Bob George answered calls from several believers who wanted clarification of truth. There are many things people hear from the church world today. Oftentimes what they hear is confusing and contrary to what they have been reading in God’s word. There is a tendency to trust what a pastor says over what can clearly be revealed from God’s word. Remember, the Holy Spirit is your teacher and He will guide you into all truth. Take heed to His word.

Michael was puzzled about these parents who take their kids to psychologists to get treated for behavioral issues like attention deficit disorder. Where does that all come from. Bob tells people to go to the manufacturer. Who created our bodies and knows how we are made? God. Then go to God and find out about how our mind, will and emotions work. Yet, oftentimes, the first person we see is a psychologist, and more often than not, he does not even know the Lord. Why go to the ungodly for counsel?

Bob George received calls from several people asking for help in understanding scriptures or for help in a situation in life they are facing. From time to time, people call who do not know the Lord but their heart is ready to receive the message of the good news of God’s grace. That is the case when George called. Bob had the privilege to share the message of God’s salvation to him. He accepted that gift of eternal life and became a new member of the family of God. Barney had a question concerning the topic of what happened to Jesus when he died, Did he ever cease to exist. So Bob explained that death is simply a change in location. Either a person will spend eternity in a place called hell or in heaven with God. You can only go to heaven with Jesus. Believers have a longing in their heart to be absent from the body to be present with the Lord. But they know they will remain as long as the Lord desires so that they will be of fruitful labor for others joy and benefit. Bob George, on the air with the original People to People ministries, answers questions by callers from across the country on real life issues as well as the common questions. Andrew from Lubbock, Texas asked about the meaning of the head covering for a woman in the passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 11. Bob answered what he knew from a translation or footnote in a translation that provided information that makes some of that passage more easily understood in its context of the day the letter was written. In that culture, the Gentile were very heathen, and had idols made of stone and sexual goddesses with temple prostitutes. The prostitutes in those days wore short hair or had their heads shaved. From bob’s understanding, a woman who came out of that sinful lifestyle and is now a believer may still have her head shaved and if she does not want to be identified with the “shorn” woman, that is, the prostitutes, she should have a head covering until the time her grows out. Bob George shares how in Christ we have forgiveness, righteousness and life. The law brought death but God brought life through Jesus Christ. We were dead in our transgressions and sins but God made us alive with Christ. God does not send anyone to hell. People just remain spiritually dead because they refuse to come to Christ for life. Only Jesus Christ can provide life, eternal life, to mankind. Whoever believes in Jesus is not condemned to death but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in God’s one and only begotten Son. Bob spent some time explaining what spiritual death is and how that came about through Adam’s choice to sin. Bob then explains man’s need of new spiritual recreation, a spiritual new birth unto new life in Christ. This new spiritual birth is what Jesus spoke about with Nicodemus in John 3. Bob continues to explain what coming to Jesus Christ for life means.

Bob George shares from scripture on being made anew in the Spirit of God by spiritual new birth.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

We are now a child of God when by faith we trusted in what God accomplished for us in Jesus Christ, by his death, burial and resurrection. My heritage as a Jew or a Gentile is not important anymore. I am proud to be a child of God. My citizenship is in heaven. As a child of God, we are created for good works, that he produces in us and through us as we trust in him. Bob also shared from the parable Jesus told his disciples in John 15 concerning the vine and the branches.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Classic Christianity Radio (03-12-19) – Created Anew Part 2

Bob George shares from Ephesians about being created anew, that both the Jew and the Gentile, as one body in Christ Jesus, are saved the same way.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Bob explains mercy and grace and how God provided both mercy and grace to us in Christ Jesus. God showed mercy when he withheld death from us, who deserved and earned death because of sin. God extended grace to us when he offered eternal life as a gift, something we never deserved and could never earn. Bob then explained the difference between belief and faith. Belief is necessary for faith but is not automatic in the faith. True faith is putting trust in Jesus Christ, in what he accomplished for you in his death, burial and resurrection.
