In Jesus Let Freedom Reign

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Your Identity in Christ P46 (06-27-22)

Christ Jesus Redeemed You in Order to Set You Free

We continue focusing on redemption, freedom and forgiveness. We want to remind our listeners that many times we review a portion of the last program at the beginning of the next.

Galatians 5:1
1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Just as a person’s physical growth is based on proper diet and exercise, so is the Christians’s spiritual growth dependent on regular feeding upon the word of God and application of its principles. With more false teaching, shifting opinions and general confusion in the world than ever before, Christians need a solid foundation upon which to base their beliefs and build their lives. The word of God declares that Jesus Christ is that foundation of truth. With that in mind, let’s now take A Closer Look at Listen to Broadcast & Read More

You Must be Born Again

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P40 (03-01-22)

The Law Kills and The Spirit Gives Life

We are reviewing a little bit of yesterday’s broadcast first, and then continuing along in our bible study book, A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection. Let’s listen is as Bob teaches from the An Eternal Inheritance chapter.

2 Corinthians 3:6
6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

So He upheld the law. He fulfilled it with His life. He upheld it with His death. When He was buried. He buried the law, meaning we died to the law. The law is what killed, as Paul said through the law, I died to the law. The law killed me. And in my death and resurrection, I died to the thing that killed me. So we buried the law so that we could be raised from the dead in the newness of life, being freed from the law. So Christ fulfilled the law through His life. He upheld the law in His death. He died to … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Knowing Jesus is Eternal Life

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P39 (02-28-22)

An Eternal Inheritance – We’ve Been Made Perfect in His Sight

We are continuing along in our bible study book, A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection. Let’s listen is as Bob teaches from the An Eternal Inheritance chapter.

Bob: We’re picking up on our lesson called An Eternal Inheritance, and it’s probably one of the most disputed doctrines in the scripture. It is amazing when you take a look at the totality of what is called the Christian faith of the terrific high percentage of people that teach that you can lose your eternal inheritance. Which is kind of a contradiction of terms to lose eternal inheritance, but there are a terrific number of people who teach that. It’s an interesting thing, in my opinion, that you also have a large group of people who not only teach that you have to work for salvation. So you’ve got a whole group of people teaching you have to work to get saved and then you’ve got a whole bunch of people teaching that once you do (get saved), you can lose what you worked … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Faith Says Thank You to God Jesus

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P26 (07-21-21)

What Is Faith?

Faith sounds like a churchy word, but have you ever pondered what that means? Is it faith in the mystical, the mystical body of Christ? Is it faith that God exists? What exactly is faith? A better question is in whom should you place your faith in for what really matters. If I know I am a sinner, and that sin is what caused my death, then not only do I need forgiveness of sins, but I need life, for sin is what caused my death. Who is the only person who can and did accomplish that for me? Who alone has already forgiven my sins and has offered me life?

Forgiveness cannot give eternal life. It can only be a necessary preparation for eternal life to be given. For if Jesus did not eternally take away the sins of the world, then eternal life could not be given, because the next time man sins he would die again. Only LIFE can give life, and the only person with life in His name, who has no sin of His own and who was raised from … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

In Christ Jesus You Are Eternally Secure in Him

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P10 (06-15-21)

Synopsis

Faith is Walking in Truth!

God has given us very great and precious promises so that we may participate in the divine nature. This was made possible by the New Covenant, that those who come to faith in what Jesus alone accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection, are now under and have received, which is Christ Himself, alive living in you. In Christ, we have been given a new heart, with unconditional acceptance, a personal relationship with God, and being made a forgiven person forever.

Just as there is nothing you can do to earn salvation, there is nothing you can do to lose salvation. There are no conditions put on you for God to accept you. The scripture simply says you are accepted in the beloved. Jesus took away the sins of the world, never to be seen again by God. Sin is what caused our death, and there is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood. Jesus shed His blood once and for all, so Jesus is not going to shed His blood again on a cross. Therefore, there is no more … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Are You a Professor or a Possessor of Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P442 (5-23-19)

Bob George RadioHolley called to ask about Hebrews 6:4-6. She asked what it means to be partakers of the Holy Spirit. Bob explained the finality of the cross. The passage, in context, is directed to those who never repented of their unbelief in Jesus in the first place, going back to the day of atonement for the forgiveness of sins, making a mockery of the cross and insulting the Spirit of grace. Dominic asked about the meaning of Revelation 3:5. Is everyone in the book of life and then certain people blotted out? Bob explained that anyone who does not have life is not born again. So only those who have life, the Holy Spirit living them, is ever in the book of life. This passage is a terrific encouragement to believers on the assurance of salvation. Adam called to ask the meaning of the vine and the branches in John 15. Bob explained the meaning of this passage in context of those living under the Old Covenant, the Jews, and those of us today, living under a New Covenant, while explaining that Jesus lived under the old while explaining the new. Bob … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
