What is the True Gospel?

Many topics of conversation came up in today’s program. These topics of conversation are extremely relevant for today. There are so many pastors that have huge church followings for prosperity gospel teachings. This is not the gospel! And that is where we begin today.

The first caller, Ken called from Frisco Texas. He had a question about searching for a church in their area. Also, he noticed that a lot of the pastors taught the prosperity gospel. In addition to that he wanted to know Bob’s opinion on the husband and wife team being lead pastors at a church.

Bob explains out of the Book of 1 Timothy chapter 6 in regards to these false teachers that preach a prosperity gospel is of a corrupt mind.

 

1 Timothy 6:3-5
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

God’s Plan For Mankind Put Into Effect

What will it take to get your attention as to what is really important in life? Is it the death of a loved one, mother or father, sister or brother or your spouse or child, dashed hopes and dreams? You reach the point where nothing in life is important any more. What you thought was so important is really not that important. Your heart is crying out, “God save me. I am so empty inside. Lord, will you heal my mother or my father?”

There is good news for you? All those things you heard, but you did not hear and you did not understand, that every time a Christmas carol was sung, that song “Immanuel, God is with us”. You either heard or sang such songs every year, but had no clue as to what those words really meant. Then, in the depth of your brokenness, the message of good news is explained to you, and you are ready now to receive the good news.

Jesus Came Into The World to Give His Life For You and Me

Are you exhausted because you are trying to get something you either do not have, spiritual life, by means of the flesh, or thinking you do not have what God says you already have? Are you not resting in what Christ did? What did he do? Have you not heard? Or, have you heard, but have you rejected the knowledge of truth?

So if you have not heard, this is the truth. Man was born dead spiritually, without the life of God in him. But, you say, that is no fault of mine. That is what Adam did. Are you so exhausted in trying to perform to be accepted and loved? Do you have an emptiness in your heart? Even with your success in this world, you are now asking what the purpose of life is? Why am I here? Why do I feel so empty inside? Those are indicators you do not have the Spirit of God living in you. Have you sinned? Jesus is The First Born of God

Classic Christianity – Christmas P2 (12-21-21)

Without The Shedding of Blood There is No Forgiveness – It is Finished!

Is Jesus going to shed His blood again? No! So if Jesus shed His blood one time for the sins of the whole world, and “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” [Hebrews 9:22], then what are we going to have to conclude from that one verse of scripture? It is finished! Jesus cried out from the cross, “It is finished!” There is no more sacrifice for sins. His work was complete.

Shout it from the rooftops! Jesus was born a man and lived a perfect life and took away all our sins on the cross from the sight of God so that in Him we may become the righteousness of God ourselves and receive His eternal Life in us.

Hebrews 9:22
22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Jesus became sin for us!

2 Corinthians 5:21
21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

We Have The Mind of Christ Jesus

Understanding the Book of Hebrews The New Covenant and The Birth of Jesus

As we begin our study today, during this Christmas season, Bob is teaching from the book of Hebrews. He points out the keys to understanding the new Covenant. “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” (Hebrews 10:16) And he puts into perspective the Laws of Jesus. These Laws of Jesus are the laws of Love.

Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

The entire old Testament was fulfilled by Jesus in the law of Love.

Hebrews 8:13
13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

Who is Going to Determine What is Right and Wrong? God or man?

Man is still trying to determine what is right and wrong in their own eyes today. People justify their own actions by saying to God, “I don’t need you God, I can determine right from wrong myself. God, you don’t know what you are talking about. This is just an alternative lifestyle, and is not sin.” Yet the word of God tells us that no one is righteous. No one does good. They do what is right in their own eyes.

Romans 3:10-12
10As it is written:
“There is no one righteous, not even one;
11 there is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.”

The Counsellor of God has been sent to us. The Holy Spirit is our Counsellor. When we repent of our sin of unbelief and accept Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to give us life. He gives us eternal life.
