Baptism and the Lords Supper

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P419 (3-01-19)

Bob George answers the common questions asked by people wanting to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Several callers asked about baptism. What is the difference between water baptism and the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Bob explained that the baptism that saves is faith in the resurrection in Jesus Christ. He explains how water baptism is a symbol of what happened when someone is born again spiritually and placed into the body of Christ. Water baptism does not place you in the body of Christ. Churches might teach that water baptism places you in their local body, but water baptism can take place anywhere and is a public testimony of someone’s spiritual birth, a visual picture of what Christ alone did for him. You go under the water identifying with Christ’s death and come out of the water symbolizing that you are made into a new creation in Christ. In water baptism, you are testifying as being a part of the body of Christ, by spiritual baptism, having put your faith in what Christ alone has done for you in His resurrection.

What About 1 John 1:9

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P418 (2-28-19)

Bob answers questions from John, Rich, Mark and Ron, callers from four different states. John was calling to get advice, or rather for encouragement to do the right thing, in regards to what he had been doing in supporting his niece and her husband. They are unmarried and unbelievers living in sin, and now have three children. John has been enabling a bum and an irresponsible father and that must stop. John has been enabling them. Rich called to ask about how to really forgive someone who has wronged you and the associated feelings that go along with not being able to forgive someone. If Jesus is in you, and He is your life, and He has forgiven him then you forgive him. It is really the love of Jesus, being attached to Him, that any love and forgiveness from us is produced. And do let Satan mess you up with lies. Feelings respond to whatever thoughts you are pondering over. Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, proclaiming truth from God’s word, trusting truth over lies, letting Him renew your mind. Mark called to ask about what happens to children when they die young or even those without the mental capacity to understand things.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Mystery of God

Classic Christianity Radio (02-27-19) – The Mystery of God Part 3

Bob George continues sharing from Ephesians a mystery that has now been revealed to the Gentiles. In this mystery is the gospel message of God’s grace, applicable to all men, Hebrew and Gentile, that in Christ all will be made holy and blameless before God. The wall of hostility between Hebrews and Gentiles has been set aside.

Romans 3:9-12
9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Hebrews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. 10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who  seeks God. 12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

Romans 3:21-23
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Hebrew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Forgave You - Thank You

Classic Christianity Radio (02-26-19) – The Mystery of God Part 2

Bob George continues teaching from the book of Ephesians concerning a mystery that the Gentile is saved the same way as the HEBREW, by faith in Jesus Christ. God planned before the creation of the world that in Him we were chosen to be made holy and blameless. Jesus Christ is the object of our faith. Sin entered the world through one man, Adam, and death through sin, so death came to all men because all sinned.

Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned

Sin, the cause of death, had to be solved for man to have new life, to be made holy and blameless. Only God is perfectly holy and blameless.

Psalm 99:5
Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.

So what man needs is the very life of God. The problem of sin was solved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Now, man is free to come to Jesus Christ for life. God was pleased to do this for man and lavished His grace on those who put their faith in Him.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Saved by Jesus Life

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P417 (2-22-19)

Bob answers questions on faith, salvation and baptism by several callers. What is the meaning of faith plus works? Are people saved by works or by faith? What is legalism? Are the Mennonites and Amish into legalism? Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? After the rapture, will the Holy Spirit be on the earth? These are the questions asked by several callers.

Bob explains from the scriptures that salvation is by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, and we also live by that same faith. Faith expressing itself through love is what counts. If you were going to evaluate yourself on how well you do in the love department, going through the definition of love in Ephesians 13, how well would you be doing? The honest answer is, not very well. Why? We never could produce love. Bob explains that salvation is when you become born again by the Holy Spirit coming to live in you, and you walk in that salvation by that same faith. Bob explains the parable of the vine and the branches that Jesus taught.

Saved By Jesus’ Life

Now, in regards to legalism, the Mennonites and Amish, although very hard-working people with quite an exemplary work ethic, still fall short.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Our Salvation

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P416 (2-21-19)

Several callers across the country called to ask Bob questions. Is baptism necessary for salvation? What is free will giving? What is tithing? Is tithing for today? Did I share Christ the right way? Can I lose my salvation? What does it mean to not judge someone? What does it mean to forsake the assembling yourselves together? Where can I go to worship? These are common questions asked by people today. Bob encouraged the callers and explained the meaning of the word of God to them while offering practical advice as appropriate to their need. Many scriptures are written down or referenced so you can also confirm what Bob said is so through the Holy Spirit who teaches you all things (1 John 2:27).

Rick form Corpus Christi, TX

Rick thanked Bob for the teaching he heard that freed him from the law. He said he used to live by the law but found out it brought death. Bob encouraged him and reiterated what has been written in the scriptures concerning the testimony of the apostle Paul.
