A very common concern people have, and a very important concern, is doubt of their salvation. You are either ignoring the life that is in you or you do not have that life in you. The first Larry that called had this concern. After listening to Bob share truth, he concluded that he did not think he had the life of God living in him. He was not certain he had ever invited the life of God to come into him. He was diagnosed as bipolar by secular psychologists and had been drinking for over 20 years and has now found himself in a mental hospital. Is there hope for him? For you? Of course there is. The problem is really with his heart and his thinking. Will he hold on to a proud heart, leaning on his own understanding and going his own way, thinking he can do it on his own, or will he simply believe the truth he has just heard about God’s provision for sin and death and offer of new resurrected life. Synopsis

Bob received calls from several people wanting help in communicating with people who have been caught in false teaching. People are not free to walk in the newness of life because they have not studied God’s word and allowed the Holy Spirit to teach them. Instead, they listen to the world and do not test and see if what people say are true. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”

Brian asked in regards to his wife who has been diagnosed as bipolar. He was in need of correction in regards to going to the ungodly for advice and in regards to what faith is. There is so much false teaching out there that teaches that our faith causes God to do this or that. That means we are greater than God and He ceases to be the initiator and He responds to us. Several callers ask Bob questions pertaining to things they have heard out in the world today, and not just the secular world but the Christian world. Bobby called to comment on how sad it is when so many people listen to false teachers, like the Kenneth Copeland‘s. Bob commented that the real issue is where are people going to spend eternity. False teachers have just enough truth to draw people in to listen but intermixed with so much garbage that messes them up for the rest of their life. Is that just like Satan, who is really the one behind this great deception. Bob then addressed the real issue that each person needs to ask himself, “am I saved or am I not saved?” Bob then explained from Hebrews 10:26 what sin keeps someone from being saved from death and the real need of man to have new life in Christ. Bob explained that Jesus death on the cross is when the sins of the entire world was taken away. That does not mean the whole world is saved. You Are Reconciled to God

Synopsis

So often as we live this new life in Christ Jesus, we forget or lose sight that Jesus really is our life. We forget to thank God even of the simple things of life, such as food, shelter and clothing and the air we breathe. Everything we have is from God. In past generations, woman and the elderly were respected. While in a crowded waiting room, waiting for the doctor, there are no seats available and a woman or elderly man walks in, it was quite common and a natural thing to do to give up your seat. There was a greater moral climate that even lost church goers had quite a moral nature about them. There was, in general, respect for those in authority over us, whether police officers or the president of the United States. It has gotten far worse than in Bob George’s time on earth. We have those athletes who have no respect for even our country, for what men in previous generations did to fight for us to have the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy.

I Once Was Blind Now I See

Synopsis

Bob George finished the story of the account in John where Jesus healed a blind man. The Jewish leaders of the days attacked both Jesus and the man once blind but now can see. All they could see was a violation of their law, of breaking the Sabbath by spitting on the ground, making mud, and washing the man’s eyes on the Sabbath. Everyone is born spiritually blind. Jesus came to make the blind see. Bob shared his own testimony of those early years he was blind and lost. He also shared the testimony of John Wesley, a pastor and minister who was blind and lost, sharing simply what he thought was true but was blind until the day he understood justification by faith alone in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ upon hearing a message from the book of Romans. Prior to that, the teaching he was under was by blind men. Prior to being born again, he thought he could see. He was blind thinking he could see. So too all of us once were.

So many people are in bondage due to error, whether from legalism or from false teaching or harsh, condemning words they believed to be true. Todd expressed the error he has heard from Baptist churches, that is really double talk, that only leads to being unstable in all your ways and living a defeated life. How can someone say you have to confess your sins to keep in fellowship with God and also say all your past, present and future sins have been forgiven? There is so much incorrect teaching from a poor translation of 1 John 1:9 and from passages in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, where people do not understand the difference between the Old Covenant that the Jews and Jesus lived under and the New Covenant that Jesus spoke about. Because of such error, people are living defeated lives and certainly not the abundant life Jesus promised. Salvation is also not properly taught or understood.
