Make Jesus Your Savior Today

Classic Christianity – Christmas P4 (12-24-20)

Synopsis

As you read the gospel accounts, both in Luke and then now in Matthew, of the events surrounding Jesus birth. You had those unique periods of time, where Mary and Joseph and the shepherds heard from the angels, and of Simeon, an 84 year old man and a widow, who prayed to the Lord day and night, and the Spirit of God revealed Himself to them. They proclaimed that Jesus is the one who will save people from their sins. Then you read about His early childhood, and you see very clearly the fallen world will live in. You see a contrast between the proud and the humble. You have those who were truly looking for the promised Messiah, those who wanted to worship Him. The wisemen certainly sought out to bring gifts to the Messiah, with an attitude of truly wanting to worship Him. Then you have the madman, Herod, and the religious leaders, who only saw Him as a threat, either to their position as king or as a threat to their way of life, as teachers of the law, their way of making a living. They had no room in their … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is God in the Flesh and Forgave Us

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P14 (11-03-20)

Synopsis

Jesus came to give us understanding of ourselves, that we are dead and in need of life. He showed us what true living is, what man was designed to look when he had the Spirit of God living in him. He did this by living like us, as a man, emptying himself of His divineatrobuutes, so that we, who are not God may know what it looks like. He did so that we might recognize our own righteousness and want His. He did this so that once the holy Spirit is given to men, they too can live in the same way he did. We do not do this imitating His action but by imitating His faith, His total dependence upon His Father. Jesus said He did nothing on His own initiative, but only did what He saw His Father doing and He did what His Father told Him to say and how to say it.

Now, being a human being with a human spirit, dead to God but alive to this world, Jesus explained things in terms we could understand. He explained spiritual truth in physical terms … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is Truth Jesus is God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P516 (02-28-20)

Synopsis

Truth is so important to grab a hold of so you can walk in the way God intended. On today’s program, two callers called, that highlight how when truth is not understood or grasped, you are unable to walk in the new life God has given you. There are those people who will not think it worthwhile to hold onto truth, and have been deceived by the thinking of the world, and are lost. Sometimes people call in on behalf of a son or daughter or granddaughter who has been ensnared, and are asking for counsel in how to reach their loved ones with truth. Then there are those who have not quite grasped what salvation is, and because of their faulty thinking, such as the fear of losing salvation, they are unable to walk in true freedom.

As the world gets worse and worse, there is so much thinking of this world that is in conflict with proper thinking. You may not be able to carry out that which is good, but you never want to get to the point of calling something other than what God calls it, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Leading You to Jesus

Classic Christianity – New Years P5 (01-03-20)

Synopsis

When you think of all the things spoken the prophets, that were fulfilled in Christ, and how sovereign God is, that everything He has said has come to pass, who, in their right mind, would not come to come and choose life? The star stooped over the place where Jesus lay, just as it was spoken through the prophet. Jesus shall be called Emmanuel, and we see the transfiguration, where a voice from heaven says, “Listen to him. This is My Beloved Son”. God spoke to Joseph and Mary through dreams, and what was spoken through the prophets was fulfilled, such as Jesus would called a Nazarene. Numerous miracles were performed through Jesus, as the prophets of old said he would do when he came. John the Baptist was visited in prison, and Jesus told his disciples to report these things to him while he was in prison. Jesus himself, at various times said that he would die, but on the third day, be raised again. Then, after Jesus’ resurrection, he appeared to over 500 people, many at that time who were still alive. And during that time, Jesus spoke to two … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Sets You Apart

Classic Christianity – New Years P4 (01-02-20)

Synopsis

Simeon prophesied that Jesus will cause the rising and falling of many in Israel, a sign that will be spoken against, so that the hearts of many will be revealed. There is something about mankind, who is born spiritually dead, that he is naturally opposed to truth. Truth sounds as foolishness to him. You can talk about God all day long, and people seem to be okay with that. People talk about all kinds of religions, and people are okay with that. But once you talk about Jesus or the truth of His word, there is an aversion, a pulling away, or even quite a reaction with false accusations.

In today’s world, hardly anyone wants to hear truth anymore. The bible and prayer have long been kicked out of the public sphere. Situational ethics and evolution have been taught in our schools. Seminaries are teaching things that ought not to be taught. Even bible societies and bible translators are not required to uphold the bible as the inerrant word of God. Jesus warned about this when he spoke about the tares among the wheat.

How did this all come about? This, of … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
