6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.

This was a mystery, mustérion in Greek, a truth revealed at the time God chose to reveal it. A truth that was not known prior to the revelation of God to his people. This revelation came through the Apostle Paul. He was set apart as an Apostle to the Gentile. In human understanding this seems like an illogical choice. Bob George answers calls from various listeners, proving clarification of scriptures with practical insight from God’s word. The callers today asked Bob to clarify the understanding of certain passages of scriptures. One person asked if a person could ever be blotted out of the book of life in reference to a passage of scripture in Revelation 3. Another person was bothered about what she perceived as a war between good and evil that if people go to hell then would that not indicate God lost the war? Bob addressed the person by redirecting her away from thinking in terms of winning and losing. God is not in a competition with Satan. Instead he encouraged her to ponder over the fact of how God chose to create man with a free will. Because of that choice of design, man can choose to come to Christ by faith or reject him. Many indeed will reject him but that is by a choice. For the heart and desire of God is that none should perish but all come to faith in him for eternal to be with God forever. Some callers, like James, ask a question concerning a certain general sin in the world, but deep down they are sharing because they are feeling an emptiness or weight of guilt in their own life because of some own past sin they are remembering. As Bob George simply answers questions, many times, the person feels freedom to share more about their own struggle. As Bob shares with James, he hears the hope that is presented to him in Christ Jesus and becomes a child of God, a new creation in Christ. Other callers, such as Rene, ask a question about a teaching on a verse she has heard that puzzles her. Many times a person is being persuaded to believe a lie from a group, church or organization. Currently, we are looking at John 4:28-54 concerning the Samaritan woman who shares her testimony to the local town and how through her testimony and the words of Jesus, many come to believe. Bob shares from these passages what is true evangelism and true discipleship. Evangelism is sharing the good news of Christ so someone is led to become a child of God by their expressed faith in the word of truth in the gospel, the message of good news. Discipleship is the exhortation and encouragement so someone comes to understand all that has been done for them by Jesus Christ and continues to grow in that new relationship as a child of God. There is no better way than learning from the Spirit of God what is the meaning of God’s word!
