Bob answers some basic foundational questions callers asked on salvation as it relates to baptism, salvation, forgiveness of sin, and righteousness. Bob shares several passages of scriptures for each caller, showing from God’s word the truth they needed to ponder, so they can walk in that truth. Bob explained the meaning of scriptures to them so they could grasp the concepts that the Spirit spoke through him that he discerned they lacked in clarity of understanding. The callers asked sincere questions with a heart attitude of wanting to know truth. You can sense in how they asked that they really wanted to know truth and in their current walk in life these truths were being formed in them.

Bob clears up a little confusion Cletis had on what baptism is based on false teaching he was hearing from various things he has heard from new church he was attending. Leadership there were telling him that he should be baptized again. There is water baptism and there is spiritual baptism. Salvation is Eternal Life

Several callers called in about topics related to salvation. Bob reminded callers of the same basic message of salvation. You are saved from the consequences of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life. The only life available to us is the resurrection life of Jesus. So men must come to Jesus for life. Men must be born again, a spiritual new birth, where God’s Spirit comes to reside in men.

Chad relayed a conversation his wife had with her friend who said that someone can lose their salvation. That answer was based on a misunderstanding of a passage in Revelation about God spewing you out of his mouth. Chad called to get advice on how best to answer. Bob explained the meaning of the letter to the churches in Revelation, particularly in reference to spewing them out of their mouth. He is talking about denominational heads who have gone so astray in biblical truth and conduct that God will remove their lamp-stand. Then Bob addressed the real issue at stake concerning his wife’s friend. Bob answers questions from several callers, mostly calling for clarification on the scriptures that they had struggle with understanding. Kenny, relocating due to his job, was trying to discern where to spend time with a new local body of believers. He was exposed to hearing teaching on the prosperity gospel and women pastors and what the word of God had to say about those things. Teachers of the prosperity gospel are charlatans in accordance with what one reads from 1 Timothy 6. Bob explains that they are using godliness as a means for financial gain, among other things. As far a woman pastors, God designed woman as a helper suitable for man, and, according to scripture are not to be put in a position in authority over a man. That has to do with God’s choice in creation and not a matter of equality but one in purpose or role. Bob addresses how this is not even understood by many pastors today, where the message is in serious error when the message is about getting sins forgiven, a denial of the finished work of the cross.
