Your Sins Were Forgiven

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P41 (02-11-20)

Synopsis

Do you really grasp the unconditional love and acceptance of God? Are you complete in Christ? If you are single, do you think, if only I get married, then I will find true happiness, that she will love me unconditionally? If you are married, have you realized that your spouse cannot meet that need? Are you sucking the energy out of each other, placing unrealistic expectations on each other? You see, your real need is a spiritual need that cannot be filled by people. Unconditional love and acceptance can only be met by God.

Now, do you have Christ in you? If not, then you are incomplete, unable to function as God intended. You have a longing in your heart to have meaning and purpose in life. You spent all kinds of time at work to get accolades or recognition of others. But, after trying to find fulfillment in what you do, you still have an emptiness in your heart. You have an insatiable desire for love and acceptance, for meaning and purpose in life. But those needs are spiritual needs, and nothing on this earth, whatever club, activity or work you do, cannot meet that void.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Stand in the Righteousness of Jesus

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P40 (02-10-20)

Synopsis

Listen as Bob summarizes what the apostle Paul proclaimed to both Jew and Gentile alike, the righteousness that is received by faith and faith alone in what Christ accomplished for you, by his death, burial and resurrection. It has never been by works of the law, of how well you kept the ten commandments. It is an impossibility for the Jew, who were given the law, and all the prophets, and for us, the Gentiles, who never had the law, but stole the law from the Jews, and tried to do what the Jews did, and failed miserably. The real issue is that we were all born dead, whether Jew or Gentile, without the Spirit of God, and we are in need of life.

Trying to work to gain acceptance with God is like trying to jump across the Grand Canyon to get to the other side. It cannot be done. Or, it is like trying your hardest in getting the acceptance from your father by what you do. It seems the harder you work, the more you get rejected. The fact is, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Not By Works of The Law

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P39 (02-05-20)

Synopsis

What is the conclusion drawn in Romans 9, as Paul addresses both the Jew and the Gentile? It is about appealing to men to come to Christ by faith and faith alone. Do you want to be proud of heart, like the Jew, or do you want to be humble, like the Gentile, who believed the message Paul preached? Do you want God’s mercy? Do you want to receive God’s grace? If you are in Christ, you already have His grace. If you are still alive, it is His mercy that He already took your sins away, and He is long-suffering and patient with you, waiting for you to come to Him to receive new life.

The proud of heart will not come to Christ to receive life? Why not? They would rather trust their religion, how good they are, or rather they think they are, in observing the law. They would rather be a Jew than a Christian, to be more proud of their heritage than becoming a child of God. Others will not come to Christ for fear their deeds will be exposed. The problem is you are dead, and you will remain dead unless you come to Christ to have life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P505 (01-23-20)

Synopsis

It is so heartbreaking to hear people being taught under law, or mixing law and grace, an impossibility. So many grow up in churches and are taught wrong, and are truly ignorant of the truth. When someone tells someone it is a sin to not go to church on Sunday, or that you must train your children only in this way, then you are teaching them about living under law. The letter of the law kills. It does not bring life. It brings suffering or hardship on people. The spirit gives life. Scripture is very clear in Hebrews about the New Covenant of grace we are under, that we can rest from our works just as God did from His. Every day is a Sabbath rest for the people of God. You live by a trusting relationship with the living God. When you are born again, the Spirit is living in you, teaching you to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions, and He guides you into all truth. You no longer need to be tutored by the law, that was designed so you may recognize your sinful state and condition of spiritual death and come to Christ for life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Do Not Lean on Your Own Understanding
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P503 (01-16-20)

Synopsis

How important it is to study God’s word to know the author of the book, who is God. But who can understand God without the spirit of God living in Him? Nobody. But if you are not born again, having the Spirit of God placed in you, you need to hear His word because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. And how blessed you will be when you hear someone preach the meaning of it to you, who rightly explains the meaning, as revealed by the Spirit of God, and you believe the message and are born again. But if you are born again, then in order to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, you need to study God’s word, in its whole context, while asking the Spirit to reveal the meaning of the word to you. The Spirit is the one who has to reveal the meaning of it to you. Unfortunately, there are so many who preach or teach, not God’s meaning by relying on the spirit, but relying on their own understanding or repeating what others have said through tradition and culture.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Come to Jesus for Life

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P29 (01-14-19)

Synopsis

Recall that in Romans, Paul explains the purpose of the law and explains what God did to bring salvation to fallen mankind. He goes on to explain law and grace. In doing so, he anticipates the common questions that man would ask.

Romans 6:1
1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

Romans 6:15 (NASB)
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!

Romans 7:7
7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful?

Paul answers these questions, explaining the grace of God, the totality of the cross, the resurrection, and how man is made complete in Christ. Still today, there is much confusion on what salvation is. You have numerous denominations out there, and what they could be telling you is true or not true. How would you know?

The Holy Spirit reveals truth to men, and truth is revealed to you through his word. So a lost person cannot discern the things of God because they are spiritually discerned. But the saved person, a person with the Spirit of God living in him, can.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
