In Christ Jesus We are Saints

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P675 (09-30-21)

Growing in Grace: Overcoming Habits, Replacing False Dependencies, Love Conquers Fear, Renewing the Mind, Walking in Truth, and Realizing We Are Not Under the Law but Under Grace

When we are born again, we have the Holy Spirit living in us, but we also have sin-indwelling flesh. So there is this battle between the flesh and the spirit (Galatians 5:16-18). But as we learn to walk in the Spirit, we do not carry out the deeds of the flesh. We have in us everything we need for life and godliness so we can participate in the divine nature (2 Peter 1:3-4). One hindrance we have in spiritual growth is the error and lies we have believed. Error is replaced with truth as we meditate on God’s word, relying on the Lord to renew our minds (Romans 12:1-2). His word is truth (John 17:17), and Jesus, who is the living Word (John 1:1,14), tells us that the truth shall set you free (John 8:32).

God Jesus Christ Perfect Man

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P13 (05-18-20)

Synopsis

It cannot be emphasized enough that your teacher is the Holy Spirit. Only the Spirit of God can reveal truth to men, and this comes when you are first born again, and then when you spend time reading God’s word in context, and when you are depending on the Holy spirit to reveal the meaning of it to you. Sadly, too often people rely on preachers, pastors, denominations, various books and any manner of techniques to accept something as truth, but it is quite often error, and rarely ever testing what is being said is true. The bible is our plumb line and the Holy Spirit is our guide into all truth.

So when you read about Jesus example of total dependence on His Father, what He is really saying to us? For example, in John 5:30 and John 14:10-11, you can read about how Jesus depended on His Father. He did only what His Father told him to do and exactly what his Father told him to say and how to say it. Bob George really wants people to grasp what he believes the Spirit … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Respond in Faith to Jesus Christ

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P10 (05-11-20)

Synopsis

So this faith is our communication with the living God who lives in us. You can trust someone you have come to know and who loves you perfectly. This is how we are designed to live, in dependence upon God. Jesus modeled that dependent attitude, when He being God came to this earth in the appearance as a man, and chose to live as a man so that we, who are not God, may know how to live. So He tells us, “as the Father sent me, so I send you. ” So is He telling us to do what Jesus did, to raise the dead? No, that is something only God does and can do. But He is saying to us to have that same attitude that is in Christ Jesus, the attitude that says “I live in total dependency on the Father. I do nothing on My own initiative, but I do what the Father has told me to do and I say what He has told me to say.”

When we were lost, we were into all kinds of dependencies, but misplaced dependencies, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
