In The Fellowship Saved

Classic Christianity – Encourage By Grace P1 (01-28-19)

Bob George shares from the Word of God to encourage believers by a message of grace. In part one of this three part series, Bob addresses the attitudes of faith. Let us begin now with the first four verses in Philippians 2.

By looking at just the first several verses, Bob explains what it means to be in fellowship with God. He further contrasts the Old Covenant under law with the New Covenant under grace, your new spiritual creation and identity in contrast to your inheritance in Adam, the ability to discern the things of God rather than leaning on your own understanding, and your freedom from death to life. Bob explains the root cause of sin, the consequences of sin, law contrasted with grace, and the grace of God resulting in a new freedom and attitude of thinking. He contrasts the attitudes of vain conceit and selfish ambition to the attitude of humility.

Philippians 2:1-4
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Proverbs 27:21
The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but people are tested by the praise they receive.

Many callers today called to thank Bob George for explaining truth. Bob responded in such grace and shared how he was in the crucible of testing throughout his ministry. Bob shared with humility and reiterated the main point that truth is what sets us free and error is what binds us, and really not any more complicated than that. Bob admitted where he did not know something and showed a teachable and humble spirit. For he himself, as we all are, are growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are all continually being renewed in our minds by the Holy Spirit who lives in us and guides us into all truth, and that will continue until the day we die.

2 Peter 3:18
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever!… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Several callers called in. Karen called about end time events and if there is any measuring stick to know when the time of the rapture is near. Bob emphasized the importance of not getting bogged down into end time events, particularly speculation and arguments, which are not beneficial to anyone, and certainly not at the expense of living your life in the Spirit with faith expressing itself in love. Another caller Rene asked about people prophesying over men by laying hands on them telling what God had said concerning them. Bob emphatically stated that is dangerous akin to fortune-telling and to stay away from people like that. He also said there is no more new knowledge for the canon of scripture is closed and all we need to know is in the scriptures. Tarrance asked questions pertaining to salvation. Bob explained the gospel quite clearly and said that many only teach about sin, sin and sin and never speak of the resurrection. Salvation is being saved from the consequence of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

If God is for us, who can be Against us

Classic Christianity – Call-In Bob George p407 (01-23-19)

Welcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George. Let’s now join Bob George as he offers practical biblical insights as he helps people experience faith, hope and love in Jesus Christ.

Bob answered a call from Rick who was struggling with acceptance from his father. He was experiencing all kinds of critical remarks and belittling from his father and his response was one of anger. He called to get help in dealing with that anger. Bob, through many years in ministry, said that he hears this often from sons who have never heard a single compliment from their father. Bob himself testified that you would not believe the number of rejection and hate letters he receives that he has thrown in the trash over the years he has been in ministry. Bob directs people’s attention to the unconditional love and acceptance with God, that perfect love that casts out fear, and the passage in Ephesians 3 to grasp the love of God, to know the acceptance and approval that comes from God, and how much God is for you from the passage in Romans 8:31-32. You really have to let go of the fear of rejection or ever receiving approval and acceptance from people by abiding in God’s amazing love and replace anger you feel with pity for the one who does not understand God’s love.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

God Will Give You a New Heart

Classic Christianity – A New Heart for a New Year Part 2 (1-22-19)

Welcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George. Let’s now join Bob George as he offers practical biblical insights as he helps people experience faith, hope and love in Jesus.

You may have heard it said that there is no man greater than the laws of the land. There is mercy apart from the law absolutely, but under the law you better carry that out otherwise you lost it. That is not a popular stance today, and people are called bigots for such a stance.

So what do we read from God’s word to live a new life? Can you really live the Christian life? As a believer, do you struggle in the flesh? Do you fail at times? Yes, we all do. Do you fear calling someone in the body of Christ for help when you struggle? Why not? Are you afraid of being judged? What then is the purpose of the body of Christ? If Christ judges us in the flesh no more, neither should any other believer? Bob explains the role of the body of Christ in encouraging and helping one another.

Now, are you dead in your trespasses and sins, unsaved and lost?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A New Heart for a New Year Part 1 (1-21-19)

Bob shares from Ephesians 4 starting at verse 17. Bob explains the nature of the human flesh, how that is contrary to the Spirit, and as born again believers that struggle is ongoing until the day we die. Because of this struggle, the outward behavior of a believer can look no different than a non-believer. Yet, there is an internal change. Bob states that in order to change one’s actions one must change the way he thinks.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Starting in Ephesians 4:17, Bob goes into greater detail explaining the conflict between the flesh and the Spirit, showing from scriptures that exhortation to believers in how to live.

Ephesians 4:17
17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
