The Book of Hebrews Explains Forgiveness Was Finished at The Cross

Today, people are holding on to their traditions instead of trusting in the word of God. People have grown up Catholic, or Protestant, Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist and on and on it goes, and they are trusting in their traditions taught by men. And here is the thing, most traditions are lies, continually sold by Satan in order to convince people that they are saved through their traditions, or coming down an aisle to “get their sins forgiven.” They refuse to hear truth today, spoken to them by the Holy Spirit. Because after all, they have their favorite pastor or teacher that teaches their other favorite pet sin to get on the bandwagon to condemn it, all the while ignoring the biggest sin of all time, unbelief in the finished work of Jesus Christ. It’s the sin that so easily entangle a person. For they do not see it for what it is. They are calling God a liar by word and deed. The New Covenant ~ Book of Hebrews

We are beginning a new study in the book of Hebrews today. This is a key book for understanding the New Covenant and how to live under that same New Covenant by faith. Over the next number of months we will be going into great detail on this book, and how it pertains to our life today. Most pastors and teachers seldom teach out of the book of Hebrews because quite frankly they themselves do not understand the New Covenant we live under today. Most likely, they don’t understand it, because they themselves do not have the Holy Spirit living in them to guide them in ALL truth. They give lip service to the word of God and gloss over key points within the book itself.

If you are in Christ, and Christ is in you, then Jesus is speaking directly to you today through His Spirit living in you. Remember that key point, and to trust in Him to teach you All Truth from the word of God. Are you listening to Him? The Forgiveness of Sins Has Been Done Once and For All and In Him You have Forgiveness of Sins and Are Made Complete in Christ Jesus

How is that two people can both hear the same message concerning Christ, and one will become born again and another not? Recall what Jesus told in the parable of the farmer who sowed his seed (Mark 4:1-25). As you read the scriptures, such as Hebrews, what is your attitude of heart? Do you read it with a filter on, as if only a priest can explain the meaning of it to you? Or are you reading it for answers to the meaning and purpose of life, that if I do not understand what this means, I will not be made alive or able to live? Are you reading it that if God Himself does not explain the meaning to me, I will not know what it means? Where is the condition of your heart, is it hard towards God or is it soft and pliable? Synopsis

As you ponder over the reason for the New Covenant, take a look at the history of the Israelites under an Old Covenant. The Old Testament is the recorded history of their failures to keep the law and of God’s faithfulness, His patience, kindness and mercy, in the midst of their failure. So why did they fail? The same reason we fail today. The law is holy, righteous and good. The problem is not with the law, but with us. To know about the real problem, just look at the fall of man in the garden of Eden.

God created Adam in His own image. Adam was created with free will, and he chose to live independent of God, to not trust God but instead to trust the lie of Lucifer, or Satan, in the garden of Eden, that you can be your own god and control your own destiny, to know right from wrong without God. God had warned him that the day he chose to eat of that knowledge of good and evil he shall die. He did and he died. Synopsis

An interesting topic of discussion among many believers is when the man of lawlessness will be revealed and the timing of the rapture, that event in history spoken of in 2 Thessalonians, where we will meet the Lord in the air. Certainly, people have different understanding of that, and maybe it is because all of it has not been revealed in regard to the details of these things. We know a rapture will occur, but the details are written down but not easily discerned. Do you recall what the Lord told Daniel, whom God revealed details concerning end time events?

Daniel 12:8-10
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”

9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
