Victory Over Depression - Book

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P447 (6-07-19)

Bob George receives calls from several listeners. Ted called to thank Bob for the bible study material sent while he was deployed in Iraq. Sandra called for advice for her struggle with bitterness. Bob encouraged her to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. John called for clarification on the meaning of the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6 in regards to forgiveness from God when you do not forgive a brother who offended you. Bob explained that Jesus was teaching in accordance with the Old Covenant that the Jews were still currently under. Christ taught under the Old Covenant and buried us under that covenant while speaking about the New Covenant to come. Today, under the New Covenant, we are now instructed to forgive one another as Christ Jesus forgave you. When Jesus died on the cross, he took away the entire sins of the world, never to be remembered any more. So if God forgave all our sins, then that is the motivation for forgiving someone who sinned against you. Mike asked about those who have given themselves over to Satan in order to be rock stars. To the lost world, Satan already has your soul until you are saved.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Life Saves

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P446 (6-06-19)

Tony asked a question about false prophets, those men who say they heard from God. Nobody today is getting direct words from God. Those who prophecy today are proclaiming truth from the scriptures that have now been closed. The canon has been closed. Anyone proclaiming words of the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses or the other cults is not a prophet.

Stacey asked about why Jesus was tempted when he is God and He is never tempted. Bob cleared up her misunderstanding. Someone can be presented the temptation to sin, but if you are perfect like God then that really is not a temptation to you. Sin was offered to Jesus by Satan is what is being said here but Jesus is not ever tempted by sin that he should sin. If I were offered a cigarette or drugs, I would walk away or turn it down because I never desired or was given to that kind of temptation.

Dan asked a question to clarify how the Holy Spirit works in changing lives. The Holy Spirit lives in you, renewing your mind with truth. The Holy Spirit reveals truth in the heart of men.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Asks of Us Lean Not on Your Own Understanding

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P445 (5-31-19)

Tony asked for understanding of a conversation he had with people who believed that the apostle Paul was the only person with the mystery of the gospel. Bob instructed him to stay away from such erroneous teaching and rely on the Spirit to teach you and trust Him to complete the work he started in you. Think about Ephesians 3:5 and 2 Timothy 3:16 for example. Bob then answered his question about priesthood and ambassadors. Those in Christ Jesus are ambassadors for Christ, since our citizenship is in heaven, representatives of God on earth and our priestly function, with the Spirit living in us, is to represent Christ to the lost and the lost to Christ. Aaron got into a conversation with Bob, agreeing that scare tactics is not an effective way of evangelizing. Bob addressed that the heart of the gospel is the resurrection. Bob personally addresses the person’s need of new life first, and if the person then does not accept or agree, then it would be fine to address the matter of their being on their way to hell in unbelief, but he would not start there. Ed called to ask about how to pray so as not to be begging him for things.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Lord Save Me

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 27 (05-29-19)

Bob George shared from John 6 and Matthew 14 on the miracles of Jesus, the healing of the sick, the feeding of the five thousand with two small fish and five barley loaves, and calming a storm after walking on water, then continues teaching from Matthew 15. God is in the miracle working business but the greatest miracle is the transformed lives of men. Jesus did these miracles because the Father told him to (John 5:19, John 8:28), for God is full of compassion and tender mercy (James 5:11).

He was here on earth on a mission, a plan from before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:19-20), to go to the cross and rise again, a command he received from His Father (John 10:18). He came to do something for man that man could never do for himself (Matthew 19:26).

He first came to prepare the hearts of men so they may know who he is, that he is God (John 10:38, John 5:18, John 8:58), and see their need, their unrighteousness (Romans 3:10) and God’s righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). At times Jesus was not what we would call tactful and was quite firm in telling the truth about a person’s hypocrisy, to shine the light on their condition of spiritual death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Are You a Professor or a Possessor of Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P442 (5-23-19)

Holley called to ask about Hebrews 6:4-6. She asked what it means to be partakers of the Holy Spirit. Bob explained the finality of the cross. The passage, in context, is directed to those who never repented of their unbelief in Jesus in the first place, going back to the day of atonement for the forgiveness of sins, making a mockery of the cross and insulting the Spirit of grace. Dominic asked about the meaning of Revelation 3:5. Is everyone in the book of life and then certain people blotted out? Bob explained that anyone who does not have life is not born again. So only those who have life, the Holy Spirit living them, is ever in the book of life. This passage is a terrific encouragement to believers on the assurance of salvation. Adam called to ask the meaning of the vine and the branches in John 15. Bob explained the meaning of this passage in context of those living under the Old Covenant, the Jews, and those of us today, living under a New Covenant, while explaining that Jesus lived under the old while explaining the new. Bob further explained what abiding means.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

A Humble Heart

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P441 (5-17-19)

Clarence called to express concern over so many false teachers on the airways. Marie called to say that she did not believe in “once saved, always saved” but then was unwilling to listen to truth. She did not call to learn but to preach. So Bob had to cut off the air and then explain the truth on eternal security in salvation to the listeners. Charles called to ask what is the sin of blasphemy. Bob explained what that is from scripture and further explained what God accomplished in sending his son Jesus to die on the cross to take away the sins of the entire world. Bob further explained that salvation is the receiving of life. Mark called to ask if you can lose your salvation. Bob first asked Mark to explain what he knew and then explained in detail what salvation is.  Salvation is being saved from the consequences of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life. Elizabeth called to ask what it means to endure to he end. Bob asked her what she understood and then explained the simplicity of the gospel, appealing her to come to Christ for life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
