Jesus Came to Take Away Sin Not Cover it

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P30 (12-16-20)

Synopsis

We continue in our study of Daniel’s prophecy of the coming Messiah, where the exact time in history, April 6, 32 A.D., where Christ Jesus would ride in Jerusalem on a donkey, often known as Palm Sunday today, was predicted. As we know that event did happen, exactly as recorded in Daniel, and described by the disciples of Jesus.

Daniel also predicted a final week of time, or last seven years of time in history as we know it today, that is a period of tribulation the world has never known. If anyone lived during the tiem of Nazi Germany, and know how horrific that was, just multiply that by a hundred times over.

We read in scripture about a time in history prior to that last seven year period of tribulation. The dead in Christ and those still living on earth will meet the Lord in the air, to escape this time of trial. This is often known as the rapture. As we see events unfold before our eyes, and as Jesus said, when we see the events Jesus described as the beginning of birth pains, He tells us to look up, for your redemption draws near.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Is Prophecy Fulfilled in History

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P29 (12-15-20)

Synopsis

We will read about a prophecy from Daniel, an absolutely exciting prophecy of the exact time Jesus made His triumphal entry in Jerusalem riding on a donkey. Daniel prophesied the exact date in history when that event occurred! Daniel’s prophecy was written around 535 B.C and Jesus came riding on a donkey on April 6, 32 A.D., the exact time determined from Daniel’s prophecy! God must really want us to know something!

God wants us to know Him, that He is God, and by knowing God that we might have life in His name, to live as God intended for us to live. Daniel prophesied that when the Messiah comes that He will put an end to sin, to take away the sins of mankind from the eyes of God, bring in everlasting righteousness, seal up vision and prophecy, and anoint the Most Holy One. Jesus Christ fulfilled all that was recorded by the Old Testament prophets concerning Himself. No more prophecies today as that ended with Christ.

When events like this happen to the precise time in history, and was written down beforehand, from a prophet of God, who lived over a 1000 years before the actual event occurred, then we must have confidence that these original Hebrew scriptures are not only inerrant, but that God Himself spoke through the prophets.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

As we ponder over the prophecies from Isaiah concerning the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, we are amazed at the precise details and how they were all fulfilled in the person of Christ Jesus. We know about this because there were eyewitnesses of these things, who wrote down all they saw and heard. These were the disciples of Jesus, primarily Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And the apostles proclaim the truth of what his death, burial and resurrection accomplished for you and me, even as the prophets foretold He would come to do. Surely He is Immanuel, God with us!

Jesus is Prophecy Fulfilled Yesterday Today and Tomorrow

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P23 (12-01-20)

Synopsis

Have you ever loved to read history books? Were you there when president John F. Kennedy was assassinated? Did you see what happened on live television? What if you were one of the disciples who saw what happened to Jesus? How would that impact your life? Would it be just an event in history to say that you know that horrible event happened to him? By knowing that president Kennedy died, did that make a difference in your life today? Maybe it did in some way, if you realized what could have happened if he never died? In the case of Jesus of Nazareth, do you see a deeper meaning, a greater purpose for what He came to do, when he died only to be raised to new life again on the third day?

Jesus fulfilled a plan that was recorded even in Genesis 1:1, if you look carefully at every Hebrew symbol and know the numerical meaning of that symbol, and how those combinations of symbols map out a future unfolding of events. Think about what the prophet Isaiah said.

Isaiah 46:10
10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.

Jesus is Fulfillment of Prophecy

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P22 (11-30-20)

Synopsis

When we look at scriptures concerning the last days of Jesus on earth, those things we have read about through the prophets, such as Isaiah and Micah, and then the eyewitnesses, like John and Matthew, who ate and drank with Jesus, do you not marvel? The disciples of Jesus recorded down the fulfillment of prophecy, of the things they saw and heard, what was fulfilled, as written down through the prophets. How can you not say, “This man must have been the Messiah!”? But as you look deeper into the scriptures, you realize the attitudes of the heart of all mankind is made known.

We look at the attitude of Judas, who obviously betrayed Jesus, but later recognized his wrong and tried to make it right. He was filled with remorse. Yes, he betrayed Jesus, and so did all the disciples, including Peter. What was Judas main problem? He thought he could manipulate God into doing what he wanted Him to do, which would cause deliverance of the Jews out of Roman rule. He had the mind of natural man but was blind to the things of God. The plan of God was hidden from him.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus God From The Beginning Became Man

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P21 (11-18-20)

Synopsis

As we ponder over the biblical prophecies in Christ Jesus, let us keep in mind that this was in the heart of God before the creation of the world and mankind. Knowing that when creating man in His own image, there is a risk to that, that mankind might just choose his own way. God in His foreknowledge made provision for that, that if mankind should decide for himself what is right and wrong, to decide that he does not need or want God and wants to live independently of God, then there is a consequence to that choice. That consequence is that man will be separated from God, and be in a state of spiritual death. That is, Adam, when he sinned in the garden of Eden, died to the one who vacated Him, who was the Spirit of God living in him.

As a consequence of that choice, the entire human race was lost, being born in the nature of Adam, dead to God. God made provision to restore mankind back to himself. Through the prophetic words of the prophets, He predicted His entry into this world, how He would be born, born of a virgin, in a stable, in Bethlehem, and where He would start His ministry, in Galilee of the Gentiles, and how he would be betrayed by His own creation, and all in such precise detail, that only God in His foreknowledge could pull this off.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
