Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P563 (08-20-20)

Synopsis

Every generation has seen an increase in wickedness. We do not have to look too far back in history, in Nazi Germany, to get a glimpse of how evil things can get. And, we see things today that pale in comparison, but are just horrific as well. Emotionally, we are not built for that. If we allow our minds to dwell there, we can no longer hold up any more than Peter could when his eyes were on the winds and the waves instead of on Jesus. Jesus even told us that as time draws near to the end that the love of most will grow cold because of all the evil that will be seen. But He also told us that this gospel will go out into all the world, and then the end will come. God’s word will not be silenced. Even in judgment, God’s heart is held out, showing such long-suffering and patience, not willing anyone should perish. Even in the tribulation period, spoken of in Revelation, He sends angels to warn from heaven, to not take the mark of the beast.

Without the knowledge of God, what do people turn to for righteousness, but religion and obedience to the law.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

All is Permissible Not All is Profitable

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P562 (08-14-20)

Synopsis

At times, people have called in, asking for help with a drug problem, whether alcohol, marijuana or something else. But in reality their problem is not really a drug problem, but a heart problem. For as Jesus said it out of the heart that comes the issues of life. The way to fix a heart problem, is to address the source of the problem. What error have you believed concerning yourself or God? Do you think you are condemned to hell because of your addiction? If you are a child of God, you are not. If you are not a child of God, then that is your source of your problem, not knowing God, and therefore, not having access to truth, the mind of Christ, to set you free.

But either way, there is error in your thinking that binds you. You are either under the control of Satan, which you are by default as a lost person, or you have put yourself under his control by yielding to the temptation of the flesh, which is where sin dwells. Satan attacks your mind, with the same lie in the garden of Eden, “Did God really say?”… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

In Jesus We Are in The Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P561 (08-13-20)

Synopsis

A common question asked by many believers is what about this flesh of mine? I do not understand what I do. Another common question is why are there so many denominations out there, and they all seem to have their own and different interpretation on different things of scripture? Why is that, if the Holy Spirit leads you into all truth? And, if the Holy Spirit gives you truth on something, how are you going to know?

First of all, when you are born again, you now have the Holy Spirit living in you. You have the mind of Christ living in you to explain spiritual truth. A person born into this world is not born with the Holy Spirit of God in him. He was born of mom and dad, with a human spirit alive to this world, but dead to God. He must be born again. Until then, he cannot discern the things of God, for they are spiritually discerned, requiring the Spirit of God, alive, living in you, to teach you.

Then you must understand that this flesh of ours, even as a born again believer, is still indwelt with sin.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

A Closer Look at The Truth About Prayer

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P560 (08-07-20)

Synopsis

As we grow in Christ, we all have our struggles, our battles with temptations of the flesh. That can be unique to each individual, what seems to be more prone to you, your weakness. Sometimes we give into our flesh, but we must remind ourselves that we do not have to. We are instructed to rejoice in our weakness so that the power of Christ might rest on us. That is what walking by faith is, walking in what God says is true about you and His provision of life or you. If you are a child of God, then you are being internally led by the Spirit of God, who lives in you. As a child of God, He has given you everything you need for life and godliness through Him who lives in you.

If we do not properly understand the gospel, or have forgotten that our past sins have been forgiven, then we found ourselves putting ourselves under the law. The power of sin is the law. The law stirs up sin. So, when we renew our mind in what truth is, and that truth sets us free.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The New Covenant of Jesus Christ

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P559 (08-06-20)

Synopsis

There are many common questions continually asked from time to time, mostly because so much is taught from denominational persuasions of men, generation after generation, but also because new believers need to grow in grace and knowledge. New believers are mere infants in Christ, and so it takes time to learn and grow. So, Bob often answers questions by very sincere and honest people who want to learn. But sometimes, you just get a caller who is trying to stir up division or controversy. In such cases, you always want to avoid argumentation, and show respect, but firm with truth and be totally honest.

There were a variety of questions today. One caller asked about what it means to be a legalist. So Bob explained about how believers should never mix law and grace, and provided an explanation from scriptures from the apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatians. In short, as believers, we are not under law but under grace in Christ Jesus. We are not under an Old Covenant of sin and death, led externally by words written on stone, but we, who are in Christ Jesus, are under a New Covenant of grace, internally led by the Spirit of God who lives in us.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Church is the People of Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P558 (07-31-20)

Synopsis

As believers, we struggle at times with all kinds of life issues. A common issue is marriage, and especially so when one or the other spouse is not a believer. AS a born again believer, we have the Spirit of God living in us, and so we have access to God’s wisdom through his word, to renew our mind so our behavior is in accordance with who we are. But a non-believer does not have that resource, and therein lies the conflict. That is why the word of God instructs believers not to be unequally yoked, for what does light have to do with darkness.

Many times people call in to ask questions about sin and forgiveness. What do you do when you sin as a believer? Why do I still sin if I am saved? Those are some of the common questions people ask. These are symptoms of not fully understanding what Jesus provided for you at the cross. When Jesus died, he took away the cause of our death, which is sin, in order that life might be given. The wages, what we deserve and earn from sin, is death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
