Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P57 (03-18-20)

Synopsis

God has come to live in us to will and to act according to His good purposes. When we insult a brother in Christ, we are really insulting Christ for whom Jesus died and rose again. He is a member of the body of Christ. Does it make sense to hurt your own body? No. So let us learn to encourage one another and do things that lead to peace and mutual edification. So God lives in us to form new attitudes of the heart. God deals with those things inside the heart that no one sees. Those wrong attitudes, if not corrected, is what leads to those outward actions that hurt one another.

God is our counselor. He is our teacher, our instructor. He renews our minds with truth. Truth is what displaces error, and if you have a critical spirit, then your mind needs to be renewed with truth. Do you not know you are a member of the body of Christ, and you are a part of the body? So why criticize the body? Why steal from your own body? Serve your body, and take care of your body.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P56 (03-17-20)

Synopsis

Romans 13:8 summarizes for us this continual need of love in our hearts. So many people mistake the gospel that saves as the gospel of love, as if by your ability to love, to love God and your neighbor as yourself, is something you do so you become like Christ in order to be saved. That is not the gospel. Love is a fruit of the Spirit, something we never had and could never produce apart from the the Spirit of God. Without the Spirit of God living in us, we do not have anything. But when you are born again, the Spirit of God is placed in you, and by abiding in Him, you allow the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), love being one characteristic, to be produced in you and through you.

So among the Jews and the Gentiles, God formed a new body, the Ekklesia, the body of Christ, made up of both the born again Jew and the born again Gentile. As these born again people are being renewed in their minds, they learn to live in harmony with one another. When you believed in Christ Jesus, received Him by faith, you were given the right to become children of God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P55 (03-16-20)

Synopsis

There is nothing we can do to make ourselves acceptable to God. Now that is difficult to grasp by many people. Why is that? Is it because they do not know what sin really is or what righteousness really is? Most people tend to evaluate themselves next to how other people are doing. After all, they say, “I never murdered anyone one like Adolf Hitler”. They see sin in categories, where actions are greater than attitudes, committing adultery is worse than lust or murder is worse than anger or jealousy. Many view sin as a numerical counting system, where adultery gets you 10 points, stealing 9, and the other things we do a lot more of, such as lying, gets you one or two points. So many people think as if God grades on a curve, that somehow if your good outweighs your bad, then you will make it into heaven.

But that is not how God operates. God is so holy he cannot look upon sin. Sin is defined as anything that does not come from faith. The attitudes of the heart are treated just as if you committed the sinful act.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P520 (03-13-20)

Synopsis

I have a question about tithing to the church? I asked about about distribution of funds, and they said they were buying uniforms for students in the public schools. That is like Paul buying togas for senators in the forum. Paul did take money for Asia minor to take back to Jerusalem. Is there any guidelines as to what churches should use money for. I thought it was for the advancement of Christianity. In today’s world, you have to be very careful and know where your money is going. Did not give blindly? Over 40% of men in southern baptist churches are masons, a religion of the anti-Christ, known as the chief architect of the universe, or Satan. In the past, tithing money went to fund the building of mosques, and very well could be still today. So many preach tithing, and when they do, it also done using manipulation or guilt. There are so many that teach out of Malachi, saying you are robbing God. There are so many wolves in sheep’s clothing today, and people with very little discernment. Do not be deceived into tithing. You are not instructed to tithe under the New Covenant we live under today, which was ushered in when Jesus shed his blood on a cross.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P519 (03-12-20)

Synopsis

Listen as Bob George answers questions from various callers across the country. A pastor said that in Deuteronomy 22:5 that it is sin for a woman to put pants on. Why would someone say that?
Deuteronomy 22:5 5 A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.
Whoever that guy is ought to get a life. Back in those days, men wore robes, which would be called like a dress, or floppy pants. What is he doing in Deuteronomy anyways? If he knew the Lord, he would be in the New Covenant. If the guy is lost, what is anyone doing listening to him, if he is lost. The last thing I would want to listen to is a lost pastor. People pick and choose verses they want to speak on and take it out of context. That happens quite often among those who are lost, devoid of spiritual understanding. They live by the letter of the law, and that kills and does not give life. Look at 1 Corinthians 13:8-10, a chapter that provides a definition of love.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P54 (03-11-20)

Synopsis

In this world today, we hear a lot about not judging one another. Often times, people think judging someone is akin to someone hitting you in the face, and then tells you that you are judging him for hitting you in the face when that is clearly what he just did. You have a bloody nose to testify of that. Well, that is not judging. That is telling the truth. Judging is when you get into the motives of why someone hit you in the face. Well, this is the kind of judging Paul is addressing that was occurring in Romans, that believers should not be doing.

There is this judging going on over disputable matters, casting judgment on those whose faith is weak. What he is saying here is that there is such a thing as faith that is weak. What would weak faith be in comparison to strong faith? Weak faith would be believing that what you are doing is what is establishing your relationship with God. You ignored what God did for you. What is important to you is what I am doing for God. That is weak faith?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
