today are translations. Although translations are not inspired, they are translated from God’s inspired word of God into languages known by the reader. In particular, the Septuagint, a translation of the Old Testament Hebrew into Greek, often quoted by Jesus, is a trustworthy translation. Other translations exist today, and we have many in English so we can read in our own language.

2 Timothy 3:16
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

Bob opens by reading 2 Timothy 3:16 from the King James Version translation. Bob made a specific point to quote from the King James Version to explain how one needs to show proper discernment when reading from a translation since only the original manuscripts are inspired. This is the only translation that correctly uses doctrine instead of teaching.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Your Sins Have Been Forgiven by God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P427 (3-29-19)

Bob received a from Mark from Ketchner, Ontario asking about the meaning of the priesthood of believers. He also wanted to know if there is any association of the Catholic priesthood to the scriptures. Prior to the cross and throughout the Old Covenant, the Levites were the only priests in existence. The Roman Catholic priesthood came much later and is a man-made tradition. When Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross, he initiated a New Covenant with men, abolishing the Old Covenant with all its animal sacrifices and need for priests to carry out those duties for a temporary covering for sin. For a Catholic priest to say that he can absolve sins of man is heretical teaching. For such a Catholic system of sacrifice to exist today is in total contrast to God’s word. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. What basis is there for a continual, unbloody sacrifice of the mass? None! Jesus Christ sacrifice, his blood shed on the cross, was once and for all, and all sufficient to take away the sins of the world. No other sacrifice is needed nor is there any sacrifice besides the death of Jesus on the cross that can take away sin.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

It is Finished

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P426 (3-28-19)

Bob George received calls from people across the country. Many thank him for sharing the truth that he shared so clearly from God’s word. Cecilia called and was very appreciative of Bob’s clear teaching. She was very enthusiastic of sharing all that the Lord taught her. She had been sharing with her friends about the finality of the cross and God’s unconditional love and forgiveness. Bob and Cecilia encouraged each other in the Lord. For the sake of the listeners on the air, Bob shared again what Cecilia already knew from the Spirit, that we are responders to God’s love through his finished work of the cross. We do not go to God asking for forgiveness every time we sin. We simply say “thank you” for His eternal sacrifice for sin that He performed once and for all. When Jesus shed His blood on the cross, he took away all the sins of the world; past, present and future sins. Indeed, all our sins were future when he died. Since his death, Jesus will never again shed his blood for his sacrifice was eternally sufficient to pay for the just requirement of death for all the sins of mankind.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
