Bob George continues teaching from the book of Ephesians concerning a mystery that the Gentile is saved the same way as the HEBREW, by faith in Jesus Christ. God planned before the creation of the world that in Him we were chosen to be made holy and blameless. Jesus Christ is the object of our faith. Sin entered the world through one man, Adam, and death through sin, so death came to all men because all sinned.

Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned

Sin, the cause of death, had to be solved for man to have new life, to be made holy and blameless. Only God is perfectly holy and blameless.

Psalm 99:5
Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.

So what man needs is the very life of God. The problem of sin was solved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Now, man is free to come to Jesus Christ for life. Bob answers questions on faith, salvation and baptism by several callers. What is the meaning of faith plus works? Are people saved by works or by faith? What is legalism? Are the Mennonites and Amish into legalism? Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? After the rapture, will the Holy Spirit be on the earth? These are the questions asked by several callers.

Bob explains from the scriptures that salvation is by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, and we also live by that same faith. Faith expressing itself through love is what counts. If you were going to evaluate yourself on how well you do in the love department, going through the definition of love in Ephesians 13, how well would you be doing? The honest answer is, not very well. Why? We never could produce love. Bob explains that salvation is when you become born again by the Holy Spirit coming to live in you, and you walk in that salvation by that same faith. Bob explains the parable of the vine and the branches that Jesus taught.

Several callers across the country called to ask Bob questions. Is baptism necessary for salvation? What is free will giving? What is tithing? Is tithing for today? Did I share Christ the right way? Can I lose my salvation? What does it mean to not judge someone? What does it mean to forsake the assembling yourselves together? Where can I go to worship? These are common questions asked by people today. Bob encouraged the callers and explained the meaning of the word of God to them while offering practical advice as appropriate to their need. Many scriptures are written down or referenced so you can also confirm what Bob said is so through the Holy Spirit who teaches you all things (1 John 2:27).

Bob answers some basic foundational questions callers asked on salvation as it relates to baptism, salvation, forgiveness of sin, and righteousness. Bob shares several passages of scriptures for each caller, showing from God’s word the truth they needed to ponder, so they can walk in that truth. Bob explained the meaning of scriptures to them so they could grasp the concepts that the Spirit spoke through him that he discerned they lacked in clarity of understanding. The callers asked sincere questions with a heart attitude of wanting to know truth. You can sense in how they asked that they really wanted to know truth and in their current walk in life these truths were being formed in them.

Bob clears up a little confusion Cletis had on what baptism is based on false teaching he was hearing from various things he has heard from new church he was attending. Leadership there were telling him that he should be baptized again. There is water baptism and there is spiritual baptism. Salvation is Eternal Life

Several callers called in about topics related to salvation. Bob reminded callers of the same basic message of salvation. You are saved from the consequences of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life. The only life available to us is the resurrection life of Jesus. So men must come to Jesus for life. Men must be born again, a spiritual new birth, where God’s Spirit comes to reside in men.

Chad relayed a conversation his wife had with her friend who said that someone can lose their salvation. That answer was based on a misunderstanding of a passage in Revelation about God spewing you out of his mouth. Chad called to get advice on how best to answer. Bob explained the meaning of the letter to the churches in Revelation, particularly in reference to spewing them out of their mouth. He is talking about denominational heads who have gone so astray in biblical truth and conduct that God will remove their lamp-stand. Then Bob addressed the real issue at stake concerning his wife’s friend. Bob answers questions from several callers, mostly calling for clarification on the scriptures that they had struggle with understanding. Kenny, relocating due to his job, was trying to discern where to spend time with a new local body of believers. He was exposed to hearing teaching on the prosperity gospel and women pastors and what the word of God had to say about those things. Teachers of the prosperity gospel are charlatans in accordance with what one reads from 1 Timothy 6. Bob explains that they are using godliness as a means for financial gain, among other things. As far a woman pastors, God designed woman as a helper suitable for man, and, according to scripture are not to be put in a position in authority over a man. That has to do with God’s choice in creation and not a matter of equality but one in purpose or role.
