Synopsis

Sometimes we can get all bogged down worrying about whether someone is going to be saved. We shared the truth with him and we want him to be saved. But we have to learn what God’s role is and what our role is. One man waters, another plants, but God causes the growth. Ultimately, man has a free will. There are people who have heard the message of the gospel, but they do not want it. They are stubborn. We cannot make anyone want to listen. It is their free choice. It does no good to get all worried about that. Indeed, worry is sin. So let it go. Shake the dust off your feet and move on. Acknowledge that that worry is sin, praise God for His forgiveness of sin already, and thank Him for His great mercy and kindness to you.

Many times people do not understand what salvation is. Salvation is being saved from the consequence of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life, eternal life. This gospel of God’s grace, of Christ in you and you in Christ, your only hope, is nothing new. It has been preached by the apostles, and by men from generations past. Bob happened to find a book written by a missionary to India around 1929, that his wife Amy found, where the same truth he has been preaching has been preached. It is so encouraging to hear. God raises up men to proclaim truth, teachers na evangelists and missionaries, so that people may know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, to know eternal life.

When the apostle Paul says that Christ is your only hope of glory, what does he mean? When he is saying Christ is our only hope of glory, he is saying there is no hope for you. Synopsis

People have often called into the radio program to ask for more clarity on scripture passages they find difficult to understand. One common one question asked is what about “falling away” and “not being brought back to repentance“ and this “expectation of raging fire” in Hebrews 6:6? The common mistake people do is not read the book of Hebrews all the way through several times over, and then asking the Spirit of God to reveal the meaning of it to you. They tend to focus on one verse out of its entire context, and think of all kinda of fearful thoughts. What is that sin? Did I commit it? So Bob highlights some other passages that gives greater to clarity the scripture in question.

In addition to Hebrews 6:6, look also at Hebrews 9:22, Hebrews 10:11-12, Hebrews 10:17-18 and Hebrews 10:26-29. Synopsis

It is so common to be in a bible study and hear erroneous teaching. Yes, even preachers teach things that are false. Often times people are raised under denominational teaching since their youth, and repeat what they here as if it that is the truth. Why? I heard it in Sunday school. Sadly, many people would rather hold onto tradition, thinking it is of equal par with the scriptures. Others simply do not know the scriptures to discern truth from error. So how then can you discern what is true and what is error? Do you have to go to seminary and study Greek and Hebrew? No. If anyone lacks wisdom ask of God and He will give you wisdom without partiality.

First of all, to discern truth from error, you must be born again so that you can have the mind of Christ, so you can have the Spirit of God guide you into all truth. We will never be in a state where we do not need a continual renewing of the mind. As you read about the conversion of Paul in Damascus, of his former way of life, and how he met the risen Lord, and how devoted he was to get the message of the good news out, what does that compel us to do? As you read along in Romans 15 and Acts 20-21, you realize that Paul, in so doing, met all kinds of trials and tribulations, and many times just one blow away from death, yet he was not dissuaded to proclaim this gospel. How devoted are we to share this message of good news, of life in Christ Jesus? We Were Reconciled to God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P21 (12-11-19)

Synopsis

This passage of scripture, in this 5th chapter of Romans, is one of the most important chapters in the entire bible. It takes the whole deal and encapsulates the entire gospel in Christ. Looking at just Romans 5:10, we have an explanation of how God reconciled the world unto himself. Sadly, many people have not understood the latter part of this verse, that we are saved by his life.

You are not saved by the death of Christ. You are saved by the life of Christ. His death is what was necessary to prepare us for salvation, and is necessary for salvation. For if Jesus did not die to take away the sins of the entire world, the next time man sinned he would die again. But death does not give life. Life gives life.

Forgiveness also does not give life. This also is the most understood doctrine, what salvation is. Untold thousands of people understand salvation as getting your sins forgiven. But that is not salvation. Yet, there are people, such as Calvinists, who think that salvation is getting your sins forgiven.
