Jesus Took Away All Your Sins at The Cross

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P570 (09-11-20)

Synopsis

You cannot escape troubles in this fallen world, and many people have gone through horrendous things in this life, abuse of all kinds, beaten and rejected by a spouse, or molested by a close relative, and they carry hurtful and very painful memories and scars. But God wants us to be set free with truth, to turn our eyes to Him and live in His wonderful grace. We choose not to recall those painful memories, except to the degree that we can comfort others, who are going through the same things we did, with the same comfort we received from God.

So let go of the past so you can live in the present. And at times, even the present circumstances you are in, you are an overcomer in Christ, who promised to cause all things to happen for the good to those who love Him and are called according to His good purpose. It is not that he will make bad good, but He will cause all things to turn out for your good. For example, if someone is so hard of heart, such as an unbelieving spouse, and … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

The Church is the People of Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P558 (07-31-20)

Synopsis

As believers, we struggle at times with all kinds of life issues. A common issue is marriage, and especially so when one or the other spouse is not a believer. AS a born again believer, we have the Spirit of God living in us, and so we have access to God’s wisdom through his word, to renew our mind so our behavior is in accordance with who we are. But a non-believer does not have that resource, and therein lies the conflict. That is why the word of God instructs believers not to be unequally yoked, for what does light have to do with darkness.

Many times people call in to ask questions about sin and forgiveness. What do you do when you sin as a believer? Why do I still sin if I am saved? Those are some of the common questions people ask. These are symptoms of not fully understanding what Jesus provided for you at the cross. When Jesus died, he took away the cause of our death, which is sin, in order that life might be given. The wages, what we deserve and earn from sin, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Understanding the NEW

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P556 (07-24-20)

Synopsis

Listen as people call in for answers to the practical issues in life, a struggling marriage, a divorce, how to get close to God, or tough decisions when you know you are dying of cancer. It is so wise to listen. Everyone should be slow to speak and quick to listen. As you do, you gain insight into what a person is really struggling with and get a sense of the attitudes of their heart. At times, you do not know how to answer, and so biblical counseling is the best advice you can offer. But the one person who knows you better than anyone else is the Lord Jesus Christ. Many times, we contribute to our own problems. We do not inquire of the Lord. We are vulnerable to making mistakes because we have been through a previous bad marriage, and are lonely. So, at times we make dumb choices, and enter another difficult marriage. But in all these things, we do not live under the law but under grace. In Christ, there is always hope. That does not mean that a marriage will always be restored or that … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P548 (06-26-20)

Synopsis

Today’s callers asked for help in regard to marriage issues and even about how to quit smoking. A lady called on behalf of her older sister who is seeing another man. Another person asked for clarification on a passage of scripture in regards to a passage in regard to adultery and marriage in Matthew 18:8-10. A person called about clarification on a passage of scripture, in Colossians 1:21-23, that seemed to indicate you could lose your salvation, even though he knows you cannot. Then there was this question that you still her quite often today, “Is a Catholic a Christian?”

Many of the questions these callers asked can easily be answered when, first of all you have the Spirit of God living in you, and you know the difference between the old covenant of sin and death, before the cross, and the new covenant of grace, after the cross, that we are under today. So when Jesus is saying things in the gospel of Mathew, Mark, Luke or John, he is saying things to people living under an old covenant, and the new has not yet come.

Another common way … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Lives Eternally

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P528 (04-10-20)

Synopsis

Have you ever wondered why someone you love is not acting like he is a Christian? He is born again, or so you thought, but his actions testify against him. Why is he going back to perverse behavior, behavior that only occurs among the heathen? There are two possible explanations. One he is not born again as you think he is, or he is born again, but is not paying any attention to God, and is acting in rebellion against truth. We cannot judge motives, but we can judge actions. So, if not certain of the evidence, then approach him in love, ask the questions that will draw him out, is your best option. You love him enough to tell him the truth. As a believer, we have the privilege to participate in the divine nature. That also means, we can choose to participate in the flesh. The flesh is contrary to the Spirit. We overcome the flesh by walking in the Spirit, putting to death the misdeeds of the body.

It is also quite possible that someone might have walked an aisle, thinking they are born again, but they … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

The Holy Spirit is Telling You Jesus is God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P527 (04-09-20)

Synopsis

I have heard believers, when reading the scriptures, Christians come across the passage in Matthew 12 where Jesus says that every kind of sin can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. With such a strong statement, people have wondered if they have committed such a sin. What is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? First, Jesus spoke while living during the time of the Old Covenant, while proclaiming the New Covenant to come. He spoke that he would prove the world wrong about righteousness, judgment and sin, and about sin, because of unbelief in Him (John 16:7-11). So, the world’s sin is unbelief in Jesus. Blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is refusing to believe in the totality of the godhead; that God the Father sent the Son into this world to take away the sins of the world. The Holy Spirit reveals the truth about God to men, testifying that Jesus is the promised Messiah, God in the flesh. So the only sin attributable to man is the sin of unbelief in Jesus, that after having taken away the sins of the entire world, he … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
