Synopsis

How hard it is to grasp this concept of grace! When you are lost, you just cannot understand that there is nothing you can do to make yourself acceptable to God. But many believers also struggle with this concept of grace that is spoken of in the New Covenant that God ushered in after his death, burial and resurrection. Even your best efforts fall short. Why? You are striving in the energy of your flesh, and not living under grace. The reaction that a lost person often has upon first hearing a message of grace is, “What do you mean there is nothing I can do to make myself acceptable to God? I have tried to obey the law.” A believer also does not always fully understand grace either. Often, upon reading God’s word, their mind is confused for awhile. They have not understood the words of Jesus in the Lord’s prayer, what Jesus said when he said, “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Often times, so many modern churches today co-mingle law and grace. That compounds the problem and hinders people from growing in grace. Christ is the head of the church. But as people come to know Christ, they need to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. So a local body of believers is formed. It takes time to grow, and to protect the body of Christ, more mature believers, who have demonstrated by their life and conduct and their teaching that they correctly handle the word of truth, and are able to explain the meaning of God’s word, such men are appointed. Now, the role of each member of the body is to let the Lord teach them the meaning of the word of God, for it is really only the Holy Spirit who can reveal truth to men. And also because all men live in the flesh of ours, where sin dwells, often churches have a multiplicity of leadership, so as to guard and pray for one another. Recall the shortcomings and struggles of the early church, so we can learn from that. Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P35 (01-28-19)

Synopsis

So often when people grow up in a church background, error is being taught. There are those teachings that keep us bound under law, by the mixing of law and grace, preventing people from walking freely in the new life God has given to those who have believed. Then there are those teachings that are serious doctrinal error. Many a person has walked down an aisle to receive forgiveness of sins, for that is what they have been taught. So the doctrine of salvation is taught in error.

Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven and that is it. Romans 5:10 and Ephesians 1:7 are key verses that, understood in context, explain this more clearly what Jesus accomplished for us, in what salvation is. When you were His enemies, lost, you were reconciled. How? By his death on a cross. How was what provided for then, at the cross, received? In Him. In Him, you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Salvation is the receiving the life of Christ Jesus. The cross without the resurrection is meaningless, for the apostle Paul spoke to the Corinthians, that without the resurrection you are to be pitied of all men, and are still dead in your sins (1 Corinthians 15:17-20).… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Are you exhausted because you are trying to get something you either do not have, spiritual life, by means of the flesh, or thinking you do not have what God says you already have? Are you not resting in what Christ did? What did he do? Have you not heard? Or, have you heard, but have you rejected the knowledge of truth?

So if you have not heard, this is the truth. Man was born dead spiritually, without the life of God in him. But, you say, that is no fault of mine. That is what Adam did. Are you so exhausted in trying to perform to be accepted and loved? Do you have an emptiness in your heart? Even with your success in this world, you are now asking what the purpose of life is? Why am I here? Why do I feel so empty inside? Those are indicators you do not have the Spirit of God living in you. Have you sinned? If you just got angry at me even for asking that question, God says anger is the same as murder. Synopsis

Hebrews give a panoramic view of God’s dealing with mankind and the final solution in Jesus Christ. When you think of the Old Testament, what thought come to your mind? Have you looked at it close enough to realize how patient and long-suffering God was with mankind? Do you think of God as an angry God ready to pounce on you when you sin? Then you have not properly understood the heart of God and the purpose for which he came.

As you read about the continual failures of mankind, do you think God was surprised at that? Man was already born dead, without the Spirit of God in him. God, knowing all that, had a plan to restore mankind back to a relationship with Himself. See man is hopeless and dead in his trespasses and sins. So out of great love for mankind, God sent His Son, at the right time, to enter this world. He entered this world to show us his righteousness so that we can see our unrighteousness, and see our need. When you see the contrast between Jesus and ourselves, it is quite a contrast! Synopsis

Several people called to ask common questions. Many things are not properly understood because people are not reading the word for themselves, not letting the Holy Spirit teach them, or would rather believe what some denominational persuasion has them convinced is true. Such is the case of many of the callers who call.

These callers called because they wanted to know truth and Bob graciously answered their questions from what the Holy Spirit has revealed to him. Is tithing for today? What about Malachi? Am I robbing God? What is the way of giving under the New Covenant? Is God punishing me because I married out of wedlock, and now I am pregnant and had a miscarriage? Should I always turn the other cheek? Should I keep giving to someone who continuously steals from me? What is the line drawn on forgiving somebody? What really is forgiving someone? Am I enabling someone when I keep giving and giving to a person who never changes his stupid or sinful behavior? What happened in the garden of Eden? What happened to all mankind? Can man get that life back again?
