Believe God is Not Counting Your Sins Against You

Synopsis

We struggle with grasping the depth of God’s unconditional love and acceptance. When we make bad choices, that is, we sin against God and one another, what is our response to that? Do we hide in fear? For those in Christ Jesus, God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. He who fears is not made perfect in love. Do we think God is angry at us? Do we have this expectation of raging fire, being turned aside by God, that we have fallen away and cast aside by God? No, God has promised to never leave us or forsake us. He sealed His Holy Spirit in us. No one can snatch you out of My Father’s hands.

It seems our natural inclination is to withdraw in isolation or even make the problem worse, adding sin upon sin. Yet God says, come boldly to the throne of grace for help in time of need. We forget the wisdom of Proverbs that says that he who confesses and forsakes his sin will find compassion and mercy. Jesus Took Away All Your Sins Once For All

Synopsis

Bob George was asked questions on forgiveness and salvation. Do you need to ask God for forgiveness when you sin? Do you need to confess your sins to God to get forgiveness? If you sin as a child of God, how do you confess your sin? What are you doing as a child of God when you confess your sin? If you do so many stupid things, should you feel guilty? Are people forgiven only when they accept Christ?

Bob was also asked what spiritual warfare means. Is it spiritual warfare when you are fighting kidney stones or some physical ailment?

Other questions asked were related to the end times. When will the last Gentile come in? What does it mean that the government will be on Jesus’ shoulders? When will that happen?

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 56 (08-07-19)

Synopsis

The disciples are with Jesus for three years but not understanding these things that Jesus had come to do. How could they? They did not have the Holy Spirit living in them. We do not naturally understand these things. We can be in church all our lives. We can hear about Jesus birth, his death, and that he died and was raised from the dead yet we ourselves can still be dead to the things of God. We could still be spiritually dead. Do you know your condition of spiritual death? Do you know that Jesus is God? Do you know He wants to live inside you by His spirit? Do you now what his death did for you personally? Do yo know why he rose from the dead for you? Do you know why he went back to His Father in heaven? Do you know he did these things in order to give life to you so you can live a new way?

Tony asked a question about false prophets, those men who say they heard from God. Nobody today is getting direct words from God. Those who prophecy today are proclaiming truth from the scriptures that have now been closed. The canon has been closed. Anyone proclaiming words of the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses or the other cults is not a prophet.

Stacey asked about why Jesus was tempted when he is God and He is never tempted. Bob cleared up her misunderstanding. Someone can be presented the temptation to sin, but if you are perfect like God then that really is not a temptation to you. Sin was offered to Jesus by Satan is what is being said here but Jesus is not ever tempted by sin that he should sin. If I were offered a cigarette or drugs, I would walk away or turn it down because I never desired or was given to that kind of temptation.

Jesus Asks of Us Lean Not on Your Own Understanding

Tony asked for understanding of a conversation he had with people who believed that the apostle Paul was the only person with the mystery of the gospel. Bob instructed him to stay away from such erroneous teaching and rely on the Spirit to teach you and trust Him to complete the work he started in you. Think about Ephesians 3:5 and 2 Timothy 3:16 for example. Bob then answered his question about priesthood and ambassadors. Those in Christ Jesus are ambassadors for Christ, since our citizenship is in heaven, representatives of God on earth and our priestly function, with the Spirit living in us, is to represent Christ to the lost and the lost to Christ. Aaron got into a conversation with Bob, agreeing that scare tactics is not an effective way of evangelizing. Bob addressed that the heart of the gospel is the resurrection. Bob personally addresses the person’s need of new life first, and if the person then does not accept or agree, then it would be fine to address the matter of their being on their way to hell in unbelief, but he would not start there. Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 18 (05-08-19)

Bob George shares again the good news of the gospel, sharing truth from scriptures that he has compiled into a little booklet titled, “Born Free”. What is our part, as believers in Christ?

2 Corinthians 5:20
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Recall that which Christ has done for us, the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:21

We are saved by His life, the cross was not an end in itself, but a means of accomplishing the end – that of restoring life that had been lost through sin.
